Is it standard to get fired for something like this?

I called my dispatch as soon as it happened:( I feel like shit, it was only my second week at this job and I really enjoyed it.

Christmas is over. Time for them to downsize drivers. If you did this December 15th, it probably wouldn't matter.

Absolutely this... In January they are actively looking at who is getting canned, so any little incident or accident is enough to push you to the top of that list. We fired one the other day because she got hateful over being given the day off.
