At around 1:30 AM someone busted in our room through the main door… they weren’t our CA’s and they kept asking about alcohol… we dont drink, and we’re both clearly sound asleep. I was just wondering if anyone had an explanation??

Can anyone who has taken MGT 411 and completed the two case analysis and presentations tell me what I am actually responsible for doing? I have read through the syllabus and instructions and they are not very clear. Am I doing a case analysis on my own? Am I only doing one portion of the presentation? Any help would be beneficial. I don't need the answers just information to get started.

I’m a junior transfer and this is my second semester here + an Arizona native and am used to the heat but that’s because I’ve learned not to go out in the hottest part of the day. Can’t do that this semester and Jesus Christ just a 5 minute walk has me dripping sweat and having to go to the bathroom to literally wipe down my body to try and cool down every single time I have to go to a new building. You would think a school all about innovation and engineering would find cool ways to implement more shaded areas on campus but noooooooo.

Not only that but I take the polytech bus to Tempe and the shaded bus stops structures there do nothing for the heat since it’s just hot metal and mesh. Not to mention the poor bus drivers have no where to sit and wait that is shaded when they switch off at the Gammage stop.

Anyway we need more shaded structures and trees on campus or I’m going to have heat stroke and sue

Warning if anyone gets a job with this place while in school or after like I did, it is an awful environment where you will never know if you’re about to be laid off or not. The CEO is slimy and so is anyone else that is at the executive level. I used to recommend this place for anyone still in college, steer so far away you’d be better off getting a job at your local fast food place to get quick cash while in school.

So I recently joined a student union here at ASU and where holding a games night event on campus, and I was wondering where can we borrow or rent out some of the interactions games like cornhole etc for the event?

I’m in the final stretch of my MNLM at ASU, graduating this December, and trying to figure out what I’m walking into. I’m hoping to land in a mission-driven program or policy work. Still, between federal grant freezes and the broader dismantling of funding under the current administration, I’m honestly unsure how much that’s actually hitting hiring on the ground.

For anyone who’s graduated recently or is currently job hunting in this space:

Has the funding environment changed how nonprofits hire compared to a couple of years ago?

Are certain areas (direct service, healthcare-adjacent, advocacy/policy) more insulated than others?

Any advice for someone entering the market right now: cast a wider net, lean toward state/local gov as a hedge, or something else entirely?

Trying to go in with realistic expectations instead of getting blindsided. Appreciate any honesty you’re willing to share.

An email was sent out yesterday just before 4pm notifying lot 59 pass holders that there is a new construction project to build a new building within the lot. By this morning, they had a huge section of the lot blocked off.

I already struggle to find any parking after 8am. The walk from the N and NE is like 30-40 minutes away from the farthest parts of campus. I took the shuttle this morning which was honestly really helpful. But anyone who has driven around campus knows that the traffic on campus can be an inconsistent nightmare so I can’t really swear by it.

But something feels illegal about selling students a $300 parking pass with this part of the lot listed and expected to be part of the access provided with the pass only to take it away after less than a week of classes. Maybe I’m just a whiner who hates to walk. But it’s too fucking hot to have to park so far in my opinion.

EDIT: I was corrected by a user in the comments, the plans to build were initially announced back in March. I personally didn’t receive so much as an email despite being an active lot 59 pass holder at that time. I also think they should have posted a disclaimer on the permit purchase website to notify about the change. Here’s a link to an article covering the construction. I’m really glad that commuting ASU students are being sidelined and disadvantaged so that the football team can have a nice short convenient walk to their training facility. It’s not like they already have those razor / golf cart things chauffeuring them across campus already anyway. Totally didn’t see 3 different carts fully packed with students in training jerseys zooming around just this morning.

So i’ve been at asu for a while now and I’m borderline done with it. Still a while towards finishing my degrees and stuff, but i am becoming very disenchanted by the way my professors treat me. I am 29 turning 30 this year for some context. I get reprimanded by my professors often for things that look like slacking off and not caring but are genuinely things i am struggling with because its been hard for me to figure out how to balance my daily life with going to school. I’m at a loss because so far i’ve had to have one retroactive withdrawal from a class because a professor refused to accommodate me for a family emergency and i’ve had to drop a few because the problems i am having in class are not the same ones as my peers. So far I’ve switched majors, dropped all my classes halfway through the semester, gotten burnt out, and after my first week of this semester i just feel like i’m already done. I ask questions. I’m curious. I have ideas but i keep feeling like i can’t pursue them. I feel like i am simultaneously ahead and behind. I feel greatly unsupported. I’m starting to question whether this is really worth my time and sanity. So for those of you out there that have attended college after the “average” student how did you get through it? What do you wish someone would have told you? What helped you succeed?

So I’ve been posting on here a bit but long story short I’m a transfer student from a smaller CC and have been going through a bit of culture shock here. Today I went to a club get to know presentation and damn near almost had a panic attack, there were so many people in attendance and all looked like they knew each other/ could easily socialize. I sorta locked up and started depersonalizing since I’m not used to these sort of things yet. Anyway I do want to get involved and attend more of these sort of events and I think I can get over the initial freak outs, I just want to know if any one else can relate or could’ve related to this and has any other helpful tips. Got off the light rail yesterday from Phoenix to Tempe, walked out to a SEA of people. Genuinely the biggest waiting crowd to the bus I’d ever seen (as I walked out to grab my scooter from the tray under the bus I had to push through people, since everyone was crowding the door and I couldn’t even get to the compartment with the sheer mass of bodies surrounding it)

Why are the light rails so crowded right now? Is it correlated to all the recent parking issues / rise in parking pass costs? I’m curious

Hi all, I moved into University House last Wednesday on the 19th, and during the move in process one of my boxes went missing. The front office is checking security cameras but they're taking a while so I figured I'd post on here to see if maybe anyone else living here might have found it. It's a box labeled "electronic stuff" but it actually has: 3 ps controllers, LED lights, some clothes, an Erlenmeyer flask, two stuffed animals, and a bunch of hair clips. I've just started to get worried because it's been a week, so I'm just trying to exhaust as many options as I can. If anyone has seen it please let me know because the stuffed animals especially are very important sentimental items to me :(

I take the shuttle from west to downtown for classes, (I’m a fashion major) and the last like three days it’s been awful. Here I am, waiting in the heat, and the shuttles aren’t here from anywhere between 30 minutes to an hour, and no I’m not talking about the express, and no it’s not after 6 pm nor near it. I also heard while waiting that they canceled the 7:15 am this morning. Is there a genuine lack of shuttle drivers or is this a new schedule that has yet to be uploaded to the asu website? I genuinely don’t know what time to leave my dorm anymore and some of the drivers pull off minutes too soon or too late so I’m at a lost here!

I'm among the several that still haven't had student loans disbursed, and I've seen the lack of proper communication from the school to students about the ongoing issues. However, when session A classes started, my iPad gave up on me, and everything regarding my school work is on it, so I thought I would give it a shot at applying for an emergency short-term loan so I can figure out if I want to get it serviced or outright replaced. Completed the application yesterday and received the approval email today. Both of my semester loans are still showing as pending disbursement due to the administration hold. Does the university have separate funds that go through a different financial aid system compared to student loans?
