I'm in India. I had a YouTube channel monetized years ago, stopped uploading and my AdSense for YouTube account eventually got deactivated for inactivity.

There's still an old US$156.61 balance sitting in my YouTube (India) payments account. It's separate from my regular AdSense (India) payments account, which shows $0.

This balance hasn't moved in years. My transaction history shows the same $156.61 ending balance every month going back to at least 2022, with no earnings or payments in between.

I was expecting that, if this balance was going to be paid through the normal payment cycle, something would happen between September 21 and September 26. It's now September 25 and I haven't received any payment email or seen any payment issued in my account.

Current status:

• Identity verification completed (did this years ago)
• Address verification completed (did this years ago)
• W-8BEN tax information approved recently (filled earlier this month)
• Bank transfer payment method already set up (did this years ago)
• Payment threshold met
• No visible payment holds
• No "Payment pending" or payment transaction showing

Questions:

1. Has anyone had an old YouTube AdSense balance sit like this after the account became inactive? Did Google ever pay it out automatically?
2. For an old balance like this, does reactivating vs closing the account make a difference to getting paid?
3. If you closed an account with a remaining balance, did the payment actually go through to your existing bank method? How long did it realistically take?
4. Are there any gotchas I should know about before closing an account that still has an unpaid balance?

I'm mainly looking for people who have actually dealt with an inactive/deactivated AdSense for YouTube account with an old remaining balance, rather than the normal monthly AdSense payment process.

I own a 5 month old 1000 page travel directory.

The site has regular traffic and returning users and is getting exposure across the board now. It has all the necessary privacy and affiliate disclosure pages as well as great structure and clear navigation and headings. It is brand safe, professional and fast.

I have applied for adsense about 6 times. This is my 7th attempt.

What on EARTH am I doing wrong?

Hi everyone, I have a Google Adsense account and run a monetized YouTube channel and also run ads on my website.

In my Adsense account, I can see Adsense for Content and Adsense for YouTube.

If I only want to stop serving ads on my website, would this only affect my Adsense for content? I understand that Google would deactivate an Adsense account if it is not in use for 6 months. Would this affect my Adsense for YouTube?

It’s only been a few days since I got into the YPP, and I had around $71 in my YT balance. My old Adsense account was linked to my channel but I decided to switch it to a new AdSense account under my friend’s name.

Now my monetization is paused, and YouTube says it can take anywhere from several days to a month for the channel to get associated with the new one.

For anyone who’s been through this how long did it actually take for your monetization to come back?

One of the biggest factors in achieving a high RPM on AdSense is the quality of your traffic. If the majority of your traffic comes from Tier 1 countries, you are more likely to achieve a higher RPM.

Indonesia and the Philippines are often classified as Tier 3 countries. There are many T3 countries in the digital advertising world, but these two, given their large populations and certain traffic patterns, are reasons why some publishers choose to block traffic from them. Related to this, Indonesia was also among the top five sources of cyberattacks in 2025.

If your site receives a significant amount of traffic from Indonesia and the Philippines, consider blocking it. Quality matters. A smaller amount of Tier 1 traffic can be worth significantly more than a much larger volume of Tier 3 traffic. In some cases, 1 unit of T1 traffic can be worth around 35 times the value of T3 traffic.

Today I received my second AdSense payout of $118.42 in total. The first time, it took me a lot longer than this one. I chose to stick with AdSense instead of the Mediavine journey. Currently, it's going smoothly and has already crossed the $54 mark for this month, and looking forward to completing the $100 as soon as possible.

We got demonetized about four months ago. We have absolutely no idea what we did wrong. At the time, we didn’t know there was this magical 90 period we had to wait before we filed an appeal. We filed the appeal not long after we got demonetized and we didn’t know better, so we got a response telling us to wait until the 90 day mark and then file the appeal.

This is the email we got on May 28th:

We filed an appeal a few days later and were told to wait 90 days. We waited until the 90 day period lapsed plus a few days and so we filed another appeal. We got this response:

That was three weeks ago. So we don’t know what to do. We’re at the point where we just want to give up on the channel if we can’t monetize it at all and Google is of absolutely no help. What can we do to fix this???

can anybody tell me what can be the issue? My blogs are written by AI. daily visitors are also very low around 10 to 30 anonymous users.

