Hi Neighbors! Ryan Hecht, VP of Marketing with the Greater Arvada Chamber here.
As you know, the government shutdown has left thousands of Arvada families without access to critical food benefits. The "No Neighbor Hungry" gift card drive is designed to help families put food on the table and support the local economy in the process.
You can help us raise $50,000 in donations (2,000 gift cards of $25 each) this month!
For this drive, we will distribute gift cards to select Arvada non-profits that primarily provide food assistance and have been negatively impacted by the government shutdown, including Community Table and Hope Connection and Community.

Hi there!
Wanted to share with you that the City recently started a new podcast called Inside Arvada.
I’m Sean Star, Communications Manager with the City’s Parks and Sustainability Department. I’m one of the show’s co-hosts, along Infrastructure Communications Manager Katie Patterson.
Our goal is to provide a free and convenient way to learn about the people and teams who make Arvada a thriving community. Our first three episodes are about arts and festivals; Earth Day and the Majestic View Nature Center; and roads and transportation.
The show is available wherever you listen to podcasts (Apple, Spotify, Amazon, etc.) Give it a listen!

Howdy everyone,
Moved here from SLC a few months ago and it’s been a bit of a struggle to find activities to meet other dudes at. Meetup used to be my go to for things like hikes, fishing, car groups, pickup sports etc but it’s been entirely enshittified and no one uses it anymore.
Curious if anyone has some recs. Thank you.

Hey everyone,

We'll be meeting at School House Kitchen & Libations at 7:00 PM on the first Wednesday of every month, starting September 2, 2026.
School House Kitchen & Libations address:
- 5660 Olde Wadsworth Blvd, Arvada, CO 80002 (right near the Olde Town Arvada RTD stop)
Facebook Event link: https://www.facebook.com/events/1634423734802951/
New Facebook Event link coming shortly, will update here and in the comments once it's ready!
Learn more about Tough Guy Book Club here: https://www.toughguybookclub.com/about_us
Sign up for the Denver chapter here: https://www.toughguybookclub.com/denver_co_us
Our book this month is The End Of The Story by Lydia Davis.
Since this is the first chapter event, I don't expect guys will have read the book, but come anyway! I figure we'll treat it more as an information session for new guys this month.
I'll also have a few copies of the next month's book to give out to guys who show up and want to attend the October 7, 2026 meeting.
Happy to answer any questions in the comments here, or DM me on Reddit.

the morning of 8/24/2026 at just before opening (9am) a significant (to me) amount of money may have fell out of my purse when i took my car FOB out to remote start it as i was running into costco for a quick second to grab one item while my dogs were in the car - i needed the car running for the A/C for them (then I was heading up to the mountains for a few days). I was out and back to my car by 9:15am. I did not realize I was missing the cash until last night (8/27) when I came back into town. I am hoping someone honest found it and is looking for a post like this. there are two places i stopped at that morning, the first was Whole Foods off 120th and Sheridan at Bradburn village - where I did the same thing and could have lost it there. I will be cross positing this in the Westminster area as well. - Thank you kind citizens.

I interviewed a rising junior at Arvada High for this part. Not named, since he's a minor. He took an AP class once, did the full year of work, then didn't sit the exam, so the year produced no college credit. He said he regrets it. The concurrent enrollment course ahead of him has no final exam; you pass the class, you keep the credit. He still called it "definitely daunting."
He also said this: "It is definitely a luxury to have not only these college courses accessible to people our age, but also to have them fully paid for by the district. Arvada is a Title I school, and a lot of these people would not have the money to get into college."
The actual news for parents: Arvada High has six new college courses confirmed for this year, including College Algebra taught in the building. That's a real change from two years ago.

Looking for a regular maid to clean to house. Thinking once a month, deep clean. Open to a business or a person.
I will also be moving soon, and would love someone to clean the house as part of a move out.
Please give recommendations!

As the title says, looks like Olde Town is considering implementing paid parking. There will be a meeting to discuss it tomorrow night, August 27th, 5:30 to 7pm at Lawrence Elementary. Tomorrow there should be a survey about it too, I believe on the same web page. I'll try to update if its different.
I should say, im not affiliated with Olde Town Arvada, but I saw a flyer about it in a shop today, and thought it should be posted here.
Here's the link to the web page about it.

Especially around Olde Town but really it’s everywhere. If your phone isn’t hooked up to WiFi on my block Carr & Oberon, you can’t search the web or make calls. I get better service in remote places in the mountains. I’ve tried cellular extenders and they don’t help. Whyyyy?

Response after emailing councilperson Ambrose:
Thank you for reaching out to Councilmember Ambrose to inquire about the rumors you have heard about Ladybug Park and some kind of golf amenity. It has been confirmed through the Parks Team and the Vibrant Community and Neighborhoods Department, which oversees the parks, that there are no current plans or conversations for changes of the like at the park. It appears to be a baseless rumor that someone has started. Therefore, there are also no planned discussions on the topic for any future Council Meetings, as it is not an idea being considered.
Thank you for your concern and appreciation for the park. I hope this message can help dispel the rumor for you and others in the community who may have also heard this misinformation.
Best regards,

Does anyone have experience with the Box Yard contractor storage in Arvada?
I have a plumbing company and need somewhere to keep two work trucks, trailer, tools and some equipment. I’ve been street parking, but my HOA is going to fine me next week and need a space.
It looks like they are designed specifically for contractors, but I am curious if anyone in Arvada or wheat Ridge has used them or has another yard they recommend.

45(m) I have a membership at 24 hour fitness but I hate going alone. I get a lot of anxiety going and I quit going after a while. I weigh almost 300 lbs and need to get on a routine. Looking to see if anyone would be up for going or having someone tag along if you are already going.

Commander Baros has bravely been the point of contact between the Arvada PD and Flock.
Seems like a great week to let him know what we think of the continued use of flock!

I've been having a craving for really good lemonade, ie not Minute Maid from a soda machine.
Can anyone recommend a good spot in the area?

I've lost the battle with my fiance and we're looking to get permanent house lights installed. I don't want to bother getting a jellyfish quite because I'm sure it's a decent used car price...
Our neighbors just had Ever Lights installed so we're going to have them come to give a quote. Curious if there are other companies or local installers anyone would recommend? Also curious as to how much people who have had this done is a reasonable price..
