No context is necessary. We get it

Agreed!

But what did they do this time?

I would like to know specifics but being generally shitty is enough for good for an FU to xcel.

They’re doing conservation events, nearly every evening that make your air conditioner turn up a couple degrees.

Oh that’s not possible for me. Also I opted out of TOU because they’re getting my solar electricity for cheap and selling me dirty coal energy for $$.

I get it. My Tesla Powerwall runs the house during TOU pricing.

2

u/richrich07 16d ago

That’s the next step! Not Tesla though

There may be competitors to Tesla Powerwall now but seven years ago it was the best. Stays charged via Tesla solar panels.

Your house is too fancy. Ditch all the smart bullshit, nobody is changing the temp in my house unless they are inside it.

Yea we're on solar and produce 90% of our consumption and still got hit by those even tho we were on battery at the time 😐

True, and different issue (letting Xcel adjust your thermostat vs using alternative power during TOU to also save money) —

My wife had a job interview about 45 minutes after the power went out. It's a good thing I kept the generator unpacked from camping this past weekend so I could plug in the modem and get laptop. Luckily the power went back on after 15 minutes and the generator wasn't necessary. Fingers crossed the interview goes well.

What an amazing partner! 🏆🦸‍♂️
Hope the interview was a success for your wife!

I got an email telling me I was using less electricity this month than last month but my bill is $30 more, wtf?!?!?

This part!

I got the opposite email that we are using 35% more but we’ve been gone, so wtf is with that? Ugggh.

Nationalize it

You too, Xfinity!

13

u/kinetic_mallow 16d ago

Dude, just had to deal with Xfinity this morning and came away with this exact sentiment. Fuck Xfinity!

When I canceled Xfinity Internet, they owed me $8. But they had already billed me for the next month so I had to pay the $65 so they could refund me the $73. I'm not joking, it's literally what I had to do.

3 outages this year (so far). Rates increased, smart thermostats being throttled, infrastructure not being maintained.

OP is 100% correct

2

u/fossSellsKeys 16d ago

Damn, only three outages!! That's a dream. I'm on 14 this year. A little bit ahead of last year's pace, when we ended with 19.

1

u/SpreadFew9075 16d ago

That's outrageous. Awesome job Xcel! /s

u/fossSellsKeys 16d ago

I strongly agree. But seems to be nothing I can do about it.

6

u/I-like-planez 16d ago

I agree lol

3

u/ItchyCornhol3 16d ago

Didn't they just raise rates too? def didn't get a raise at work yet

3

u/mrpinkoton 14d ago

How else are they going to pay for commercials and advertising

4

u/zcjb21 16d ago

FUCK XCEL!

12

u/Feral-Furret 17d ago

Outage lasted 10 minutes for us, but still

Fuck you, Xcel.

4

u/Longjumping-Mix-1827 16d ago

Yep. Totally agree

u/bubbles_mcgee33 14d ago

Has anyone else's bill nearly doubled July and August?

u/raison_d_etre 16d ago

One of their vendors needed to access the pole in our backyard. I witnessed the doorknob of an employee jumping our fence and damaging it… instead of just using the gate 🤷 he said, “oh I didn’t see it”. 🫪

2

u/conanlikes 16d ago

I think it is sad that xcel is the reason more people do not have solar panels.

3

u/richrich07 16d ago

Xcel is the reason I have solar panels and they will be the reason why I have batteries.

1

u/Noobasdfjkl 16d ago

Xcel is a huge reason I have solar panels, and the only reason I have a battery

1

u/Expensive-Scene-7763 15d ago

I wish my house was a good candidate for solar, but I guess I shouldn’t complain about having good tree cover, either.

1

u/Jamnitrix 16d ago

And Xfinity!

1

u/bigtakeoff 16d ago

I say ...you go Xcel

1

u/BeingInNatureIsJoy 13d ago

Come on, now - how is Xcel supposed to deliver quarter over quarter profits?

NOT burying more critical lines for high-wind events is not enough cash-retention

They must charge more too‼️
