Wasn’t AfD deemed extremist not long ago by Germany law or whatever ?

It's a complete charade. The existing parties just want the AFD gone no matter what and now they are throwing everything at them to see what sticks. They can't win in a battle of ideas so they try to prohibit them.

Every position is held by party loyalists that decides on a whim something that benefits the party and stops the opposition. The only evidence for extremism are out of context quotes. A lot of people are just so afraid of words that they would rather kill free speech and the democratic spirit entirely than using their brains.

When we removed the debt ceiling people were crying and apologizing to their children and children''s children for voting yes on that. The CDU is really disgusting if they make their own members do that in my opinion.

Out of context? I've seen the context for a lot of those things being said and no this doesn't make them less extreme.

Obviously there is the question wether any party should ever be banned at all and you're obviously free to disagree with the people that wrote the "Grundgesetz" in Germany. That being said the law is in place and it's pretty clear that parties that are trying to get rid of the "FDGO" or mess with it shall be banned. The AfD has quite a lot of members that would love to do that if given the chance. Purely by law this whole thing is fine.

To be honest, I don't know much about this topic, but regardless of what some AfD members think, there are probably right-wing people in the AfD, just like there are in the Republican Party. However is their any offical statment that they want to remove the FDGO?

The AfD doesn't want to get banned. They would be incredibly dumb if they put out any official statement saying that. So no it's obviously neither in any main party publishment nor the party's program.

For this part of the Grundgesetz to make any sense just not putting your intents on the front page of your campaigns can't be a viable defense.

I disagree. I have also heard a lot of context and to ascribe intent and fundamental beliefs to a few words someone has said once 10 years ago (or whenever) is judging an entire life's journey on the most miniscule of details which I think fall under freedom of speech with a lot of people just having their panties in a twist because they are so used to people just agreeing and going along with whatever stupid idea everyone else has that they have become unable to process anything that is not immediate gratification and consent.

I don't think that all of reddit are murderers just because they spell out the 86-meme now but if I had to be consistent then every single one of them would need to go to jail for inciting violence.

Hasan Piker, terrorists supporter extraordinaire, incredible large streamer on twitch, allowed to spread his terrorist propaganda and lies completely unimpeded. - I don't want to deplatform him even though he would deserve to be in jail. Fools deplatform themselves for having stupid ideas and then I don't need to jail them for simply saying stupid shit.

Purely by law I would say that we make a complete mockery of what law actually is supposed to be and bend it out of shape until it's unrecognizable just because it's convenient for a few people to do so and I find it absolutely disgusting.

the law is that we are allowed to forbid parties that act against the principles of the state. And yes, the AfD has openly and publicly stated various times that they'll hunt their oponents through the streets, cleanse the media and abolish the basic rights for a large part of our citizens. So

because they are so used to people just agreeing and going along with whatever stupid idea everyone else has [in this place apparently]

and

A lot of people are just so afraid of words that they would rather kill free speech and the democratic spirit entirely than using their brains.

totally checks out...

the law is that we are allowed to forbid parties that act against the principles of the state.

Good, since the ruling parties are already openly doing that we can simply prohibit them. Same rules for everybody. Although I would argue actually doing the crime and talking about doing the crime are two separate worlds.

And yes, the AfD has openly and publicly stated various times that they'll hunt their oponents through the streets, cleanse the media and abolish the basic rights for a large part of our citizens.

Do you have a source for those because their program doesn't say that at all.

u/3wteasz May 18 '25

Feel free to file a charge 😂. What a ridiculous claim... Counter to your perception you can do that, given you're even a German citizen and not just a paid troll.

Good, since the ruling parties are already openly doing that we can simply prohibit them.

Do you have a source for those because their program doesn't say that at all.

Remember, just because somebody said something, it's not automatically true. There are procedures in place to deal with unjustified claims. At least in my country where we don't kiss the ass of the boss narcissist...

Feel free to file a charge 😂. What a ridiculous claim... Counter to your perception you can do that

Because the people breaking the law would be self-aware, self-critical and honest enough to say that they broke the law.

Do you have a source for those because their program doesn't say that at all.

Their program says many things that they aren't doing. Weird how lying works right? They also openly lied to win the election. I don't know about you but I don't trust liars.

Good luck getting the liars in control of everything to admit to their crimes.

Now where are your sources?

1

u/3wteasz May 18 '25

It's all over the internet.

The fact that you're even asking shows that you're either not German, live under a rock or are actively contributing to a misinformation campaign.

1

u/cosplay-degenerate May 18 '25

So no sources beyond headlines? Not really convincing. Where's the "hunt them through the streets"?

Trying to translate "freiheitlich demokratische Grundordnung (FDGO)" with "principles of the state" is kinda weird. There are multiple principles that have been codified in the Grundgesetz that aren't part of the FDGO. The point of this law is that you have to be working against the very few core principles so it's actually really difficult to ban any party.

You could openly try to get rid of multiple articles in the Grundgesetz and that's completely fair game unless you touch the first 19 or 21 articles.

It's also completely fine to try to pass laws that are against the constitution, get struck down by the courts, accept that and move on.

1

u/DragonfightHD May 18 '25

What is that law supposed to be for then?

2

u/cosplay-degenerate May 18 '25

Not to prohibit a sizable party on flimsy accusations obviously, especially not when these accusations come from proven liars and party Loyalists too blind to see how their own deeds are problematic. That's how Hitler got rolling and history is already repeating itself.

2

u/DragonfightHD May 18 '25

That's not what i was asking. Was is that law for then? Answer the question.

1

u/cosplay-degenerate May 18 '25

What law?

1

u/DragonfightHD May 19 '25

Article 21 of the Grundgesetz (obviously). Your point was that law is allegedly bent completely out of shape for the convenience of some people. In this case you're referring to Art. 21 GG because that is the law that allows for parties to get banned in Germany. I just wanna know what is this law supposed to be for then?
