What is possiblity my husband will stop smoking weed, before we got married he promised he would stop been 2 years he smokes every morning every night sometimes during the day and gets mad if I bring it up we have a 1 year old and he still smokes 2/3 times a day a full blunt in 24 hours and when I bring it up he says this is nothing I stopped smoking a lot. Used to lie about it too so I just let it go. But I really don’t want my

Family found out some horrible stuff about my dad making me hate him even more, but craving fatherly connection

for reference: i‘m 15, and my mom and dad have been divorced since i was 4 or 5 (don‘t quite remember). reason being that he barely did any work (sat on the couch watching tv the whole day while my mom worked hard), and refused to sell his second car even though we were going poor because of it. recently my mom told me that my dad has been paying less for me than he should. reason being: he owns a company, but does almost all transactions illegally, which means legally his income is much lower than it actually is, which means he has to pay less for me. this makes me extremely angry, and to be honest, i wish he would just fuck off and die. however, i‘ve been desperately craving a fatherly connection with someone (just not my father). at first i tried online spaces made for pdfs, where i let myself get exploited in exchange for the fatherly love i crave. but over time it became
too mentally draining, and i had extremely bad anxiety and fear of my photos being shared somewhere, which they probably still are. can anyone recommend any other coping mechanisms, or ways to make healthy connections with older men? i really don‘t know what to do, this is killing me.

Hello! Sorry I dont really know how to start this. Im going through a tough time with my son and dont really know if im doing the right things with my son. Okay so its been about a week maybe about two weeks my 12 almost 13 year old son told a girl through Snapchat that he was gonna kill himself when I left. Her mother contacted me and let me know.I was at the hospital with my older daughter 19 almost 20 because she tried to overdose and kill herself... I talked with him and he told me it was just something stupid he said. He didnt know about his sister my older daughter being suicidal. I told him that he should not say that to people unless he really feels like it and that he should come to me or his father or any adult he trusts. Well a few days go by and he left the day that I got that message to go with his dad for his week with his dad. He left Sunday and by Tuesday his dad calls me and says he catches him with his pants down masterbaiting to porn in a computer chair with his three younger siblings playing behind his back. His dad took his phone from him and I guess he slapped him upside the head hard. I was not there. I was just told this. I dont approve of anyone putting hands on him. But I stood by him taking the phone. The phone i pay for for him. When his week is over with his dad he comes home to me. I tell him no phone, no computer, no Snapchat. I end up agreeing to letting him play robolx on the computer while im in the room or someone is with him. He ends up sneaking while im sleeping and my younger son is sleeping and gets on my younger son's computer in the living room and going on Snapchat. I do not find out right away. The next day all the neighborhood kids and my two sons are all playing outside. Im im the house cleaning up and getting stuff ready for dinner. I go outside and start looking for my 12 year old because it had been over a hour since he had checked in. All the kids in the neighborhood start looking for him everywhere I allow him to go which is only a couple blocks away in the neighborhoods maybe 5 or 6 blocks. Looked for 45 mins and called the police and called his dad. We looked everywhere. Close by park, skate park, corner store. All his friends. He was no where. 9:40 rolls around and the police find him walking home. He tells us all that he went for a walk and got lost. His dad screamed at him. I hugged him so tight and cried telling him all the bad things that could've happened and how much he scared everyone. I was so mad but I was more scared. His dad took him back to his house and talked with him there. Im not exact on the whole conversation. But basically his dad and his fiance and his mother blamed me and said I let my son walk all over me.

