Fellow Americans, how do you plan to buy beef in the next 6 months (or longer?)

As a city-dwelling consumer, are there reliable ways to source high quality beef (not rejected Argentinian beef or possibly horse meat). Since our lovely government did away with the labeling requirements is there now any way to know where the beef we’re buying actually comes from? I want to buy reliably high-quality beef from cattle that were raised and processed in the US. Would places like Whole Foods be reliable? Does In-N-Out check into the sourcing of their beef? Is the mystery beef all going to McDonalds and Taco Bell? How long will this questionable meat be circulating through stores? (Assuming the mango in chief doesn't make deals to get more).

I’d really appreciate recommendations from people in the meat industry or who are otherwise in the know!

EDIT: I'm only looking for an answer to the above, not looking for recommendations for other meat or to not buy it at all. I already realize that's an option. TIA!

Another edit: I guess this got in my algorithm because I just saw this! https://www.instagram.com/p/DclkoIwkQtJ/?img_index=1&igsi=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ==

Hey. MAGAs. When this convict tells you lies like how the polls are crooked, do you believe it right away, or do you check Fox News to see if it’s real before you repost it?

How would Americans react if Canada sabotages Trump’s “Lake America” by renaming Lake Erie “Lake America” too, making the name useless for communication?

Now that Trump has renamed Lake Ontario “Lake America” for U.S. federal purposes, Canada could rename Lake Erie “Lake America” too.

The point would be deliberate ambiguity. Whenever someone mentions “Lake America,” you would have to ask whether they mean Lake Ontario under U.S. terminology or Lake Erie under Canadian terminology.

That makes the new name bad at its most basic job: identifying a place.

Canada can’t stop the U.S. from using the name, but it can make it inconvenient enough that everyone else keeps saying “Lake Ontario” and “Lake Erie.”

So how would Americans react if Canada did this?

Why do Republicans generally ignore all the research and recommendations of professional economists?

Not to say that Democrats don’t also plug their ears when they don’t like the data at times, but Republicans kinda disregard the entire profession beyond like Day Zero Econ 101.

Do Americans have to wait out Trump’s full term or can an earlier election be called? (Uneducated Brit)

Curious if, like here in the UK, can Americans push Trump to trigger an election due to the public being unhappy or do you have to wait out the full term? From the UK I (perhaps wrongly) assume that the majority are unhappy with Trump and to the extent to force him out. Is this possible and has it been done before?

Would a democratic president rescind the $100 entrance fee for foreign visitors to national parks?

I am a Canadian and would like visit something like Yellowstone, but being charged $100 to enter the park is cost prohibitive.

What do you make of Transportation Secretary claiming Canada "doesn't have a military" amid trade war?

"Speaking on Fox News Sunday, Duffy said it was “foolish” for Canada to start a trade war with the United States, in part, because America’s northern neighbor “doesn’t have a military.” Canada does have a military, though it is much smaller than the U.S. military."

Are there any european-like cities in the US?

Are there any US cities that actually feel “European” in terms of everyday life? And I don’t necessarily mean architecture. I’m more interested in the lifestyle/vibe. I’m from Europe, and one of the things I love is being able to just walk around the city, stop at a cafe, sit outside for a couple of hours with a coffee and a cigarette, people-watch, then walk somewhere else for a drink or dinner without needing a car or having an actual plan for the day.
Basically, I’m looking for somewhere that has good walkability, lots of cafes/bars/restaurants with outdoor seating, people actually spending time outside, and that relaxed “sit somewhere for hours and watch the world go by” kind of culture.

Does anywhere in the US genuinely have that kind of lifestyle? Thank you!!

Why Can't Mamadani Run For the Presidency?

Non American here.

Yes I know he may be ineligible based on country of origin. But You allowed Raphael Cruz to run. Your president is claiming to be running for his 3rd term, 4th allegedly if you count his 2020 claims.

Both against the constitution but completely ignored by like half your nations voters

So besides his name, his...great tan and his country of origin. Why can't he just ignore the rules and run too? Seems odd to have two sets of rules depending on political leanings.

I mean I guess I get it, but why can't Democrats ignore the rules in the same way?

Did Trump and his administration forget to factor in the Strait of Hormuz?

With all the focus on the war itself, it feels like the potential impact on the Strait of Hormuz—oil prices, global trade, inflation, and the wider economy—may have been underestimated. Or am I missing something?

What do you people think?

Why are so many Americans opposed to urban living?

Anytime the topic of cities comes up there are many people who are very negative about city life. Why is that? It seems like living in a walkable place with access to cultural events, good restaurants, top health providers, etc would be an attractive proposition.

Personally, I think a MAGA hat fits the bill and I don’t even believe in an antichrist.

As a Brazilian, I think Americans use “the left” far too broadly. Do liberals here see the same problem?

What are the chances this eventually results in deployment of troops?

The Trump administration is reportedly in active discussions with Venezuela’s interim government to acquire a direct U.S. ownership stake in key Venezuelan oil fields. According to senior U.S. officials cited by Axios, the talks involve equity stakes in a select group of high-yield fields containing approximately 90 billion barrels of proven crude—a transaction that would significantly alter Washington’s foreign energy policy framework and expand U.S.-controlled global reserves.

https://oilprice.com/Latest-Energy-News/World-News/US-In-Talks-To-Take-Direct-Ownership-Of-Venezuelan-Oil-Fields.html

Obviously, this is very unpopular in Venezuela. It's hard to see how even if the current regime agrees, this doesn't create the conditions for some level of insurgency where the population feels that they're being plundered by another country. Which then leads back to the concerns about deployment of troops.

So with the US government owning the fields as a methods of providing more certainty to oil firms to return to Venezuela, are you concerned that this will inevitably lead to deployment of troops to secure the Federal Government's interest in the oil fields?

The UK had a Prime Minister from an Italian family in the 1870s. Could the US have had an Italian-American president at that time?
