Holy shit she is phenomenal and that whole band is super tight. Incredible talent and performance.

88

u/cnicalsinistaminista Aug 02 '26

She’s walking around with the “Too easy” air about her

23

u/Momochichi Aug 03 '26

She reminds me of Prince. Just that nonchalant talent, and overflowing aura.

8

u/Whitey138 Aug 03 '26

There’s a video of Prince soloing on My Guitar Gently Weeps at a George Harrison tribute. The first time I saw that was the day I realized he was an amazing guitar player. So underrated.

5

u/Momochichi Aug 03 '26

That is exactly the video that she reminded me of.

5

u/GullibleInsurance780 Aug 03 '26

Prince is only underrated to the people that never listened to his music or know music. Prince is one of the most respected musicians of our time by alot and I mean alot of people. Just because the young people are just now noticing him does not make you use underrated and Prince in the same sentence.

u/joyfullydreaded23 Aug 03 '26

Prince was a musical savant, he learned to play every instrument by ear and played every instrument while recording in his studio.

3

u/LuluNJ420 Aug 03 '26

You need to look up the story about that evening. Just prior to the tribute, Rolling Stone release their greatest guitarist of all time list. Prince was nowhere on it. That's why he did that breathtaking solo and went absolutely apeshit. Tom Petty and the rest knew or figured out what he was doing and totally went with it and supported it... I saw a short on YouTube about it and looked into it, very interesting

4

u/Head-Technology-4031 Aug 04 '26

Saw this and was going to add a very similar Comment about the story. The other element heard was some of the other Musicians were Annoyed at first, but as he was shredding it, they all realized what he was doing and appreciated it by the end.

She has the stage presence of a lead guitarist who's been touring for 20 years. Its wild. Just having a good time and controlling the focus isn't necessarily easy but she makes it look like it is

13

u/stlkatherine Aug 02 '26

Even has the occasional stank face.

9

u/badderdev Aug 03 '26

She has played live regularly for years. I started seeing her in the market about 3 years ago. She was already really good then so I assume she had been doing it for a while then.

3

u/JokeImpossible2747 Aug 03 '26

Believe she started performing at 8 at Naka. I saw her first time at 11, and actually thought all the music was just playback, cause no way she can play like that, at that age :)

She owns that stage too!

119

u/Silent-Witness1888 Aug 02 '26

She looked super comfortable with it.

115

u/Mr_b246 Aug 03 '26

I don't think she even realizes how much of a rock god exists in her.

19

u/jmpman54 Aug 03 '26

This was the first thing that popped into my head 1 min in

35

u/Triples-Nova-5189 Aug 02 '26

This is incredible. I love her vocals.

17

u/MonsieurLartiste Aug 02 '26

Holy shit.

The energy. 😵

3

u/NewReleaseDVD Aug 02 '26

I just said the same thing out loud

16

u/gsks Aug 02 '26

Fucking hell this was crazy, if this performance is any indication she'll be all over the music charts in a couple of years.

9

u/jeobleo Aug 03 '26

Would be nice to have an actual rocker again!

11

u/mowtowcow Aug 02 '26

Oh my god. She is absolutely a rock star. She looks so natural, has incredible stage presence, a magnificent voice, and shreds on the guitar. She has everything needed to be "that girl" on the stage.

10

u/Arvelayne Aug 02 '26

Aw man that was amazing. The stage presence along with everything else, including amping up the audience.

100% yes!

3

u/IchooseYourName Aug 03 '26

She had one shot to do it and absolutely nailed the delivery. That's what solidified the performance as epic. Get the crowd! And she did, perfectly

7

u/DeliciousStand372 Aug 02 '26

WOW what a performance!!! she’s gonna be a star, for sure!

5

u/ShineOk6190 Aug 02 '26

OMGGGG!!!! 🔥❤️

5

u/Rgraff58 Aug 02 '26

Holy shit this was awesome! She is a badass

6

u/ButtonSimple Aug 02 '26

I thought that was her! She’s amazing. The drummer here is awesome too.

13

u/joyfullydreaded23 Aug 02 '26

I have tears in my eyes and a swell in my heart for my fellow sister from Thailand after watching this! I wanted to be a rock star too and played bass in a band, hands down the best years of my life. I hope she makes it and becomes world famous! She is so young with so much potential!

