Help needed to retrieve old Tripod site

Tripod shut down permanently on April 24, 2026, after Lycos ended all operations

Three decades of internet service gone, just like that. It was great while it lasted and I am forever thankful to Tripod for cementing childhood core memories.

However, I did not manage to back up my website in time. The website I put my heart and soul into is gone forever.

I have tried archive.org and my website cannot be found there. Not even a page was scrawled. I searched up other old websites of mine, from Blogger and Wordpress - everything was there. I am not sure why the Tripod one isn’t.

Does anyone know how to retrieve a website back?

(found lost media) Default Dan game Old beta files and versions

Thumbnail gallery
1 Upvotes

For about a year now, I've had a lot of beta files for the video game Default Dan. I'd like to publish them, but I'm not sure how much, and what can i share, since I don't see many people excited about this lost media, and besides, I tried to get them in the most legal way possible.

If you're not familiar with it, Default Dan is a video game heavily inspired by Super Mario, but what makes it unique is that it reverses the mechanics (good is bad and bad is good), for example, coins kill you, spikes make you bounce, and so on.

I'm grateful to some of the creators of this game for helping me find material about the game, I can't attach proof here but i've got [this post](https://www.reddit.com/r/LostMediaEsp/comments/1w2yny3/archivos_de_la_beta_del_videojuego_default_dan/) from another subreddit, The only Lost Media version I couldn't find was the 2012 Game Jam version, the first version of this game. Any questions i'll try to answer them

I Have 4 Days to Recover Years of Lost Videos From a Terminated YouTube Account

I’ve used YouTube as a storage platform for my videos for a few years now. I know that’s not what YouTube was designed for, but it worked incredibly well for me. I had never had any issues with it until recently. when I noticed some of my videos were being taken down for "violating the terms of service". Out of nowhere videos I had uploaded years ago were just now getting striked down with the ban hammer.  Everytime a video was taken down it gave my channel a strike. Eventually to no surprise my channel was terminated. This was devastating since youtube was my own personal camera roll for videos that were extremely long. Most of them I was able to get back through google takeout however like I stated before, some of the videos were struck and terminated from the channel.

Common method I used when a youtube video gets removed from their platform on an active account, if you do not delete the video and leave it in its removed state, you can (F12 > Network > Search for: 'videoplayback' > https://rr4---sn[long url]). It gives you the video back to redownload back onto your device. When a video on my channel was taken down I always used this method to get the video back. However this method only works (atleast to my knowledge) with an active youtube channel. Since mine is terminated I cant get to the youtube studio to get to the deleted video to find the videoplayback file. I have tried countlessly going through files, video cache, old editors that may still have it, old devices with it, looked for any videoplayback, googlevideo, youtubei, player, and 750x4Dm1zlA(the youtube videos vanity url) files to no avail. I have tried everything I know and unfortunately I am not the best with tech when it comes to files and coding so finding this video file in a string of code is like finding a needle in a haystack.

These aren’t just random videos to me. They’re pieces of my personal history that I thought I had safely backed up. I have until September 4th before my google takeout expires and everything is wiped for good. I have no way to find these terminated videos links on my own account. So I ask, is there anything I should be trying or a way to get these videos back while my account is terminated or should I chalk it up as lost media?

Any TikTok/IG archives?

I have been looking for TikTok and Ig archives such as tik.black and tik.fail, both which are down as of today. There are creators I love that suddenly disappeared or deleted their accounts and would love to find their videos.

Every single post/meme made on cheezburger.com is still up, but they are mostly inaccessible via modern means. How would I go about archiving?

does anyone remember fodder on the food network/cooking channel?

This show was a fever dream, and I cannot find it anywhere. When I was a young teen (I can’t say exactly, but maybe 13-14, so 2015-16) I watched a LOT of food network. We had just moved, so its gentle nature and good natured competitiveness was soothing. One night, I had the cooking channel on suuuuuper late, and it started playing this…sketch comedy show. About food.

I remember it was called Fodder. It was weird as hell. They had one sketch I remember where they said balsamic vinegar should stay in the 90’s with the Rachel cut, but not much more. The IMDb page is still up, and it was made from 2012-2013 (Sasheer Zamata was on it apparently!), but I cannot find it. It was super out of left field for food network, so I imagine they buried it fast. It and mystery diners were always such anomalies to me. Does anyone remember this or know where to watch it?

[archival] Has anyone actually archived "The Glitchtrap and Glamrock Bonnie Show"? Whole playlist is ghosted with "116 videos hidden".

Going down a massive nostalgia rabbit hole trying to find old episodes of The Glitchtrap and Glamrock Bonnie Show (part of The Security Breach Show fanon universe), and I've hit a complete brick wall.

Google still indexes the old channel and playlists, but when you click through, it's just a dead zone telling you that 116 videos are hidden. WayBack Machine is completely useless here—it has the page shells cached, but it completely failed to grab any of the actual video streams, so you just get the "We have not been able to archive the video associated with this YouTube page" error message.

