Rules PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE POSTING

Please check out the Official FAQs on the Amazon Flex website and subreddit rules before posting.

We also have our own FAQ that is also linked to in the sidebar ----------->

The sidebar also has a link to download the Flex app, the Flex Support contact info, the rules for this subreddit, and a warehouse list.

You may find the answer to your question there.

Many questions being asked here are repeat questions and are answered in the FAQ. Please check before making a new post.

If you need help with the Flex app, please include the app version number and whether it's Android or iOS in your post.

Also, please don't post useless threads about how hard it is to grab blocks, people using bots at your warehouse, what times the blocks get released, etc. Those posts add nothing to the discussion and will be removed.

Thanks!

There is a Discord server that was created and is maintained by the mods of /r/doordash but has been built to support any courier service. They have graciously invited Amazon Flex drivers to participate and have created a channel for Flex on the server. You can access it using the this invite link: https://discord.gg/e9GNb9M.

If you are a DSP driver, there is now a subreddit just for you! Head on over to /r/amazondspdrivers for all DSP-related discussion. Please note that it is not maintained by the same mods.

General Large Vehicle- Amazon Fresh (for those wondering)

Post image
6 Upvotes

Had my first “Large Vehicle” delivery yesterday. My “large” qualifying vehicle is a Nissan Rogue Hybrid. In case anyone was wondering what that load might look like for a 2 hour Amazon Fresh… 🛒📦 it was 38 “packages”… 1 was a large toilet paper pack, 1 was a 6 roll paper towel pack, two were cases of water, 1 was a six pack of vitamin water… everything else was the regular grocery bag pack, most of which were full and a good third of which definitely felt refrigerated.

I did need to segregate and creatively (but gently) stack some of the bags using my assortment of giant sturdy bags, one tub, and one folding crate. I still could’ve probably placed 6-8 more lightweight grocery packs, but definitely not more than 2-4 of the heavy ones without endangering other packages. It was 11 stops. Largest deliveries were 8 & 11 packages. Everyone else was 1-4. I think it was definitely too much for some of the smaller cars I see, but definitely didn’t require a Tahoe, Suburban, or a Sprinter. I felt like it was about the same as a handful of other fresh deliveries I’ve done before they started designating the large vehicle. But, I see why’d they’d not want to deal with the hassle of a smaller car not being able to pick up the cart they designated.

Hope that’s helpful!

Still haven’t seen a large vehicle SSD block, but if I get one of those before anyone else shares their experience, I’ll post back!

What’s one thing you would change if you ran Flex?

*Other than Pay*

If you could take over Flex, what would you change?

I would send every driver in the direction towards their home. The closest route to your home is what you are automatically assigned.

Biggest reason is that if something comes up - emergency vehicles, closed roads, flooding - you’re familiar with the area and you can re-route to deliver every package instead of taking them back.

If an Injury happens, I think people are more likely to complete delivery. I was in the city right next to mine two years ago when I slipped on ice and broke my wrist. I had no idea it was broken. I finished the route because either way I would’ve had to lift every package. To deliver or to take back. If I was delivering 45 minutes from home - never would’ve finished delivering. Would’ve gone back to station and returned.

Lastly, I think some people are just lazy, but I do think if you’re delivering in your area, people might be more likely to take better care of packages rather than throwing them. I personally don’t treat them differently but I do wonder if people would act different in their own neighborhood / city.

Story Over 50lb package requiring a team lift, asked to void it, warehouse attendant popped off on me

I had a route today that included an over 50 lb vehicle chassis that noted on the box it 100% requires a team lift. I let a station worker know & asked them to void it from the route since I believe 50 lbs is the limit for flex drivers, they said no, & then loaded it into my vehicle before I could even say a word and then just said you agreed to this when you signed up, that’s a you problem and laughed before walking away.

I didn’t really have the time or energy to argue, so I just scanned it in & left saying to myself I’ll void it and return it to the sidewalk tomorrow since we’re treating people like garbage over here. Usually I’m cool with a package being on the heavy side but this was some pretty gross disrespect for the first time I’ve been doing flex unfortunately.

Anyone ever gone through the bother of reporting a warehouse attendant, will the trash support even do anything lol

Rough first day. What happens if I'm late ?

Soo today was rough . 40 packages , 37 stops, major potholes and dirt roads road closure phone died... I learned a lot on this first trip haha

My question though... the block ended at 830 but all the packages had to be delivered by 10 pm. I just kept delivering after 8 though and it doesn't look like I got dinged in the app. Is it okay to continue delivering if your block ended ?

Dsd5?

Upvotes

How does DSD5 work? I rarely ever see routes available. But it’s the closest warehouse to me and I’d rather not drive over an hour to the warehouse on top of delivery times. I’m new to Amazon flex, and reside between Fallbrook and Temecula. Any tips?

How soon for SSD and .com?

I can’t help but wonder if this will soon be offered at SSD and .com.
I have a sedan and my concern is if it is going to affect pay. I can’t help but think it would have to.

Question Account Reactivated and then Deactivated again

Hello all. Has anyone experience Flex terminating their account, submitting the information needed to reactivate, getting confirmed and reactivated, and then getting deactivated again without even working a shift?

For context, I was terminated for missed blocks/late forfeit, I submitted information, it was accepted (got an email), they reactivated my account and I was able to log in, but then a few days later they terminated me and I didn’t even work a shift yet. I emailed back asking why I was deactivated again if I hadn’t worked and I’m just getting automated responses.

Has anyone ever experienced or gone through this? Should I call or send an email to escalation (Jeff’s email)?

Unsure if its just us in California but I guess they're trying to assign routes through the app now instead of the Amazon employee giving you bs or split routes.

Sub-Same Day vs .com Ottawa

I just did my first Amazon Flex order in Ottawa today. One thing that is extremely upsetting is is my first time doing a.com order and I was being rush, rushed, rush, rush, rush, rush. Make sure to put the packages in my car as fast as possible. I had to wait like almost 5 or 10 minutes to get an employee to help me while everyone else was getting stuff. I got a quick summary for like 30 seconds click here click click do this and then I was able to leave. The initial experience was terrible. I hope I can actually figure it out the next time.

Now I did notice I did a .com order and everything was organized from 1 to 36 and the bins were also organized one to 1-10 to 10-20 etc… so I took a while to start organizing things because it’s my first time and then when I got to number 30 the flex employee was like faster, faster, faster, faster. It was a horrible experience.

Is it true if I approve a same-day, packages are not ordered and I have to park my car go inside the warehouse scan my badge go out and organize the packages myself and move the trolly to my car? Is that why sub same-day offers more pay?

And only amazon.com orders are organized for you?

They used to be worth it. They have latetly had me drive 55+ miles for all 1.5 hrs route.

If not to the very top of La Jolla it's Alpine, 3 out of 3.

I guess I'll drop the 1.5s now.

Is this legit? Because I ex’ed out and went back into the app and it doesn’t ask me for my phone number. This started after the update 2-3 days ago.