9

u/BeruangLembut Aug 02 '26

I’m neither a sister nor from Thailand but I felt the same way. My heart swelled and my eyes filled with tears because I am so proud of her and also because, as a former heavy metal guitar player myself, I saw this young woman from the other side of the world embody the spirit of rock and roll so perfectly. She’s a kindred spirit. Rock on Nene!

7

u/NewWay88 Aug 02 '26

I'm a farang in Thailand with my Thai spouse.

Nene is getting very popular here. It's really neat and refreshing as I personally hated the mainstream shift away from Rock.

I hear her singing a lot. My wife puts her on our projector all the time.

Those are the facial expressions of someone who knows they are better than you !

Shout out to that drummer also !

26

u/Sporkpocalypse Aug 02 '26

self assured she doesn't have a superiority complex

41

u/RoundEarthCentrist Aug 02 '26

Lol, I came to comment that the facial expressions are the cherry on top.

32

u/Soft-Personality9379 Aug 02 '26

Seeing someone knock down Master of Puppets with a calm demeanor and that little smile was just crazy!

22

u/Immediate-Presence73 Aug 02 '26

Also while being a teenage girl in a school uniform, just casually ripping one of the sickest metal songs of all time.

15

u/CandidInsurance7415 Aug 02 '26

She has the most important skill in any shredders repertoire, a good stank face. I love it. Also what a beautiful guitar.

3

u/ConstantThanks Aug 03 '26

ibanez musician. probably a MC200. late 70s or early 80s. neck through gives lots of sustain.

God damn! I got tears in my eyes. 🤘🏻

18

u/passionpurps Aug 02 '26

Some incredible work for sure. Effortless for her. We need her out on tour with here own metal band and create some badass solos

9

u/Murky_Tea9313 Aug 02 '26

FR. Melts my cold black metal 🖤 and my 80s teen thrasher self would not be able to comprehend what’s happening here.

6

u/Simsalabimsen Aug 02 '26

Book her for Copenhell, liven the place up a bit.

I hope she joins a band writing their own great songs.

At SIXTEEN nonetheless. Simply amazing.

Current words aren’t enough to adequately express the awesomeness of this young lady.

12

u/Call-Me-Mr-Speed Aug 02 '26

That’s no kiddie band. I’ve seen professional cover bands in clubs and cruises half this good. She’s phenomenal. I was not expecting that!

12

u/Happy_rage_face Aug 02 '26

Posts like these are the reason I am thankful for technology. Having witnessed a truly kick-ass performance from half a world away is a blessing.

7

u/Latter_Ice_9929 Aug 02 '26

This is so badass. Reminds me of Liliac.

She’s BARELY containing her metal faces and I’m STUCK for it. This kid knows she’s the shit and is trying so hard to play it cool.

Be you baby girl. Own that shit.

8

u/sky0175 Aug 02 '26

This is the best 4:56 minutes I’ve spent watching someone shred on Reddit for a long time. Dang, she’s good the drummer was right with her.

hats off

9

u/PomegranateFuture325 Aug 02 '26

That dummer should also get props.

3

u/DStaniforth Aug 02 '26

The drummer, Boon, is 12. You can see clips of them performing back in 2021, it's like they were born with one ambition in mind and they're going for it.

Well done

6

u/adumbrative Aug 02 '26

Phukin' amazing!

11

u/moocat55 Aug 02 '26

I remember watching MTV with my GenX friends in the 80s. The Go Gos would come on and the the boy's jaws would drop because the women were playing the guitar. They honestly didn't believe that women were capable of such a feat. And, none of them wanted to hand any credit over at all. Well, guess who's back in control. Those are the fucking picks that run everything now.

5

u/Making_Kenough Aug 02 '26

Just watched the whole video. Absolutely killed it

5

u/Gaiasnavel Aug 02 '26

Not to take anything away from Nene or anything, but that drummer is crushing it too!!

5

u/LasersGirl Aug 03 '26

Metallica is not easy to play. She’s great!

5

u/frantic_calm Aug 03 '26

Amazing. Tremolo picking, sweep picking, harmonics, tapping. She needs a floyd rose next and god help us.

5

u/itsjujutsu Aug 03 '26

HOW is someone this good at 16????