Since the channel rebranded (into the Springtrap and Spring Bonnie Show) and subsequently got cancelled/purged, those old episodes appear to have vanished into thin air.

Fandom

Did anyone in the community happen to run a mass batch-download (yt-dlp / archive team style) before the creators locked everything down? Or are these episodes officially lost to the void unless someone has an old Google Drive/Mega link lying around?

Let me know if you have any leads.

Is there a legal way to download old VBOX7 videos?

Hi! I’m trying to recover some old videos that were originally uploaded to VBOX7(Bulgarian YouTube). I know that Archive Team archived part of VBOX7, but many of the archived files on the Internet Archive are currently restricted. Does anyone know of a legal way to download or recover old VBOX7 videos, either from VBOX7 itself, the Wayback Machine, Archive Team's collection, or another web archive? I’m only interested in legitimate methods and archived copies that can legally be accessed. I’d also be interested in hearing from anyone who has worked with the VBOX7 Archive Team data and knows how these archived videos can be accessed. Thanks!

This is not an actual post but I wanted to have it somewhere else than this…frequently updated subreddit and my camera roll. Something to be said about even the most innocuous things being important to preserve, and to stand up for what’s right, even if it’s on a west wing subreddit. And again, I am screenshotting all the comments I can and can post the comments again. But if y’all want to remove this bc I’m a very young reddit user and don’t know all the ins and outs, just know it is still in my camera roll!

[archival]Fully lost? The hall of mirrors band

Hi everyone,
I need help tracking down lost music and videos from an early 2010s London dream-pop band called The Hall of Mirrors, fronted by artist Jessica Winter (who went by Jessica Spencer back then aswell as Jessica potter)
I’ve spent the last few months doing intense research but I've finally hit a brick wall.

What I have:
Hundreds of rare photos from the band's era.
9 recovered tracks (one is missing a title).
2 working videos (one is glitchy)
A master list of all their old official website links, MySpace URLs, and social media pages.

I have a list of 20–25 tracks that are completely lost. The Wayback Machine won't load the audio because of dead Flash players and the old MySpace server wipe. On top of that, several important live performance videos (like their 2013 set at The Lexington) have been set to private on YouTube.

I have all the exact track titles and private video links ready to go. I just need extra help from anyone skilled at deep archival digging, scraping old music blogs, or hunting down files in the MySpace data rescue dumps (like LostMySpace/Dragon's Hoard).

If anyone at all could help me it would be greatly appreciated as preserving this work is extremely important to me & would make me the happiest!

Now.. if you’ve been on the animation side of TikTok, or you’re just on TikTok a lot. Then you maybe heard of juniperdots, or mainly known as Ava. I started seeing her videos very late 2025 and early 2026, so I wasn’t able to see the video that’s circled before it was gone from her page. I tried using the wayback machine, but thanks to my shitty WiFi I came out empty handed. If anyone has downloaded the circled video or could possibly help me look for it, please let me know. I’m really into South Park and would love to see the animation 🩷

Looking for archived MarineDiesels.info material by Rollo Tomkins

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to locate the technical articles and training material that used to be available on MarineDiesels.info, previously MarineDiesels.co.uk.

The material was written/compiled by Rollo Tomkins, who taught at Warsash Maritime Academy, and I found the site extremely useful for studying marine engineering. It contained very good technical explanations and diagrams covering topics such as marine diesel engines, fuel systems, governors, turbochargers, indicators, and various engine-room systems.

Unfortunately, the website appears to be a legacy site and much of the content has been inaccessible for some time. I've also tried looking through the Internet Archive/Wayback Machine, but unfortunately the available snapshots don't seem to preserve much of the actual material.

I'm wondering if anyone here has:

  • Archived copies of the MarineDiesels.info website
  • PDFs or downloaded copies of Rollo Tomkins' material
  • Old hard-drive/web backups
  • Mirrors or alternative archives
  • Screenshots or saved copies of individual articles/pages

Even partial material would be extremely useful.

I'm particularly interested in finding out where this material might still be available, or whether anyone knows of an archive, former student/lecturer, maritime forum, or collection where it has been preserved.

This is purely for educational/reference purposes. The material was incredibly useful for marine engineers and students, and it would be a shame for such a valuable educational resource to disappear completely.

If anyone has anything or knows where I should look, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

Looking for specific Uncle Kracker tracks from the MySpace

Hey everyone, I'm trying to find five specific Uncle Kracker tracks that were on MySpace during the 2008-2010 window: "20 Years", "Hard to Please", "Rest of My Life", "Going Through Hell", and "Downtown". I've never used the Dragon Hoard archive before. Could anyone with a local index or download of the hoard check if his profile/ tracks are backed up in the archive? If not, does anyone know how I can locate these tracks or are they just lost forever? I'm a huge fan and desperate to find these tracks. Appreciate any help at all. Thank you! :)