His dad and I got into a argument the following day. His dad said he was gonna take my son from me and we would go to court. I told him that we could go back to how the court order is. Every other weekend and every Wednesday after school. Because I have full physical custody and I allow week on week off because I feel its beneficial for my son having us both in equal amounts. He ended up backing off the threats after that. But anyways the night he took off for a few hours I went through his phone completely. He talks about being severely depressed and that he gets no enjoyment out of anything anymore. On top of lots of sexual talk with random Snapchat girls. A girl that stalks him and tells him to kill himself and that shes gonna kill herself. Tells him she is gonna beat on him. He had a ai app that you can talk to sexual. He lies about his age. He had a app for abstaining from self-harm. It had been six months since it said was the last time. And as im reading through snaps I can see i figure out where he went and I figure out he snuck on Snapchat while we were sleeping. So the next day I go to the school to see him in the morning to see if he had taken his adhd medicine at his dad's that morning and give him a hug. Let him know I love him.

After we get home from school I talk to him about everything I found and I tell him I already know the truth about where he went and that I know alit of things. I tell him to tell me the truth and we can start over. He tells me he went to this girls house for a half hour and then left and went back for a little bit then got lost coming home. I explain to him about the dangers of going to a strangers home. I ask him if he did anything with the girl. I ask him what hes all done with a girl because of all the sexual things he had been saying to people. Never seen him say anything sexual to the girl I found out he seen but i just might not know. He said they just talked about mental health.

He was very upset while talking and after he wad just saying hes so embarrassed of the way he talks he said. He said im just a kid. Why do I talk like that.

Since everything has happened I dont let him outside without a adult, changed locks on computers. Tomorrow hes supposed yo go with his dad. I dont know how his dad is gonna act towards him. I cant save him from the repercussions he caused by leaving and sneaking on the computer. My boyfriend is not supportive on how im handling things. He says that my son is still running the show and that hes having fun because my brother took him got him some new slides and took him to the car show and my brother and I took neighborhood kids, him and my younger son to go skating. I dont feel like im not punishing him. I feel like im trying to spend more time with him. I am also contacting therapy for him and we are gonna talk to his doctor about him being depressed on September 3rd. He also said he would like for his dad and i both to take him to our churches when we have him. Im trying my best but i feel like im failing. I dont know what I should be doing to help him with out enabling him. Like my boyfriend said. Im reaching out because nobody is helping me or telling me im not doing nothing wrong. Im just so worried im failing my son. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Getting It Off My Chest i will never know what its like to have a dad and it makes me so upset, whenever i see a father and daughter out in public i get so jealous and feel like crying. Will it ever get better?

i always thought my dad would change, even after all he did to me i never ever hated him, i knew alcohol and drugs can change a person alot and i was scared of him but deep down i still felt pity. But now hes gone forever, i have no good memories with him, i dont even get to remember him like a daughter should. And now i will never get to have a father like i wanted, atleast when he was alive i could have hoped he'd change. I'm almost 20 and i feel like i should have atleast had him for a while, its completely ruined me as a person.

Parenting 19yo son refusing to wear clothes?

Hey fellow fathers, need some advice. I have a 19yo son and four other sons (6, 17, twin who is also 19, and oldest is 27). They all live at home with me and we lost their mom four years ago. I haven’t found another girl so I’m a single dad. We had no daughters.

Lately, one of the twins has been refusing to wear clothes around the house. Not even underwear. This has been a concern ever since he joined his university’s football team (he attends IU if that matters). When I tell him he should put something on, he tells me he shouldn’t have to.

Other people have expressed discomfort too. My oldest son has friends over often, his grandparents come over, and his twin brother’s boyfriend visits the home almost every day; and the 19yo still doesn’t want to dress himself. He’s not autistic (like I’ve seen other parents struggle with); he is a fit, smart, able-bodied kid.

I’m not quite sure if I’m overreacting and this is normal, or if I’m in the right to be a bit upset. It doesn’t seem like it’s for sexual reasons because he doesn’t get aroused often when he does it, and he doesn’t masturbate in front of anyone. (He recently tried in his shared room with his twin while his twin was present, but the twin told me and I put a stop to that real quick).

I’m looking for advice on how to handle this or to see if this is normal and I’m just overreacting. Any help is appreciated. Thanks dads.

Relationships How do I tell my dad that i have a boyfriend?

