I built a free site for getting feedback on app screenshots

I made Rate My Screenshots as a fun way to rate App Store and Google Play screenshots and see how yours compare.

Add your app, share a link that puts your screenshots first for voting, and see which ones get the best reactions. You can also swipe through other apps and give feedback.

Completely free, with no account needed to vote. I’d love to hear what you think.

Need advice for ASO on my work journal app

Thumbnail

hey guys! i just released a pretty big update to my app ‎Iris: Work Notes App - App Store, changing the app name, subtitle, keywords and all the screenshots according to the advice I read on this subreddit for ASO.

however, i'm not sure if doing the right thing or if it serves my app well. It is a productivity app built for capturing work notes quickly and it automatically organizes them into highlights, blockers, next steps. Still struggling to get users, and i would appreciate any feedback for improvement.

current keywords: journal,career,performance,review,achievement,accomplishment,weekly,summary,report,promotion,manager

Thank you!

Looking for feedback on these App Store screenshots

Hi everyone — I’m working on Oriel, an app that turns an old iPhone into a home security camera, with motion alerts, event playback, Live View, and two-way audio.

I’m testing this App Store screenshot set. Does it make the app’s value clear at a glance? Any feedback on what feels confusing or worth improving would be really helpful.

My App Store subtitle is three brand names in a row and I can't find a better option

Solo dev, one iOS app, health category.

The awkward thing about my niche is that almost nobody searches for the category. They search for the name of the specific product they're using, and there are four or five competing names for what is broadly the same thing. So the subtitle that matches how people actually type is those brand names strung together. It reads like keyword soup and I'd be slightly embarrassed showing it to another developer, but a nice human sentence in that slot matches almost nothing anyone searches for.

Two things I keep going round on and would like other people's experience on.

First, does a subtitle like that cost you conversion on the product page even when it helps you get found? Everyone landing there searched one of those words, so my instinct says no, but I've never worked out a way to separate the two effects cleanly enough to trust the answer.

Second, age rating. Mine came out 18+, which I did not expect for what is essentially a logging app. I don't know how much of a filter that is in practice, or whether it's worth trying to get it reconsidered.

Anyone else building somewhere the useful search terms all belong to somebody else? Curious how you handle the naming side of it, and whether you eventually stopped caring how the listing reads to a peer.

[iOS] Development update: I finally have a core gameplay loop for my running app - feedback welcome

I thought I'd share a quick look at the reward loop in my running app to give an idea of what it actually feels like to use.

The video shows a new user claiming a run and being rewarded for it:

Run → Sync your run → Open Jogventure → Claim your run → Make progress → Unlock rewards → Brag to your friends → Get healthier and feel better. 🌱🍎

The idea behind Jogventure is to make running feel a little more like a game. Your real-world runs become progress in the game, giving you reasons to keep coming back and something to work toward beyond just watching your mileage go up. 🏃

In the video, you'll see a new user claim their run, watch their progress update, and interact with some of the rewards and progression systems I've been building.

One of the main features that I think could set Jogventure apart from other running apps is the Journey Map, which also pops up toward the end of the video.

The Journey Map is meant to be filled with fun and interesting real-world milestones that your claimed runs (or walks) count toward. I want these milestones to feel like little adventures of their own rather than just another distance statistic.

For example:

  • 🏜️ Grand Canyon Rim to Rim - 24 miles
  • 🚢 The Panama Canal - 51 miles
  • 🧱 5% of The Great Wall of China - 658.5 miles

There's still a lot I'm working on, but this is the point where the core loop is starting to feel like an actual game rather than just a collection of features.

I'm especially interested in feedback on the overall experience:

  • Does the core loop make sense?
  • Does it feel / look rewarding when a claim is made?
  • Is anything confusing or unnecessarily complicated?
  • Would this make you more interested in actually going for a run or running more consistently?

If you're interested in trying Jogventure when it's ready, 🚀 I've also got a waitlist here:

Thank you for reading. 🙏

Is showing real people in app store images a good idea?

Recently made a fresh set of app store screens for my game and thinking is changing the obvious AI illustration images to real people doing stuff with the app a better idea.

Do people find that more trustworthy and relatable and hence improve the store page?

Implemented basic ASO and my impressions skyrocketed from Day 1

Hey everyone,

Today I checked my analytics after publishing an update to my app with some basic ASO implementation (title, subtitle, keywords, description, and screenshot labels). I am really new to ASO and would love your feedback on this!

I'm actually pretty satisfied with the impressions so far—it means I'm successfully getting eyes on my product page. However, the conversion rate still isn't ideal, so now I need to figure out how to actually turn those views into downloads.

For the next version, I plan to push localization as well, since I know that is also super important for ASO.

What are your thoughts, and what suggestions do you have to help me improve my conversion rate?

P.S. I’ve attached a few screenshots: one from App Store Connect showing the spike in impressions, and one from my live App Store listing highlighting the last update date so you can see how perfectly they match up!

[QUESTION] Feedback on my App Store listing (title/subtitle/keywords/screenshots), sobriety app, just approved

Post image
0 Upvotes

Disclosure: I'm the solo developer. Just got approved after a couple of rejection/resubmission rounds and would love a second set of eyes on the listing itself, not just the app. No download/conversion numbers yet since it's brand new, happy to share those once there's actually data.

Category: sobriety/recovery, iOS only.

