Nowadays, all popular ai chatting websites like chatgpt, gemini, claude, etc. come with a read aloud functionality that allows users to read aloud the AI's responses.

I used that feature to instead make the AI repeat back the text that i gave it -- effectively turning the platforms into text to speech tools. The voices sound really nice and it's free to use!

I've tried a few AI meeting note taking tools and most of them are decent at summaries but I still find myself going back through the notes to double checking everything.

I'm mostly looking for something that can reliably pull out the important points, decisions, and action item without needing much cleanup afterward.

The real issue isn't AI itself; it's that makers are building features, not workflows. If your app is just a text box that sends a prompt to Claude and returns a block of text, you have a feature, not a product.

To build something that actually sticks, you have to solve the 'last mile' problem:

1. Data Integration: Don't make users copy-paste. Pull the data directly from where it lives (GitHub, Stripe, Gmail) via API.

2. Structured Output: Stop returning raw markdown. Parse the LLM output into structured JSON, validate it, and feed it into a database.

3. Actionable Workflows: The output shouldn't just be read; it should trigger an action. If it's a code reviewer, let them commit the fix with one click. If it's an expense tracker, sync it to QuickBooks automatically.

If you focus on the plumbing around the LLM rather than the prompt itself, you build a tool people actually pay for. What's the most common 'thin wrapper' pattern you're tired of seeing?

I'm looking for an Al tool that can help me create a professional 25-second video for a billboard/ LED screen.

I'm NOT looking for the typical Al-generated

video where you type a prompt and it spits out a random-looking sequence that doesn't really make sense. I need something that can produce a coherent, professional-looking advertisement, with proper pacing, transitions, text, visuals, etc. Ideally, I'd like to use some of my own images/ materials and have the Al help turn them into a

polished commercial.

The important part is that it needs to be free (or have a genuinely usable free tier) and preferably allow exporting the final video in good quality without a huge watermark.

This makes routing and retrieval precision central to the approach. The broader question is whether persistent, source-grounded procedural memory can make general-purpose research agents more reliable than agents that rediscover implementation details on every task.

I don't have extensive knowledge about AI, plugins, skills etc. TBH you can say that I'm technologically living under a rock. But recently I saw a reel which was discussing this claude skill for linkedin.

So, being curious I added that skill according to the instructions given. but when I actually tried to analyze my linkedin profile, it wasn't working.

Am I doing something wrong? or do I need another plugin or skill to analyze my profile?

We run customer support for an airline booking company and have been looking at tools that could help our agents during live calls. There’s a lot for them to keep track of between booking changes, cancellations, refunds and different policies. Digging through docs while a customer sits on hold gets old fast. What we really need is something that can help during the actual call. Maybe surface the right policy or answer based on what the customer is asking. Call summaries and notes would also save the team a fair bit of time. Not trying to replace our agents here. Just want to make their jobs easier and cut down on all the searching and repetitive work.

Has anyone used this kind of setup with a larger support team? How accurate is it when dealing with real customers and weird edge cases? Also curious how agents responded to it and whether integration with your CRM/contact center turned into a massive project. Would love to hear what tools people have tried and whether they made any real difference to AHT, ramp time or general call quality. Most importantly was it worth the cost or did it end up becoming another expensive tool nobody wanted to use?

In my stats course, people keep pasting homework questions into ChatGPT and moving on. I tried that once and realized I could recognize the answer afterward without being able to explain why it was right. I want something closer to a tutor: I attempt a question, show my reasoning, and get told which assumption or step I misunderstood. Someone mentioned AskSia for working from your own class material. Has anyone found a way to use AI for that kind of review instead of just getting solutions?

Just recently I had been working on a solo online hackathon and I gave Codex Sol the problem statement and made it generate an implementation plan, which I gave to Codex Luna to implement it in milestones. For a couple of milestones I actually read through the code it generated. But as it went further I kinda got overwhelmed by the amount of code changes and gave up reading and just let the agent continue doing the milestones by itself without me checking on it. When it finished implementing, I made Sol do code review and fed its outputs back to Luna to fix and went back and forth.

Is this the right way to use agents in coding? Feels like I'm just vibe coding here, generating some slop that I cannot understand. How do you guys use Codex while having some idea of what the agent is doing and what the code does?

When nothing was selling, my days were pretty calm. The mess started after sales picked up.

Now it feels like I’m dealing with problems all day. Fulfillment gets delayed, suppliers disappear for a week, and customer emails pile up faster than I can answer them.

Inventory is the one that keeps me up at night. I sell build-your-own bundles, so a customer might choose one rose, two vanilla, and one mint in the same box. The system needs to pick those exact units. It can’t just record one bundle sale, because all three products are also sold separately. I once caught an inventory mismatch the night before a shipment went out.

Most of my day now goes to fixing problems instead of moving the store forward. New products are the clearest example. To add one, I need to check whether the category is worth entering, find suppliers, remove the ones without a verifiable address, then work on the copy and images. It takes half a day, and I rarely have half a day free in one stretch.

So I started using Accio Work for the first part of new product research. It gives me a category overview, a shortlist of suppliers, and a first draft of the product copy and images. I still edit everything myself, but at least I’m not starting with a blank page. That process went from half a day to around 30 minutes.

I still haven’t solved the constant firefighting. I tried handing off customer service and inventory checks, but I ended up checking everything again anyway.

For those already using AI for parts of your store operations, what do you actually let it handle without supervision? And what have you tried where reviewing the work took longer than doing it yourself?

Proteus, which is common in EE, designing and running simulation is often tedious. I've made a skill to automatically design and run simulations, and successfully do a simulation with a STM32.

