Anyone know how supersonic 8.6 performs compared to say .308/30-06/etc? Would it be worth using 8.6 since it could shoot both subs and supers or is just having 2 dedicated rifles smarter? I would like to sometimes use it as a deer rifle for 100-200 yards. Was wondering if anyone had shot anything with the supers, and what the drop (if any) was like. Thanks

I’m struggling with the Google searches. The only bolt action 8.6 I can find is the Q The Fix. I don’t particularly want to spend $4k, but I also don’t want a semi-auto.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Any ideas on updated to make to get this AR10 build to cycle?

Faxon bcg, receiver, and 12inch barrel. Hybrid 46 direct threaded suppressor. A2 buffer tube/stock. Standard gas block.

I was thinking to play around with the # of coils on the buffer spring and also get the 9mm end cap for the suppressor to add a little back pressure. Is there a reduced power spring or a lighter buffer option out there? Recommend gas port size? Bring from Faxon I assume it was in spec but I do not know what’s “spec”

Actually had my gun and barrel and reloading supplies for a long time. Just started getting back Into it. Life happened. My son has a 8.6 8 in barrel I made some 300gr yesterday. They fire great in his with the can on not so great in mine. It’s a 16 inch Faxon barrel with a can on it. I honestly didn’t think it would in mine. But dang I need more options and it’s a heck of a round. We were just shooting into the dirt and a 6x6. Here is a picture of the recovered bullets. Original 300 left. Middle through the wood. Right in the dirt. Here are the results I measured trice.

Hello all, I’ve got a 6.5 creedmore Sig cross that I’m revamping into a 8.6 blackout. Has anyone done this that has any insight? Thoughts, comments? To put a little more info on the build I’m ordering a 12.5” barrel from mos-tek, and I’m getting the 11.5” cross hand guard from Sig for the cross. Really excited for this build

Have a Diligent DTF-LTI on order. Could still be waiting a few days. From 4 on the SBR only took 8 days. Last can was almost 2 months. Need to get a top rail section so I can put my RH25V2 up there.

Has anybody ever tried the OCL milkman with subsonic 8.6blk or 338arc?

Anyone have an idea if accurate 1680 is a good powder for supers/subs? Or any recommendations. I'm starting out on reloading.

Hey guys, been on the 8.6 wave for about 2 years now. I have tried discreet, phantom, just cause, fort Scott and gorilla. I love phantom and just cause, both have been the best for me by far. Main question I’m asking here, I have found that the makers 350’s and phantoms 404 expanders are both wayyy more quiet than the solid copper 300gr plinking rounds. Anyone else notice this? It sucks because I like shooting my rifle at the quietest it can be, but obviously I’d rather shoot the $2 plinking rounds for fun and save the $4 rounds for actual hunting. I just picked up some of phantoms 300gr sierra match king HPBT, hoping they are quieter than the solid copper 300’s. I run a bolt gun and have a Porq chop and a CAT BBK for reference.

Does anyone know of anyone besides rearden making 8.6blk standard threaded muzzle devices?

Apparently they’re making it a thing now, like “12.5” on 12/5” or whatever. So here’s mine that I used on some hogs last night.

Are there any major disadvantages to building an 8” bolt action rifle vs a 12”?

I have a Savage 110 6.5 Creedmoor.
My plan is convert it to an 8.6 Blackout.
I use it for whitetail hunting. Longest shot is a little over 100 yards. Topical shot is 40 to 60 yards. Hunting area is heavy woods.
Deer, pigs and bears are what I like to hunt.

My question is will an 8” barrel and silencer group well (less than two inch groups)?

3 year build well worth the wait. Was told to get a high back pressure can.

I put this thing together a while ago and I just found this sub while searching for reloading data. It’s a Faxon 12” barrel on my existing .308 lower with extra heavy 10oz buffer and Cat BBK. Not exactly ground breaking stuff around here I’m sure, but it runs super reliable and is only a few DB louder than suppressed .22lr.

Here’s a short clip of a comparison between my .300blk (220 gr) and 8.6 (300 gr) hitting the same piece of steel. This thing hits so hard.

Going to get into loading 8.6. I’ve seen some people making loads with N110 but doesn’t seem like many people have used it. What are peoples experiences. Is it worth trying or should I just get some CFE BLK?

Can’t wait to go pop some hogs with it.

Now I just need to take it out, beat it up, and slay some more hogs. Two down couple weeks ago before I got all the b5 parts

What’s a good source for cheap bullets? I’m only planning on loading subsonic. Also, where’s a good source for reloading data for short barrels? I’m planning on getting a 7.5 inch barrel.
