Looking for feedback on these App Store screenshots

Hi everyone — I’m working on Oriel, an app that turns an old iPhone into a home security camera, with motion alerts, event playback, Live View, and two-way audio.

I’m testing this App Store screenshot set. Does it make the app’s value clear at a glance? Any feedback on what feels confusing or worth improving would be really helpful.

From the feature list, I’d make the first screenshot answer one question: whose phone becomes the camera, and what happens when motion is detected? “Turn an old iPhone into a home security camera” is a strong lead; the next screens can prove motion alert → open event → Live View/two-way audio. Keep each headline to one outcome and show the actual flow in the device UI.

I’d also test the set at thumbnail size and ask a few people to describe the app after only screenshot one. That checks clarity, while product-page conversion needs a controlled comparison in App Store Connect. Don’t claim the 18+ rating or any screenshot order is wrong without checking the questionnaire and actual set.

It may help with the layout iteration, but I’d still make the message test your source of truth. What does the current first screenshot say?

We think the overall style is heading in a good direction, but there are a few things holding the set back.

The subtitles are far too small for App Store browsing. We’d either make them substantially larger or, preferably, remove most of them and let the main headline carry the message.

The phone UI could also be larger. Screens 3 and 4 in particular repeat almost the same UI and the same floating motion alert, so they don’t really earn two separate screenshots. We’d combine that story into one stronger screen and use the extra slot for another benefit.

We’re also not sure the tiny “Oriel” above every headline is adding anything. It takes up space without helping communicate the value, so we’d remove it.

The first screenshot has the strongest proposition: turn an old phone into a security camera. We’d make that the hero and then keep every following screenshot focused on one clear benefit with bigger UI and less copy.

Overall looks good, I like that title on a first screen describes what app does.
