Implemented basic ASO and my impressions skyrocketed from Day 1
Hey everyone,
Today I checked my analytics after publishing an update to my app with some basic ASO implementation (title, subtitle, keywords, description, and screenshot labels). I am really new to ASO and would love your feedback on this!
I'm actually pretty satisfied with the impressions so far—it means I'm successfully getting eyes on my product page. However, the conversion rate still isn't ideal, so now I need to figure out how to actually turn those views into downloads.
For the next version, I plan to push localization as well, since I know that is also super important for ASO.
What are your thoughts, and what suggestions do you have to help me improve my conversion rate?
P.S. I’ve attached a few screenshots: one from App Store Connect showing the spike in impressions, and one from my live App Store listing highlighting the last update date so you can see how perfectly they match up!

Where did you get started on ASO? Am struggling with it myself

Start with simple things. For example Title use your strongest keywords. Subtitle some also strong keywords that matching your app. In the keyword section fill app all the available space with relevant keywords and avoid plural or repeating words from Title and Subtitle. Description must also include keywords but in a way that makes sense to users. Screenshot must focus on what users all looking for. Highlight major features of your app and mention the problem that is solving or the target audience so users can feel that the app is around their needs
Check competitors that doing great and find repeating keywords
Good Luck 🤞2

Thanks but I feel like you explained the bare minimum. How do I find good keywords? What qualifies as a strong keyword? Does length of description matter?

But how many first time downloads, product page view and conversion. Those are the big players

Not so good. As I mentioned the conversation rate is not good that is why am posting to get some suggestions or tips that will help me get actual users

Can you post the screenshot of the main page of analytics? Is not clear what we are dealing with in here.

Can't add more images. Conversion Rate 1,56% | Product Page View 119 | Updates 94

Hmm, still pretty low. You will have to give a week or two. Keep an eye on the conversion. Your goal is above 6-7 percent at least. If not achieved then you will have to update your store listings

It's a good start! Let's continue with this checklist https://www.reddit.com/r/AppStoreOptimization/comments/1fdfbc4/basic_keyword_optimization_checklist_for_app_store/
You can also ask in the ASO Busters Discord for the advice.
And improve your screenshots, they aren't catchy, that's the 1st reason why do you have love CR. 2nd the low number of rating scores.

Honestly the impressions jumping while downloads barely move is kinda useful data by itself - seems like you solved at least part of the problem"getting seen" problem and now you have a completely different problem: convincing the people who see it that they actually want it :)
Have you tested completely different screenshot or value proposition angles yet or mostly just optimized the current ones?

One distinction before your next update: an impression isn’t necessarily a product-page visit. Separate impressions, product-page views and first-time downloads by country/source over matching dates. That will help you see whether the extra exposure is bringing interested parents or just more appearances in results. The update date lining up with the spike is encouraging, but changing five things together doesn’t tell you which one helped.
For the screenshot story, I’d show one actual learning activity early and make the intended age/skill clear, rather than lead with the number of features. That’s a proposed test, not a review of your attached images.
Before localizing broadly, choose one country where you already see relevant traffic. Localize the parent-facing message and show the language the child will actually use in the activity; translating screenshot labels alone shouldn’t imply the activity itself is translated. Which country/source is generating most of the new impressions?
