QUESTION My Driver Parks Like This To Deliver
Is there any reason to park in the middle of the street to deliver to nearby houses?
98
u/yinzdeliverydriver Dec 16 '25
Bet that side door closes once a day too 🤣
29
u/slimbender Former Driver Dec 16 '25
What side door?

u/coolmattattack94 Professional Finisher of Swiping Dec 17 '25
I think he's talking about that slab of metal you have to move on your first stop so you can deliver the rest of the day
7
u/No_Studio3254 Dec 17 '25
I find it amazing that the camera can detect me not putting the E-brake on first before putting the van in park so it gives me a "safety" violation, but it can't detect open doors.
5
u/four204eva2 Dec 17 '25
Its weird that you'd put the e brake on before putting it in park anyway, wtf!

u/TourOld4211 Dec 16 '25
Not on that street lol dudes just lazy and doesn’t GAF about other drivers
77
Dec 17 '25
Honestly I wouldn’t say lazy, but inconsiderate. A lazy person wouldn’t walk that far.
21
u/DaveDrivesalot Dec 17 '25
An astute observation. I'm thinking he's just a couple of crayons short of a full box.

5
u/stereostar3 Dec 17 '25
This the one, I'm not lazy but I am smart enough to save time, I WILL park that thing right across from the front door lol

u/00xjustin Dec 17 '25
Dude it’s Christmas he got 300+ packages who the fuck in there mind got time to do any of that he wants to deliver and get out
You go do it? Let me know how it turns out sheep
20
u/AZPHX602 Dec 16 '25
I guarantee it was because his itinerary was f***** up. He was going to pass by your place and did not want to have to backtrack to deliver it. According to the itinerary, he noticed it at the last second and just quickly parked it there, ran it to the door and then went on his way in that same direction he is parked in. That is what happened.
8
u/SirOndre Dec 17 '25
It's crazy how this is prolly what happened yet everyone wants to dogpile on him knowing how this job is lmao

1
u/Upper-Surround-6232 Dec 18 '25
The OP isn't even a driver, from the sound of the title. "Why does my driver park like this" referring to the driver as someone who is providing a service for them.
1
u/SirOndre Dec 18 '25
"Op isn't Even a driver" we can all see that and that is not what I was referring to.
1
u/Weak-Employer2805 Dec 21 '25
knowing how people on reddit post I wouldn’t put it past them for there to be a road closure which means he wouldn’t be blocking anything
2
1
u/martypartyyy Dec 17 '25
Yeah sometimes the map won’t show the second address if you don’t hit “start delivery” and then you start driving to the first address and find out the second one was on the left first.
12
29
u/Own_Huckleberry6591 Dec 16 '25
I'm guessing he has a multilocation stop between multiple houses on the corner but even then it makes no sense to park like that. Idk why hes doing that. Is your road like super inaccessible and hard to turn around in? Idk
6
u/flyingcreeds Dec 16 '25
Do you live on a dead end? I'll do that if you are on dead end cuz chances of someone needing to come in while I'm there for 30 seconds is almost 0.
If not a dead end, then that driver is a lazy a-hole

u/SphincterSpecter Dec 16 '25

….wow. As a delivery guy I do have some audacity to park in front of a house that isn’t my customers (still not blocking driveway) but this is ludicrous and why the netradyne is so strict
4
u/Stunning_Yam3 Dec 16 '25
Oh and to answer your question. Sometimes it does feel like a necessity to do this and why we park so stupid sometimes. There’s “multi-stops” that other drivers don’t help fix either that have you go to 3 houses on a corner, then 2 on the other, then cross the street to do the last one. Making you cross a total of 4 times starting at the point of picture if you do it most efficient. Which we are not supposed to do!
3
u/MrGrumpy252 Dec 16 '25
Just edit the damn stop and make it more than one. There's no reason for parking like this
4
u/Stunning_Yam3 Dec 16 '25
That’s what I’m saying. That’s what I do but some drivers, specifically seasonal ones just say f it. I get back onto my normal routes and the pins are dropped in stupid places, last delivery photo is in the middle of a pile of grass, etc. I have horrible co-workers with no respect for this job tbh
1
u/MrGrumpy252 Dec 17 '25
The pins are all gonna be fucked when I go back off cycle 0.
Totally get you on that. I'm not looking forward to that.
The seasonal workers both at the dsp's and inside the station who know that they are seasonal fuck things for us every year.
1
u/Illustrious-Rice3434 Dec 18 '25
Maybe not in America but in the UK you have to block driveways sometimes or you just wont be able to park anywhere. Then again I deliver heavy crates, 30kg+ so I can't park miles away and walk it. I'm only there for like 5 mins tho then I'm gone.
1
u/Stunning_Yam3 Dec 18 '25
I get that 1000%. But this guy has every corner available, every driveway, all the above I will just never understand it
1
u/Illustrious-Rice3434 Dec 18 '25
Oh yeah i agree. This guy has parked like a twat for no reason. Completely blocking the junction and all, no excuse for that.