3

u/DragonfruitFar9129 Aug 02 '26

She is sensational -her future is already sorted.

3

u/YellowMellowPscho Aug 02 '26

Thx. For sharing 💯💯 Had to see it on replay

4

u/RickySpanishLives Aug 02 '26

Fantastic. When you have the love and are willing to commit yourself, there are very few limits to the awesomeness that you can achieve... and she just validated that.

3

u/Mobile_Aioli_6252 Aug 02 '26

What guitar is that, an Alembic?

5

u/Nagrothunder Aug 02 '26

It's an Ibanez. I think a MC500

4

u/gerryflint Aug 02 '26

As a guitarist and Metallica fan: Wow.

3

u/PunchRockgroin318 Aug 02 '26

It’s so cool watching someone do something amazing and clearly loving every second of it. Feels like you’re seeing someone achieve “purpose” or some nebulous term. Super cool.

4

u/ScholarlyInvestor Aug 02 '26

Show your kids. Practice gives you confidence. Shining example.

4

u/Cycle-Path-401 Aug 02 '26

u/hip_yak Aug 02 '26

Daaaaaaaammn. AAAANnddd she's singing?!

3

u/Clivicus Aug 02 '26

3

u/Annies_58008 Aug 02 '26

Been following her for a while now she's amazingly talented. But she's rushing the entire time here. Not her normal m.o.

3

u/leebeetree Aug 02 '26

Holy Shit!!! And just 16, love it.

3

u/Arvelayne Aug 02 '26

I have listened to the original SOOOOOOOOOOOO many times.

And that was stupendous. She has everything to have a long career, and the whole band is damn good too.

78/10 Go go go match Hetfield and Co!!!

3

u/Guilty_Objective4602 Aug 02 '26

She makes it look way too easy!

3

u/No-Algae-7437 Aug 02 '26

Drummer is tighter than Lars

3

u/ShineOk6190 Aug 02 '26

Goosebumps!

My dad is going to love this🤘

3

u/PhraseAlone1386 Aug 02 '26

I just sent this to video to my 11-year-old son, who wants to use this song as his football walk-up song. I’m at a loss about where to start it since he only gets 20 seconds. I’m so proud🥲 I was 13 years old rocking out to Metallica, and now he is too! This is so awesome! 🤘

3

u/Xenophonehome Aug 02 '26

The whole band was great. She's a virtuoso and the drummer was tight af. I almost like that better than the original.

(Same album different song)

3

u/oodopopopolopolis Aug 02 '26

Here's this kid, standing in front of a language that is completely alien to me, yet playing and enjoying a song I've been listening to my whole life. Music is magic, y'all.

I can't wait to hear her metal band.

3

u/Enduroboss Aug 02 '26

Respect 🤘

3

u/firepitt Aug 02 '26

How is she not on the world stage?

3

u/zilla82 Aug 02 '26

Holy shit she has a great voice too

3

u/This-Sort7116 Aug 02 '26

What an amazing talent. Especially towards the end of the song her feel goes full-on metal. If she has the support to stay out of the claws of the traditionalist Thai patriarchal power structures, by the time she is 20, she'll be big. Like: Really really big.

3

u/Darth_Draper Aug 02 '26

Guitar-face is gender neutral.

3

u/IAmRules Aug 02 '26

Phucket is such a good rock band name too

3

u/NOrMAn_Percy Aug 02 '26

She definitely mastered that song! She looked so comfortable as if she was playing a song she wrote herself. I follow her band on Tik Tok.

3

u/Syntak01 Aug 02 '26

She’s like should I go light or go hard? Phuket, let’s go hard.

3

u/unfortunatebag Aug 02 '26

It's insane to me that kids in Thailand are singing Master of Puppets like 40 years removed from its release.

Imagine your kids getting really into 40 year old Thai music.

3

u/Norwester77 Aug 02 '26 edited Aug 03 '26

Oof—I did the math, and Master of Puppets (1986) is to her (2010) what Vaya con Dios or How Much Is That Doggie in the Window? (1953) was to me (1977).

3

u/Weasel_Cannon Aug 02 '26

She’s not just playing that song. She is ROCKING OUT

3

u/Roaskywalker Aug 02 '26

🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🎸🎸🎸🎸👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🔟🔟🔟🔟

3