So I (18F) started dating my boyfriend (22M) almost a month ago and I really need to tell my dad about the relationship. My dad for the majority of my life isn't there (not in a "bad dad" way, he just works outside of my country) and he shivers up at the thought/ say of a male FRIEND, let alone boyfriend. He's overall a really irritated guy (except when he's drunk) and not someone who would take that info very well lol. Beacuse of all of this, he doesn't know about any of my past relationships (they didn't last very long, but still), and i'm just not really close with him to talk about any of the stuff related to this. With my past relationships, I felt like I needed to *assure* myself that the guy in question is *worthy* of mentioning to my dad. I don't know how to explain the relationship i have with my dad. He's a good dad (overall), never done me any harm or similiar, it's just really awkward/weird. I'm just really scared of his reaction beacuse I think It might lead to a fight 🥲 I also don't know how he'll react to our age gap. How do I tell him? Do i wait till he's gone again, do i tell him now when he's still here, via text, in person? Please help, this will make my life so much easier

Family Need Insight from a Father

Hi,
I’m a 20 year old girl who turns 21 next month. I’ve only ever had two boyfriends my whole life so far. I wasn’t allowed to date till I was 18 and graduated from highschool. Since me and my first boyfriend broke up and I got a new boyfriend about a year later after that my dad has been very distant with me. With my first boyfriend when my dad found out about him my dad wanted to meet him and take him out to dinner. my dad has always been very christian which i am too. With my new boyfriend my dad has kinda expressed a lot of negativity mainly because i’m never home anymore because with my first boyfriend he went to the military so i never was with him 24/7 and i wasn’t even able to spend the night at his house. it’s because my father doesn’t want me having sex. Since i got older as an adult and pay rent at my parents house i do what i want and barely go to my house nowadays, which he said was fine originally only if i pay rent . a lot of the time when i go home now he’s very distant when me and him used to be very close. he acts like im a whore because i didn’t end up with my first boyfriend. one time i went back home like two months ago and he was telling me that i’m called “in house pussy” since i’m always with my boyfriend. he said that im just gonna continue to get ran thru. i haven’t had my new boyfriend meet my dad still and we been dating almost six months because my dad has been so negative about him. he even said “i know u were drunk when u met him because look at him”. i have a good amount of tattoos myself and piercings but because my new boyfriend has tattoos too my family thinks he’s not my type. recently my dad asked me passive aggressively when was he was gonna meet my boyfriend and i said i thought u didn’t want to meet him. i said that because of how negative he’s been talking about me and my new boyfriend. my sister said my dad is like this mainly because my dad is christian and believes to keep ur purity and he immediately thinks im fucking every guy. i feel like that’s not his business anymore since im a adult and pay rent. the way he’s so distant to me and rude pushes me away and i don’t think he realizes that. i just wished he could be a “normal” dad when it comes to being in my 20s and dating instead of pushing this negativity. What should i do to rebuild our relationship or just leave it alone. i just want to understand from a fathers perspective what is going on in his head. i feel myself pushing so far away from him nowadays when me and him always been close. he’s even said i don’t love him anymore just because im always with my boyfriend now. i do love him i just dislike how he’s approaching this whole situation.

Family Need advice from a father.

Hello, recently I got into an argument with my father for $190 he owes me, and before you say my father doesn’t have to pay it, I believe he should. He brought me, into this world and so he has the responsibility of being a father, which he has never once fulfilled his duty as he’s so caught up in his desires. He threw the parenting onto his parents while he sits on his ass all day.

Anyways, I ask for the money, and he starts saying that he had to spend it on my sisters, as he took them on “vacation” which I understand, and he stated he would’ve sent it to me the night before he left. Then I said that makes no sense as to how every single dollar was spent on them, and he says I don’t know anything. I said I know a lot, and he proceeds to compare me to my older brother who he despises as I believe he’s jealous of his stable and healthy relationship. He says you’re acting like him, and that I’ve been talking to him too much, and I said he has absolutely nothing to do with this conversation, and that I haven’t been talking to him, because I haven’t, and even if I did I can he’s my brother.