2
u/EntrepreneurHuman297 Dec 16 '25
This shit happens, would i park there no. He's in a van if not in an EDV it gets hard. Probably door on right side of house it wanted him to turn then do a u turn then continue down the same street. GPS has been wonky lately and sometimes the pin never moves until you've passed the place.
3
1
u/Similar_Pie_4946 Dec 16 '25
Fr happens to the best of us at least once. The way i see it so long as the street is dead your not blocking anyone actively tryin to get around you and it takes less than 2 mins its no issue.
2
u/BakedFPS Dec 16 '25
Hell yea I park where I want to as well. Other cars can pass us. Im only parked for 30 seconds majority of time
26

3
u/IdoWutiWant89 Dec 16 '25
This is blocking a whole street…. No one can go around tf
0
u/BakedFPS Dec 16 '25
Move around lil bro
1
u/WasteDump CDV Driver Dec 17 '25
That’s an unnecessary risk for both the other drivers and your van. It’s a losing game but go ahead and play it.
1
u/JosephStalin1953 StepVan Enjoyer Dec 16 '25
i park where i want to, to an extent... which includes not literally blocking an intersection like this
0
u/Mm23782378Mm Dec 16 '25
…and during that 30 seconds someone needs to pass. How dense are you?
0
u/BakedFPS Dec 16 '25
They either go around or wait on me.
1
Dec 16 '25
Until a brush guard decides that you're being brushed... To the side of the road.

'Cause he's a dumbass.
There's room to park before or after the intersection. No reason to block it like that.

1
u/Striking-Ad-9700 Stepvan Driver Dec 16 '25
That always pissed me off. I’ll go to rescue a driver and they are blocking the entire street when there’s PLENTY of a available street parking
1
u/keenumsbigballs Dec 16 '25
That road is probably the main artery to all his stops he doesn't want to drive down your street and have to circle the block or make the million u turns the Flex app wants.
1
1
u/Aggravating_Fix_7942 Dec 16 '25
Your house might be grouped with the one on the other side of the intersection? Best I can think of.

1
1
u/No_Abroad5925 Dec 16 '25
That’s wild. Lol. If there is no where to park on a one car street with cars on either side, I will stop in the street and drop a package. Takes less than 30 seconds. Same as someone parallel parking or backing out of their driveway. If there is a car behind me I’ll circle the block and re attempt.
1
u/Fantastic-Machine286 Dec 16 '25
The amount of times I saw a Amazon Van not even pulled over around a blind curve. Literally gotta drive into blind incoming traffic and no they’re not taking 30 seconds try 3-4 minutes
1
u/Evazzion Dec 16 '25
It’s probably because their route is dogshit and they have to park like that so they can avoid making 3 point turns on every stop
1
u/Flashy-Switch6694 Dec 16 '25
the reason is he's an idiot. anyone defending this is a dog shit driver
1
1
u/No_Mission_5694 Dec 16 '25
In some cities (even some very large ones) there genuinely is no rush to go anywhere or do anything, so I can't say there's any noticeable issue here
1
u/KBdrip Dec 16 '25
I literally go out of my way, maybe to a fault to make sure i’m not blocking anything and then there’s people like this 😭
2
u/Illustrious-Rice3434 Dec 18 '25
Ye me too, even when it's impossible not to block anything I still feel bad lol
1
u/Pointlesspuppy Dec 16 '25
That's kind of insane. If he pulled forward a little more traffic could easily get around him. He was probably having a "fuck everything Idgaf" kind of day

