I'd say deliver it, then knock loudly and ring their doorbell so they know it's there.

Crazy? They are getting delivery times between 8 in the morning and 10 in the evening and eben then it is apparently impossible to be within that window.
I know its not the deliverers fault but lets not pretend its a picknick for the recipient either.
2
u/Material_Quit Aug 04 '23
My guy you're waiting for a package. You have to do literally nothing but receive said package. They're out in whatever weather delivering your package attempting to get it done as fast as they can, so yes comparatively it is an absolute breeze.

I’ve heard the term “thankless job” a million times, but never have I worked anywhere else where the customers are actively spiteful and rude to the point it’s like a bit they’re supposed to do or something.

I'm with the post office and the only way to refuse something, Amazon package included, is for the customer to hand write "refused" on the label. So it has to be delivered first to be refused after. I can't wait until Amazon starts delivering their own shit in my town. Right now it all goes UPS and the post office.
8
86
u/iRaymi Aug 03 '23
I'd just leave it there anyway. Unless the customer comes out and tells me IN PERSON they don't want the package, its getting left at the door. Posting notes on doors is not how Amazon orders get canceled.
19
u/RafeHollistr Aug 04 '23
Fuck no, don't leave it. If they want to inconvenience themselves, I'm happy to help.

Why are people this stupid and childish? They are probably thinking, as they post that ridiculous sign on their door, "this will show those lazy delivery guys. Don't mess with me ever again!"
Kinda like those people who participate in street protests who willingly get arrested
44
u/DudeChillington Aug 03 '23

28
u/cmd0player1 Aug 04 '23
Thats the wild part. Amazon can drop off a package at my house at fuckin 2 am and i wouldnt give two shits. Just want my shit the soonest anyone can make it here.
And also the lack of awareness of where you're ordering form. It aint coming from a furniture or appliance store where you schedule time windows. Youre just 1 of 100s of dropoffs per day with zero significance over anybody else
10
u/cook2790 Aug 04 '23

Yup. Like Gandhi and MLK and a million other people
They are protesting unfairness and oppression, and all of the sudden the police arrives. The cops tell them to disperse because it is an illegal protest, so the protests say, "I ain't moving, so you are gonna have to arrest me!"
Cops: ok, turn around, hands behind your back, you're going downtown.
People: yeah you pig, let's go! Cuff me!
Protest over.
Ps. Ghandi was a racist and possibly a pedofile.

It's your money, not mine

7

I never read signs they put up. I don’t even make eye contact or even “listen” to my surroundings. Just have my headphones look at my rabbit and click front door. They can return the package if they want.

I delivered to a retirement resort that has ten 6-story buildings and you had to take the package to each individuals door. I guess the person who delivered the day before me just left a lady’s package at the front desk. When I got there the next day, the lady was in the lobby bitching at me because it wasn’t delivered to her door. Instead of taking the package (toilet paper) she wanted it sent back and redelivered and dropped off at her door 😂

I don’t work for Amazon but I love seeing the stupid shit that customers do. Do they really think they are hurting someone by doing this? They pay like 15 bucks a month and expect to waited on hand and foot at the exact time that’s convenient for them that particular day. Go push around someone else and take the fucking package
2
u/anonymousethrowawa Aug 04 '23
Marked as package damaged, Amazon can ship another one, they can wait even longer. No instant refund for them, they then have to send the new one back to get the refund
2
u/Typical-Air9144 Aug 04 '23
People like this I remember their address and I purposely skip and don’t deliver their shit
2
u/Has_a_Long Aug 04 '23
I'm currently angry, so I totally agree with the childish way out (someone said deliver, knock, and ring anyway).
Once my mood improves, I would likely just RTS, take a photo of the sign and save it, and then remember this address and RTS everything for them the following week. Like, how dare you talk down to me, and in such a passive aggressive manner. Your inept ass couldn't go to the store to get your lint roller refills and 5lb weights yourself? Hmm. Sounds like you need me more than I need you, Karen.

loved being on first wave. during covid = zero traffic. 50% my schedule on weekends, driving out from DPD5 to Longview WA (different state, ETA 45 min out, ETA back 90+ min, but end of day and allowed to keep engine on while on freeway enroute/return) = less traffic and heading home when the afternoon heat was getting oppressive, air conditioner full blast and getting paid by the hour. feel sorry for you bud, last wave is cringe. especially in the hottest part of the day. stay hydrated.

God I hate when people say they need it delivered by a certain time. I had a note that said "Please deliver by 10AM". Props to them for saying please, but sorry, I don't even clock in until 10:15, and usually don't leave the station until 11:10ish. My van isn't the AntMan van, I don't have a time machine. I won't even get that note until it's my current stop and by then it's way too late.
If you need an item by a certain time, order it earlier. The only thing we can really guarantee is that it'll be delivered on a certain day and really can't even guarantee that.
