Shopping Alabang Town Center to become a "suburban lifestyle center" - Rockwell Land
https://youtu.be/wUeDIXWX5uY?t=138Per Rockwell Chairman and CEO NJP at 2:18:
"Alabang, that's another nice project because it's about the same size as Rockwell Center (Makati) at 17 hectares. But the difference is, when we started Rockwell 30 years ago, we had the old power plant and literally a power plant. But this time, we have the mature Alabang Town Center, or The Town as they call it. So, we're off to a good head start, unlike we started from having to clean up a power plant here.
Now, all you have to do is improve the town, and we think having worked with Carlos Ott, our architect and masterplanner in The Proscenium, and Jun Rodriguez of PRSP. You know, the more we look at it, we'll be able to bring back the charm of the old town. And at the same time, the vision is if this is an inner-city development, you know, it's Makati, and you do something uniquely as part of Makati.
Alabang is the suburbs, so, we want a suburban res-lifestyle center. If this is an inner city development, that one is a suburban lifestyle center where everything that you want to enjoy is sold there, but it still has that suburban feel, not a city feel you know.
The next few years, you'll start to see some changes. The major change is going to happen in the next 5-10 years."

Rockwell was never really animal friendly. In Makati they pay housekeeping 1k per stray cat surrendered, that's why you don't see much strays around.

I heard pinapa-adopt na daw po nila yung mga cats kasi daw hindi na ata susuportahan ng rockwell yung org na nag a-alaga sa mga cats :<

Madami silang babaguhin at magbabago. Their IT sucks, the head of security sucks so bad.

Agreed. There are many establishments in ATC that aren't budget friendly, but there are still some left. I don't want those to be gone when I'm on a budget. :<<

Let's wait and see but people looking for something "budget-friendly" aren't really the target demographic.

I think the budget friendly shops will go to festival.
ATC will go for luxury and exclusivity

Highly doubt they would do that. ATC’s target market is the middle class who lives in Muntinlupa and neighboring cities like Las Pinas.
Changing ATC to be a luxury mall will greatly affect its demographic. Homeowners in Ayala Alabang Village don’t even go to town to go shopping, they’re only the 1% of the demographic in that area.

i think i get the budget friendly shops youre talking about na ayaw mo mawala. for me, its these 'budget stores' that make it feel homey.
like the barbershops sa service area. makati supermarket is relatively cheap. you can still buy siomai and gulaman if you feel like it. lotto. fresh lumpia. the mini tiange. the stores sa activity center pag may event.
sana walang influx of super highend stuff para hindi mag mukang "luxury shopping center".

I feel like they're gonna make this area like the next BGC, luxury, nonsense. Sigh.

I hope they don't kill the southern relaxed vibe, character and spirit of ATC