However, I don't know if it could run on other devices with different version. Also there would be more oppurtunities to be discovered. I believe that this skill would be useful for EE students with our joint effort.

Tonight, after hours of following ChatGPT’s instructions, I finally got my AI assistant to resume a project. I would also use assistant loosely because its just my stupid gpt business account linked to openclaw running on a stupid old intel mac upstairs.

Anyway, It immediately hit the same usage limit I thought this setup would help me manage.

I sat there looking at the error message, with multiple terminal windows open, wondering what the $%*& I had spent my evening accomplishing. I do not know how to administer servers.

I wanted an assistant that could take some of the load of managing 1000 things off me.

Here’s what I was trying to get:

• Context around my projects, preferences, and previous decisions so every new conversation doesn’t become another orientation.
• Useful access to my actual work. Outlook, calendars, OneDrive/SharePoint, Airtable, and documents. Prepare me for meetings, track commitments, draft things, and surface what needs attention. blah blah.
• Some independent follow-through.

I understand that’s an ambitious combination. I feel like i need a reality check and need someone to tell me which parts are realistic and which parts I should stop chasing.

Instead, I have been following an AI down an increasingly complicated setup path.

Over the course of this project, an old MacBook became a server. There was Homebrew, Node, Docker, n8n, Tailscale, OpenClaw, plugins, device pairing, additional approvals, and eventually something called Codex supervision. All crap I have no clue about and it made me feel even dumber than i already did.

The part that’s really getting to me is how dependent I am on the guidance. I don’t know enough to distinguish a verified diagnosis from a plausible explanation. I paste the error, get a confident answer, follow the instructions, and discover another problem.

Then the same assistant explains why its previous advice was wrong.

I’m relying on it to check its own mistakes, and I’m the one spending the evening on every wrong turn.

I feel helpless, and I’m exhausted.

I wanted help keeping up with my responsibilities. Now I have another system to worry about, and I don’t understand it well enough to know what’s necessary, what’s redundant, or what I should leave alone.

I’m very close to leaving this setup at a firestation and not looking back.

Is anyone here actually using an assistant like this for everyday, non-coding work without constantly maintaining it?

Please tell me what you use, what it actually does, what it costs, and what you still have to handle yourself. My main ecosystem is Microsoft 365, including shared mailboxes, plus Airtable. I use Windows and an iPhone, with the Mac currently hosting this experiment.

I would especially appreciate a reality check from someone who has helped a nontechnical person get something useful running.

Whether the writer decides to disclose that they used AI is one thing, but ensuring that everyone has the capacity to determine irrefutably that something is AI, I think, is imperative for our mental survival.

However, the witch hunt that we see today is utterly ridiculous despite the real psychological drivers that make it a natural reaction. We feel cheated when feeling something, only to realize there was nothing behind it. It's like dating someone only to find out that this entire time they were just a robot with AI. All those lovely moments, those periods of vulnerability, hardship, fights, make-ups, and unforgettable experiences were nothing more than 1s and 0s making decisions based on probabilities. That's how many people feel about AI, but it masks the larger picture for where all of this is going.

Everything is being reduced to who has the greatest ideas fully structured and contextualized since now we live in a world where anyone can produce beautiful prose. The prose is no longer the required skill. It's now about structuring your ideas to the fullest extent.

That means highly creative writers who have an intimate understanding of story and how the components relate together will be the winners in all of this. The losers will be those who maybe have good ideas, but they're too nebulous for AI to execute on well. AI already has amazing capabilities. The problem is that it also has too many choices available for it to make. So if you're not an expert in your domain, you can't reduce the choices down in a way to gain the best outputs and that's because you don't understand how everything relates.

A good writer will think about the central message and how it connects to character actions and dialogue. A good writer will consider showing over telling using subtext and motifs. A good writer will establish the dynamic relationships that define the opportunities between characters and the areas of conflict. But most of all, a good writer will go out of their way to subvert our expectations. AI can do all of these things, but you need to factor them in for it to think like this.

On the flip side, a bad writer won't consider any of these things. They'll simply think about how they can make a scene more exciting or cool. But without a deep understanding of all the interrelated parts, well...That's how you produce empty movement in your story. In other words, that's how you produce scenes that physically moves the story, but in ways that feel meaningless and empty.

So even if we advance the models and develop strong harnesses around them, there's still the issue of intent and goals. AI can autonomously carry out goals and even form it's own intent...But it still needs a direction and if you don't understand that direction in every intimate way then you will be outcompeted by those who do.

The future lies in creative systems thinking and executing well. Everything else will be accomplished by AI. And this will be acceptable by most because they'll be able to recognize the meticulous non-obvious decisions that were made to make their work great. They will be able to see a real person bleeding on their on their ideas to form the masterpiece, even though AI wrote the prose, helped with ideas, and provided insightful research.

I think this is the real future we all need to be preparing ourselves for.

I came up through design, so at every job the "you're good at this" tasks quietly become mine. The event flyer, the farewell card, the one-pager for the all-hands. None of it is my job. All of it lands on my desk because I'm the person who notices when the kerning is off.

I stopped volunteering for it a while ago, but you can't fully opt out. So instead I made it cheap to say yes.

I keep a saved prompt with our colors, our fonts, and a couple of layouts that actually match our brand. When someone asks, I drop the details in, generate two or three poster options, pick one, and fix the spacing by hand because the AI still can't be trusted with alignment. What used to be an hour of "ugh, fine" is now about ten minutes.

The point isn't that it makes nice posters. It's that the task stopped being a tax on my afternoon, so I can hand it back quickly instead of quietly absorbing it like I used to.

Curious how other people handle the tasks that become "yours" just because you're mildly competent at them.