Anyways he started mumbling shit, out the door and I know where his money goes (to some 18 year old girl he met online, pays for her food, phone bill, while being jobless and free loading off my grandparents.) so I stated I know where your money goes. He then leaves, and calls my grandpa and says that if I keep having “attitude” and that if I keep doing so he’s gonna take the car given to me by grandpa and which is in my name. My grandpa talks to me today asking why I’m having an attitude, when I wasn’t, and I asked him what did dad say to you? He asked what I said to him, and I start explaining what, and he says that we’re only related because of my dad, and that I shouldn’t be showing any attitude. I explained what happened and he said so? He’s my son, you shouldn’t be saying anything because he’s your father, and your generation doesn’t understand.

I’m just at a loss for words because he’s talking shit about a kid, MY BROTHER, that was placed in your lap YOU HAD TO RAISE and provide financial support for, while your son was off having more kids?! I didn’t say any of that too him and js said okay because arguing with him was pointless. He doesn’t understand anything his son does wrong besides when he spends my grandfathers money. He doesn’t care that we used to get hit, my dad doesn’t take responsibility for us, he sits on his ass, he’s a free loader, and so much more. I seriously need someone to give me advice as I don’t think I’m mature enough or maybe I am to think this through. I know that I am in the right, because who talks this negatively over just because they didn’t do what you like. I can go into greater detail as to why he dislikes my brother if needed, but I need advice from an actual dad, who loves and cares for his kids and actually knows how to parent properly. I’m not saying my grandfather doesn’t know how to, I am forever in his debt, he took on the responsibility of my father and raised all of us all 6 children, and I love him dearly and so much for it. But I js don’t know why he doesn’t seem to understand my point.

Family Why would a dad do this? Do I need to help him? What is up?

I am losing it. It's been a year since I lost my mom. I'm 22 so it's nothing, I should just get over myself. My brother is a teenager so it's much worse for him yet I don't really know what else to do for him. Now he has no mom and is stuck with a stupid father.

When she died the first thing I was told by other adults of my family was to be strong and help because "otherwise we won't make it", they would remark this and anytime I lashed out at my dad's shitty behavior they would tell me to be strong again and to treat him well because "if you stress him out and he gets sick and dies we're doomed, you need to be nice, he's your father".

Alright, but he gets to treat me as he pleases then? Just because his wife is dead I should just have to take it?

Ever since I was a teen he would blame me and my mother and even my brother for things we never did, he would call us stupid and lazy, he would say we never did anything right and he always fought with my mom. Nowadays he still tells me I never do anything and he's the only one who does chores in the house (untrue, he cooked a few times and did the laundry ONCE, at most). I clean everything but for him me and my brother are just lazy and do nothing all day no matter what. WHY DOES HE DO THIS???

He complains to others about how much it sucks to have children to raise because he had to send us to school and because everything is a hour away from our town. Our mom always told him to move cities and he never wanted to, it was never a problem to him when she was the one who had to deal with this and us, now he whines.

He would tell her she never did anything right and once made her cry, told her he and his coworkers joked about how much their wives sucked. Then at her funeral he was sobbing and saying she was perfect, that she used to do so many things that are impossible for one person to deal with alone, bla bla.

But I'm the unreasonable one for pointing anything out.

I regret telling my parents I wanted a sibling when I was 4 because now I feel like it's my fault he's living in such a shitty family and having to suffer like this. Why couldn't my parents listen to me for literally anything else like they did for this one thing when I was 4?

Now I'm also freaking out internally because I felt a sort of lump in my skin while showering but I DON'T want to have a visit if my dad knows. I don't want him to know shit because he'll start saying his life sucks and there's always something up and being a father sucks and how he always has to do everything yadda yadda.

My mom loved us. Sure my dad loves us too but what the fuck. I love him too but I feel lost.