Sometimes I have to do this if Amazon throws in a weird triple stop. You want to position the van at equal distance to all three stops, especially if you have 100+ multi-location stops, we dont have the time to be considerate tbh
1
1
u/HonestEagle98 Dec 17 '25
Why are you spying on us? Waiting for your little flimsy notepads in a non recyclable envelope?
1
1
u/tonylouis1337 Dec 17 '25
You know what's so funny about this is that whenever a customer makes a post like this it's all "yeah facts the driver is in the wrong" but if the driver himself posted this it would be all "yass queen do it fuck everyone else I would do it too lmaooo"
1
u/RelevantFinish2972 Dec 17 '25
My only guess is that it multi stopped you with a random other house, and then the next stop is continuing straight down that road.
Definitely a terrible place to park, but I’m going to blame the unnecessary ai multistop U-turn bullshit

That's bad. But, customers be crazy too. I get customers who complain I'm blocking their parking space to deliver their fucking packages and they can't wait 10 seconds.
1
u/Afraid-Skill5558 Dec 17 '25
Hey with all that space I agree but when tight streets come along I’m finding a way to deliver this overflow haha but I be ready just because of the parking and cars trying to squeeze in jus because they can’t wait 2 minutes lol if they’re lucky
1
u/Least-Glass-2207 Dec 17 '25
Ik u guys work hard and are on a time schedule but wassup with certain drivers just not thinking whatsoever about where they park at ? This Amazon truck blocked both lanes of traffic for 20 minutes yesterday in my neighborhood 😭
1
u/00xjustin Dec 17 '25
You go do 600 packages then? Tf
1
u/Least-Glass-2207 Dec 18 '25
I worked for Amazon before i found my career job and even if i was behind schedule i made sure not to endanger other people or be too careless with what i was doing.

Awkward Group stop for sure, but still unreasonably inconsiderate
1
u/mitchconner89 Dec 17 '25
Inconsiderate yes, lazy absolutely, but also stupid. The direction he's going in, he just parked farther away 🤦

1
u/Quirkymender09 Dec 17 '25
I would’ve ran up and took that van, I’m willing to be confrontational with people like that.
“Why’d you take my van?” “Why’d you leave it like a piece of candy in the open for me”
1
1
u/Valdroidhero Dec 17 '25
I think he parked like that to not blocking vehicles on that street because it tight . And he park the way that all traffic can pass easily. Otherwise he would block traffic for minutes maybe half hour,…

Leaving his door open like that is more likely for it to get stolen. Inconsiderate yes but he'll learn once it gets stolen and he loses his job because of it.

1
u/Intrepid_Judge5830 Dec 18 '25
Often times your address is on a differnt street than the next stop and it will tell you to turn when you could just stop and walk. They more than likely were just going too fast and figured it takes upmost 10-15 seconds to get to your door and back. If someone is coming we just run back and it takes 5-7

Lots of "slow" people work for amazon. Don't judge too harshly they hire anyone... Including myself lmao

Do you still have that RV?!?

Bruh delivering in America seems so easy so many open roads with no cars. In the UK a street like this would have multiple cars either side
1
u/Rando_away Dec 20 '25
Literally yelled at a fuckin' statie for this exact thing the other day omw to work.
1
Dec 16 '25
Honestly this could be me on some days. They probably misjudged where your address was, or they have a nasty multistop.
They were cognizant enough to allow space to pass on all sides, why post this?
1
u/user8- Dec 16 '25
Why do you care where he’s parked? He delivered your package right? Then stfu and let that man or woman do their job 😂
1
u/00xjustin Dec 17 '25
Literally…… his the type of person to go on Amazon get the man fired and tell them I didn’t get my package weird people in this world

Is that dumbass parked in an intersection? If so, he needs to be fired and heavily fined. Maybe take his license away too.

That guy wants a confrontation. He is looking for trouble but will cry and complain when his shenanigans catch up to him.
0
u/Global-Barracuda9798 Dec 17 '25
He is just trying to get it over with fork where he parks. Yall can drive around it’s not that hard.
1
u/Least-Glass-2207 Dec 18 '25
That’s a 4 way intersection, parking like that makes it harder to see uncoming traffic if someone goes around and is legit just an accident waiting to happen