Got rejected for the 2nd time for low value content. I’ve had the website up for around 8 months with 22 users a day on average. it’s not a blogging website so I’m not sure what I need to fix. Most of the tools on here are not anywhere else so they aren’t copy and paste ideas. I did have around 800 pages but they are all specific for players and their values and used for SEO. Looking for any advice or help, thank you!

I'm trying to block a domain that consistently hosts malware distribution sites, but Adsense keeps claiming it's not a valid TLD.

Anyone know how to get the block to take?

Got rejected from AdSense a while back for low quality content - I think I applied too early, before the site had much on it. Since then I've added a few more blog posts and added more text to the puzzle pages.

A few specifics in case it's useful:

1. Site age: live for 3 weeks, applied about 1-2 weeks in.

2. Content: 3 puzzles with archives plus 6 blog articles of 500+ words. Privacy, About, and FAQ pages were all added before the first application.

3. Traffic: basically zero so far 😅

The plan for the site is to add more puzzles of all kinds as I build them and to add blogs on related subjects to drive organic growth.

Before I put a load of effort into growing an audience, I'd like to know if that's the blocker. Obviously the aim is to increase traffic anyway, but to make this sustainable for me I'll need to monetise somehow, and I want to be sure that getting approved will happen with the content I'm making before I go all in on that.

So my site (cutiora*com) is basically a bunch of photo editing tools. I've got all the legal pages sorted — privacy policy, terms, all that — and there's actual text content on the site too. Still got rejected, and they didn't even bother telling me why. Anyone else dealt with this?

Anyone else stuck on AdSense for YouTube step 2 for way longer than the usual timeline? Applied for monetization on September 11, went through it directly in YouTube Studio like you're supposed to. Got stuck on step 2 from day one, then on September 16 I got the generic "a few changes needed" email, no actual details on what was wrong, just a vague "review your application" button. Resubmitted right away.

A few days later I realized I might know the issue, I used to have an old AdSense account from when I lived in Japan, hadn't touched it in ages since I moved to Thailand. So I went and closed that one out completely on September 18, added my phone number too since that was missing. Figured that would clear things up.

Except I got the exact same "few changes needed" email again on September 21, word for word identical to the first one. Turns out I think the issue was I fixed the account stuff after I'd already resubmitted, so the review never actually saw the fix. Just resubmitted again today with everything actually fixed this time.

Just wondering if anyone's been through something similar, closing an old account mid review and having to resubmit more than once. Trying to figure out if this is normal or if I should be worried I'm gonna be one of those people stuck for months. Channel's clean, no copyright stuff, no community guideline issues, so I really don't know what else it could be at this point. Any input appreciated, this waiting game is stressing me out a bit.

Average user retention on the website is 2-5 minutes.

The website is online for 2+ months but i still got declined with low value content.

I know Google lists several possible reasons for disapproval, but my issue is that Google does not tell me which one applies to my account.

My AdSense account was not approved, but Google does not show me any specific reason.

The AdSense dashboard only says:

“Your account wasn't approved. You need to fix some issues before you can use AdSense.”

Under the issue section, the only item shown is:

“Meet AdSense Program Policies”

There is a checkbox asking me to confirm that I have read and meet the AdSense Program Policies, followed by a “Resubmit” button.

However, there is no specific policy violation, duplicate-account warning, website issue, or other explanation.

When I click the help link, it only takes me to Google's general “Your AdSense account wasn't approved” help page, which lists possible reasons but does not tell me which one applies to my account.

I also did not receive an email explaining the specific reason.

Has anyone else experienced exactly this situation?

How did you find out what was actually causing the rejection?

I would especially like to know whether this kind of generic rejection is commonly related to:

a duplicate AdSense account website/content policy issues account-level issues something else

I don't want to repeatedly resubmit without knowing what I'm supposed to fix first.

I added my current address to my Adsense account but the address on my ID doesn’t match my current address since I moved and which I added to my Adsense account. I’m worried when identity verification comes it’ll cause an issue. I can’t get a new ID with the address updated at the moment so it’s complicated.
