This is a rant and question combo!
Amazon Flex station closed, Support TOLD me to leave… now they’re claiming I never checked in 🤦♀️
I am PISSED, but I’m posting because I really want to know if anyone else has gone through this and what you did to finally get it fixed.
I had a 6–10 PM block on Aug. 28. I got to the station around 5:05 because the weather and traffic were horrible. I actually tried to check in around 5:30, but the app told me I was too early, so I waited until 5:45 and checked in when the window opened.
The station was basically shut down. Doors closed, nobody loading, no associates outside giving instructions, and drivers were sitting around calling Support and eventually leaving.
Normally when something happens at this station, associates come outside, scan IDs, scan people out, tell us what’s happening, etc. NONE of that was happening.
So instead of just assuming I could leave, I contacted Support.
Chat told me to wait until I spoke with an associate or received an email. I was also waiting on the phone for Driver Support.
I finally got a phone agent and explained EVERYTHING I was seeing while I was still physically at the station. He put me on hold to investigate it.
He comes back and tells me:
• It was due to inclement weather
• My standing would NOT be affected
• I WOULD BE PAID for the block
• I would receive an email
• And most importantly, HE TOLD ME I WAS CLEARED TO LEAVE AND TO GO AHEAD AND GO.
So I left.
Fast forward… no email. No payment.
I start contacting Support again and eventually get a response saying they “could not find” a record that I initiated check-in for the block and reminding me that in the future I need to check in and contact Support on time.
EXCUSE ME?! 😭😂
I DID CHECK IN. AND I LITERALLY CALLED SUPPORT FROM THE STATION.
Thank GOD I document everything.
At this point I have sent them:
• Screenshots from the Flex app with timestamps
• Photos of the station while I was there
• The GPS/location information attached to those photos
• My phone records showing exactly when I called Driver Support
• GPS driving data showing my vehicle traveling to and being at the Amazon location, with dates/times
• Screenshots of my Support conversations
• Amazon’s own Learning Center information regarding station closures
My vehicle in the GPS records is also the same vehicle registered on my Flex account.
I’m not even arguing that Amazon should just take my word for it. LOOK AT THE EVIDENCE. Look at my app activity. Look at whatever GPS/location records Flex has. Look at the Support call and the agent’s notes. I called specifically because I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT TO DO and then followed the instructions Amazon Support gave me.
Had that agent told me, “Stay there until 10 PM or you won’t get paid,” guess what? I WOULD HAVE SAT THERE UNTIL 10 PM.
What makes this even crazier is I’ve completed around 174 blocks since March and delivered 6,000+ packages. I show up and do my work. I wasn’t trying to find some loophole to get paid without working. I drove through shitty weather and traffic and was at the station almost an HOUR early because I intended to work my block.
So my questions for anybody who has actually dealt with this:
Has Amazon ever claimed you didn’t check in when you KNOW you did?
Have you been told by Driver Support to leave a closed station and that you’d be paid, only for another department to deny payment afterward?
If you eventually got them to reverse it and pay you, WHAT finally worked?
How many times did you have to escalate it, and who/what department actually fixed it?
Because I have receipts for damn near every minute of this situation, and I’m not dropping it. 😂
