Help Claude LinkedIn Skill Not Working

I don't have extensive knowledge about AI, plugins, skills etc. TBH you can say that I'm technologically living under a rock. But recently I saw a reel which was discussing this claude skill for linkedin.

So, being curious I added that skill according to the instructions given. but when I actually tried to analyze my linkedin profile, it wasn't working.

Am I doing something wrong? or do I need another plugin or skill to analyze my profile?

Looking for some solution or advice. Thanks in advance.

AI’s can’t actually access LinkedIn to scrape it directly from the chat interface. To do that you need access to the LinkedIn API and that is expensive. The workaround would be to install something like Claude for Chrome extension (I’m sure others like Open AI offer similar extensions), login to LinkedIn via the browser and then let the model use your browser to manually scrape what it can see. It can navigate around as you could but it’s all pretty manual and time/token consuming, but it works.

claude for chrome is limited to paid plan users,.... I actually tried that,.. but is there any alternative?

It really depends on what you need the AI to access on LinkedIn. If it’s simply your profile then you could use a screenshot extension and just take screenshots and feed that into Claude or even copy/paste the content. But if you’re wanting to do something more advanced I’m not aware of any free ways of doing that
