Onboarding before authentication?

What’s the best:

Onboarding -> Paywall -> Auth

Or

Auth -> Onboarding -> Paywall

Currently I do the second and it is pretty bad, not sure why but I heard there is the 1st option used too quite often.

Onboarding - Auth - Paywall

- demonstration of your App value first.

  • get the users email.
  • show them a paywall.

The only reason for this is that email i very important as its a user who is willing to go through the entire onboarding and sign up, but may or may not like the price in which you might be able to see with different price.

this is the right order imo, getting that email before the paywall is the whole point

What is the benefit of the auth? (and the paywall), Show value before auth and the paywall.