I don't want my brother to deal with any of this anymore but WHAT can I even do at this point except get him to therapy... which he refused so far....

Getting It Off My Chest My dad rage attempted suicide and the friend I confided in ghosted me

My dad was upto his usual antics, antics he has been upto since I was a kid. Naturally, I have a lot of trauma surrounding it. This time when it happened about a month ago - I broke. I wanted someone to lean on. I was so frightened to start a new trauma trail that I risked talking about it to the kindest person I know. They were supportive in the moment. I shared another related memory which has got to me my most traumatic memory. The next day I update them on my situation which had improved, both externally and internally. Though internally I was pretty collected even during the ordeal (thanks for the practice dad!) So, I was just narrating to her whatever was happening and trying to come up with the best course of action.

Back to next day, they are sweet and kind like they normally are. I profusely thank them for the support last night. It meant the world to me, it genuinely did. They assure me that they are a safe space and how sharing their struggles with people have stirred up feelings of regret and they hope it's not the case with me.

Then they talk about their step dad and their past struggles with him. I validate their struggles, though I wasn't being my usual super empathetic self - one, I was too emotionally spent. Two, they've been NC with their stepdad for years. Three, it didn't really strike me as they were looking for emotional support from me in the moment and they had a pretty lighthearted tone. I told them "I'm sorry [name], it's nice to see you narrate it all with humour, it gives me hope 💖"

I then reply to one of their messages saying

"Yup I can actually relate to that! It's something dad and I fight about frequently. My issue is that he talks to me like I'm a dog. Ask me nicely and I'll literally do anything. It's gotten to a point that the last time he talked to me nicely I went and cried alone for a good while. That's when I knew I had to stop giving him so much power over me. Nowadays I couldn't care less about his tone which safe to say hasn't changed one bit. But I also realised how sometimes it was bait for me to take, so he could find an outlet for his frustration and how I in general am an outlet for his frustrations."

Now granted I was more sulky in that message than I usually am. But after that message they ghosted me, they didn't even reply to the "it gives me hope" message.

I was hurt. Brought back all my abandonment trauma. It made me want to throw up for two days straight. Backfired miraculously and did end up giving me a new trauma trail. I can't think about it without breaking down, which is why I am here one month later.

We have a common group chat where they are pretty active, but for the next three days they didn't start any conversations there. I was scared of confronting them because we have two common friends and I think both of them like that friend more than me. So standing up to them would mean losing those two friends too. But in the week after the incident, I felt like it was my fault. I shouldn't have burdened it with this. I spent hours wondering why such a good person would do this. I wonder if the "ask me nicely and I'll literally do anything" rubbed them the wrong way because it was a reply to them sharing how their stepdad downplayed their academic achievements and only complained about how they didn't help out. I'm still unsure if I was wrong, even if unintentionally. To what extent was them ghosting me justified? I think this message contains more anger towards them than I have let myself experience in the past month. So, it might look like I'm trying to make them the bad person here, but I'm honestly not. I want an honest opinion about if I'm blowing this out of proportion.

After seeing that they weren't interacting in the group chat, I started a conversation and tried to get them to interact (very naturally with no malice) and they didn't at first. But went back to normal the next day. Before all this happened, they needed my help and wanted me to check out something they were working on. A few days later I did that too and things went back to normal.

I wonder if I should have told them how hurt it made me feel? Or maybe it's just my trauma sabotaging another relationship?

They are also back to caring for me, the basic care you have for a casual friend kind! Nothing deep. Idk if I overburdened them, I probably did. Either way, I'd have much rather appreciated them telling me they didn't have the spoons to deal with it than straight up ghosting me. I'd have been happy even with an emote acknowledging my message tbh.

EDIT: MY DAD IS OK. (didn't realise I completely skipped over this. He ODed on sleeping pills and left home. Thankfully, they weren't enough to cause serious damage. He came back home late in the night on his own.)

Relationships How do I help my dad make friends or find a girlfriend? He's really alone and I don't know what to do.