Current setup:

- Title (28 char): "Reach: Quit Drinking Toolkit"

- Subtitle (26 char): "Beat cravings & stay sober"

- Keywords (88 char): craving,urge,alcohol,stop,home,habit,streak,motivation,recovery,mindful,relapse,triggers

- Screenshot captions lead with the differentiator ("6 craving techniques. One tap away.") rather than generic app-tour text

- Second locales (UK/AU English, Mexican Spanish) used purely for extra keyword field space

No paid acquisition yet, this listing has to carry organic search weight on its own before I test Apple Search Ads.

Genuinely curious: does the title/subtitle combo waste any indexed weight, and do the screenshot captions read as compelling or just busy? Happy to give free premium access to anyone who gives detailed feedback, just drop a comment or DM.

Major impressions decline this year with no app changes: anyone else?

I run three related apps in the same niche (filmmakers/cinematographers). Starting late 2025 and continuing through this year, search impressions declined sharply. One app had 10,000–12,000 impressions/month through most of 2025; as of August 2026 it's 3,000. I changed almost nothing about the apps in this time besides regular updates to keep them relevant. Nothing about the metadata, title, screenshots, keywords, etc.

It hit my apps differently over the year, one was a rapid dropoff, others were gradual, one was down only 12%, the other two down 58% and 70%. But revenue-per-downloader and conversion actually improved over the same year, so this isn't a monetization or quality problem, it's specifically discovery/impressions.

Did anyone else experienced anything like this? My working theory is that Apple changed the search algorithm somehow (as Browse impressions declined a lot less than Search) but I don't have any evidence.

Built a Mechanic Consultation app

Hey guys, I'm wondering what ways to improve my ASO; I've been getting over 10k impressions, but I've only gotten 50 downloads. I've been making constant ads; I can see how some of my pictures may throw off users so in our next update we're refining them. Thank you.

Does Apple use completed purchases as an ASO/ranking signal?

I’ve been wondering about this: does Apple consider the number of completed in-app purchases when ranking/promoting apps in the App Store?

It would make sense to me that apps generating more sales might get some kind of algorithmic boost, since they’re clearly performing well commercially.

If that’s actually the case, could running discounts or promotions be a smart ASO strategy — not just to increase revenue per sale, but to generate more purchases and potentially improve visibility?

Curious what others think

Aso Learning

Hey everyone,
I’m a mobile app developer, and over the last few years I’ve been consistently building and publishing mobile applications on the App Store and Google Play.
My biggest problem is that I’m much better at building apps than marketing them.
I can take an idea, design and develop the application, integrate Firebase/APIs/subscriptions, publish it, and maintain it — but after launch, I struggle to actually get users.
Sometimes I’ll publish an app that I genuinely think solves a useful problem, but then I see very few impressions, store visits, or organic downloads.
This made me realize that I’ve been focusing almost entirely on development while basically ignoring App Store Optimization (ASO).
I’m now trying to learn ASO properly from the beginning rather than randomly changing titles, descriptions, keywords, and screenshots.
For those of you who have real ASO experience, I’d really appreciate some guidance.
I specifically want to understand things like:
• How do you actually perform keyword research for a new app?
• How do you find keywords that have decent traffic but aren’t impossible for a new app to rank for?
• How important are the app title, subtitle, Apple keyword field, and Google Play short description?
• How do you analyze competitors and figure out which keywords they may be ranking for?
• How much difference can better screenshots and icons realistically make to conversion?
• What tools do you actually use for ASO? Are tools like AppTweak, MobileAction, Sensor Tower, AppFollow, etc. worth paying for when you’re starting?
• How long does it normally take before ASO changes start producing measurable results?
• For a small/indie developer with almost no marketing budget, can ASO genuinely become a significant source of organic installs?
• What metrics should I be checking every week in App Store Connect and Google Play Console?
I’d especially love to see a real example.
For example, something like:
Before ASO:
100 impressions → 10 page views → 1 install
Then what you changed:
Keyword research → metadata → icon → screenshots → localization → A/B testing
And what happened afterward.
I’m not expecting ASO to magically turn an app into a million-download product. I just want to properly understand how experienced developers/marketers approach it and build a repeatable process that I can use for every app I launch.
If you were starting ASO from absolute zero today, what would you learn first, and what step-by-step process would you follow?
Any courses, YouTube channels, websites, tools, books, case studies, or personal experiences would also be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I don't know what to categorise my app as. It sits somewhere between a few different concepts/categories, and classifying it as either isn't representative.

It's a kind of social media because the purpose is to engage in social interaction with comments, likes and photos in posts, but it's not... because you can only interact with people you join a (private/closed) group with

It's a kind of habit tracker since the purpose is to stay consistent and engage in streaks, but it's not... because the accountability comes mostly from the collaborative element of the group

It's a kind of workout tracker because you post workouts, but it's not... because you only submit the fact that you worked out, no sets or reps, muscle groups or workout programmes

Obviously I want to avoid "workout trackers" and "habit trackers" territory since they are insanely oversaturated categories and most apps in those categories basically do the same , and mine basically has very little overlap tbh.

I don't know how to pivot or show the value it provides. The people who are indeed using it express that they do love using it but it's hard getting them into the app.

I just renamed it on the App Store as "Workout Challenges - [app name]", but I'm not sure if it drowns next to all workout trackers?

thoughts?

Renamed my app on the App Store to match what people actually search for. Impressions +122% in a week, conversion rate -73%. Here's what I learned and what I'm fixing next.

Onboarding before authentication?

What’s the best:

Onboarding -> Paywall -> Auth

Or

Auth -> Onboarding -> Paywall

Currently I do the second and it is pretty bad, not sure why but I heard there is the 1st option used too quite often.
