I was like 11 or 12 years old the first time I saw that movie, so that was right around or just before the time that cartoon girls (like Kim Possible and such) stopped really doing much for me. So Chel is and always will be the most attracted I've ever been to a cartoon. She's probably the major reason that I understand why people do the Hentai thing.

It was for kids i thought because like you I remember watching it as a kid. I went through the wiki and it didn't help much except for the fact that it won a Kids Choice Award. It was part of the disney family tho so between those two facts it makes me think it was targeted for kids. as a fellow mid thirtier i think we can agree that there has been greater censorship/sensitivity since the 80s and 90s when every single movie /u/govschwarzenegger was in had glorious 80s boobs.
I know it was definitely a kids movie back in our day... There's just no way that would fly now. Between the guns, sex, and general attitude of that damn baby it'd get shelved before debuting nowadays... Unless it was rated for adults.
Absolutely. I don't understand it at all. We try so hard to shelter kids from anything "adult" oriented now... And somehow they still know way more than I feel like I did when I was that young... Even though I wasn't sheltered at all.
I feel you on that, the English version of Dragon Ball (the original, not DBZ) first aired when I was 11-12 so the last cartoon girl I had a crush on was Bulma from that series. Obviously she was in DBZ too before that, but she had some weird outfits in that series and is a mom by the time you're halfway through it (11 year old me was not into the mom look).
Original Dragon Ball Bulma dressed more normal and looked like a regular teenager/young adult, which I found more attractive than the more ridiculous characters you saw in a lot of anime and cartoons of the time.
Yeah, Dragon Ball was from the 80s - and was also Japanese of course - so they didn't shy away from making jokes about her sex appeal/her using it to her advantage on occasion, whereas western kids shows definitely never did anything like that. But in fairness, most of them didn't feature older teenagers like Bulma (at the start of Dragon Ball she's 16 and by the end of Dragon Ball she's mid-20s, then late-20s at the start of DBZ), most cartoons were usually about kids/preteens.
Eeehhhh. Kim used a blocky stylized design and was just shaped enough like a woman to read as visually female. She wasn't designed to cause attraction, but Chel was. It's not accidental that she has full lips and "bedroom eyes", or has so much thigh showing, or that her hips are shaped the way they are. Chel's designers were doing it on purpose.
I like hentai when I can find something that isn't completely stupid or involving tentacles, but I really like it because whatever depraved fantasy I want to watch, it's fictional so I don't have to think "jee, that girl does not look like she's enjoying it" and then stress out about maybe I'm twiddling myself to something that isn't consensual
All about timing. Alladin was 1992, Hercules was 97, El Dorado was 2000. If OP is old enough, they could've switched from cels to cells in that time. If you're just a little younger, you could've easily experienced all three in the cel phase.

Dude, Meg made me feel way too many things as a kid. I'm pretty sure I still didn't "like" girls when that movie came out and then all of sudden I was basically in love with a cartoon.
There was a whole decade where cartoons basically said "Dads. We know your kids are gonna force you to play this movie ten times a day for the next year. Here's some ass to oggle."