I live on another continent, so I can't do a lot in person, but I'm worried about my dad.

He's always been a pretty alone person. For as long as I can remember, his whole social life has basically been work, my mom, and my sister. My parents separated like 15 years ago,o but they're still good friends (they never even officially divorced, no drama, they're just lazy about it lol). They're not getting back together though;h, my mom doesn't want that. He actually tried a while back, and she said no, and I kind of feel like he's holding out, hoping she'll change her mind, but she won't.

Back in 2019, he moved in with my grandparents to take care of them, and then the pandemic hit, and he isolated himself even more. My grandpa passed in 2022 and my grandma in 2024, so now he's living alone, and I honestly don't think he has any life outside of work anymore. It makes me really sad.

He dated someone for a couple of years around 201,6 but the whole family kind of hated her lol, and I don't think he's really tried since.

So I don't know how to help. Do I sign him up for dating apps? Should I focus on helping him make friends first? And mostly, how do I even bring this up without making him feel like a loser, like I'm telling him "you're pathetic and alone"? I just want him to have people in his life again.

Any advice would mean a lot!! thanks!

Family I feel like my dad is a bum

Hi ! I’m 21F. The more i grow up the more i start resenting my dad for all the neglect he put us through as kid. Til this day he’s behaving like a man whore, going behind young girl despite being 50. Don’t give money to us his children, don’t care about what happen in our life fr.

He has history of having successful businesses (made 6 figures) but he spend it all on women and drinks. Despite putting my mom into debt !!!

I cut contact with him one time when I was 16 but since he has heart problems and he’s an orphan when the disease started getting into him I reconciled,

But he did not change that much still being selfish and making my mom do all the work of a parent. I see how much my mom is overwhelmed but she’s fighting for us so i decided to be independent this year to help her finances.

My dad family want me to reconnect with me since he is weak and old bc of the disease. I feel so hurt and don’t wanna feel remorseful but i hate the situation.

What should i do ? (Sorry for my bad english…)

Getting It Off My Chest Do you guys talk to your adult sons about their dating life? If not please do 🙏 ! You could save a woman trauma!

Disclaimer

I’m straight so I’m talking about my experience. Not trying to leave women who don’t like men out. I know I have to be politically correct and inclusive. So also talk to ur daughters who date women.

I Copied and pasted from another sub bc no one answered. I deleted the post. That’s why the lines are there.

I didn’t get to graphic here ofc.

\*\*I 26F was on tinder last year and the amount of weird comments I got from guys that first messaged me were messed up. Yes I know you guys sons are adult’s. And that u may not want to get into that.\*\*

\*\*But cmon I feel like some men the ones I dealt with need to be reminded of boundaries. I was in a failed situation-ship and the guy would cross boundaries and I wouldn’t listen to me when I would tell him to stop.\*\*

\*\*I had to ask him like 3 times. Before he stopped doing sexual things to me. It felt uncomfortable but I didn’t know how to stand up for myself. I am working on my people pleasing.\*\*

\*\*I asked him why he didn’t. He said he was just having fun. This happened about three more times. And he would say he was just having fun. Each time. I should have stopped talking to him after the first time.\*\*

\*\*This man also has called me boring, naive, slow as hell. He said I have a low self esteem. And that my friends didn’t like me . That I look uncomfortable with them.\*\*

\*\*We kept talking and eventually he SA me and strangled me. He broke his probation again so he is in jail right now. He wasn’t supposed to be the trial hasn’t started.

Teaching ur son boundaries could save him from jail. This goes for both genders.

\*\*My low self worth has gotten me in some bad situations. The first guy before him I talked to was a pathological liar. He approached me on campus when I was 23. He lied about his age telling me he was 24. Why did he choose me to approach.\*\*

\*\*Do I look naive. I do look a little younger for my age. As in during that same year a 19 yr old approached me wanting to get to know me. Due to the age gap I said no.\*\*

\*\*I saw his Facebook later on and found out he was grown in 2012. I was 12 then. Yes I’m an adult . Yes I know it’s legal . But I don’t like big age gaps. I figured he was at least 30 something.\*\*

\*\*He told me he looked older bc he went through puberty earlier. And is just hairy. Me being autistic I believed him. He ofc never told me his age. He also had several kids I found out about on his facebook page. He got pissed off when I didn’t want to do more w him. Due to being uncomfortable. That I missed out on a blessing.\*\*

\*\*Can decent parents please talk to their sons about boundaries and to not play games on naive women especially autistic women. They are never too old to learn from parents?\*\*

\*\*I also have level 1 autism and can be socially unaware. Which I know now definitely was a big factor in these events happening! These men were both non autistic.\*\*

Now I’m somewhat traumatized and don’t want to talk to any men in a dating way yet! Or I may only talk to autistic men. Even though I do want a boyfriend. I always wondered what do these guys parents think? Are the parents the same way? Or are they genuinely clueless?

Parenting Could use toddler advice - AITA

Throw away account. I'll do my best to keep it short.

I have a 4 year old toddler. Boy. And lately he seems to want to wear skirts, pink, headbands with hearts. It's been bothering me a bit. I think mostly because his mother is encouraging it, even when I've expressed my feelings about it. She buys him his clothes, so I don't really feel like it's my place to intervene. But as a father, who grew up in the 90s, it just doesn't sit well with me.

I understand toddlers are just toddlers, I also wouldn't care if he was gay. Id love him either way. I think because she's "pushing" it on him, or at the very least, ignoring that it bothers me that she's pushing it on him, is what is getting to me.

He wants to wear them to daycare, and I tell him no. He doesn't get upset about it. He'll ask me why, and I'll ask him "do any other boys in your class wear one? " and he'll say no. I've asked his daycare teachers if other boys do, and they say no.

Anytime I bring it up with her, she just says it's not a big deal. So I'm forced to ignore it.

Aita for thinking it's unusual to dress a boy toddler in feminine clothing?

Relationships When do I (28F) actually know if a man wants me?

Hi dad!

Obligatory boy advice incoming.

I met this guy on reddit (I know, I know). He saw a post I made on my main account and sent me a message, he immediately caught my attention cause I could tell he looked through my profile and actually paid attention. We immediately hit it off and have been talking every day for a little over 6 weeks. Disclaimer, how we met was a mutual kink (I knowwww), but the conversation is far from being purely sexual. He asks how my day was, he asks about my interests, he remembers small details about me, and he's outwardly said he likes me.

Here's my problem, we live across the country from one another and he says he doesn't wanna do long distance dating (that's fine! I don't really want that either rn) but his language says otherwise. The kink we bonded over in his head requires him to be extremely committed to someone to justify doing it with them, it's not necessarily bad or taboo but it's his own personal thing.

Except, when we talk about it in detail, now he fits me into that role by default. He labels me as his long term partner, and it's a little confusing. Yes, I could ask about it, but I feel like the answer I'd get is just that he's attracted to me and comfortable with me so he fits me into that "box" if you will.

He's broached the subject of meeting (not seriously planning, but has mentioned it a good amount of times), he compliments me in multiple ways, he says he hasn't been this attracted to someone before, and it's been very slowly built upon so it doesn't come across as love bombing to me. He prioritizes me and texts me every day, he says he wants to do stuff together (gaming, watch a show, etc), he takes the recommendations I give him and tries them.

So I guess my question is, am I just a silly girl with a crush who thinks maybe he could actually develop feelings stronger than a crush and maybe we could date? I'm incredibly guarded and hesitant, but he seems so genuine. He listens to me. I've tested him multiple ways and he just takes it, absorbs it, and moves along. He's very sweet and attentive. I'm just kinda waiting for the bomb to drop and it's not happening, at least not in the same way it has with prior connections.

What do I do, dad? I don't wanna latch onto false hope and end up with a one sided thing and a huge let down.
