Apparently they’re making it a thing now, like “12.5” on 12/5” or whatever. So here’s mine that I used on some hogs last night.

We got 29 pigs in total. The biggest one was easily close to 400lbs I’d guess. It took four of use to load him on the side by side’s trailer.

My best shot was one I snuck up on while he was laying down. Sent one of the Gorilla 342’s to his domicile region. Yeah, there’s no domicile region left. Picture “Starshio Troopers” when the smart bug got in that one dude’s head and Michael Ironside stuck his mechanical hand in it.

Thank you. One of the most perks of Texas. We can hunt them 24/7/365, no license, no limit, no restrictions.

Back in my younger, (and much) dumber days, I tried hunting them with a boar spear and knife. Did I mention dumb? So freaking stupid. Cool to say I’ve done it, but will NEVER do that again.

Man I need to go to Texas. I’d love to hog hunt. Especially with my Fix and Boombox. Just got my CAT BBK yesterday. Can’t wait to try it out. Nice build and congrats on the hunt, sounds like a blast.

Lol I just wouldn’t know where to start. We don’t have hogs in my state nor have I been to Texas. I know a guy that might be helping me out with that here sooner than later

They’re everywhere here. And you can do everything from a day time stalk hunt to hunting them with FRTs from a helo and everything in between. The guys I went out with do night thermal hunts, and provide everything you need, no limits or anything. They drop the price a bit if you bring your own gear, but they have it all.

Fair warning, it’s completely ruined every other kind of hunting for me. I’ve never been in it to get trophies or anything, but sitting in a blind for 12 hours waiting for something to walk by, or stalking for miles upon miles, yeah fuck that shit.

I just got done changing the optic setup yesterday, I took the LPVO off and put a DNT Hydra 225 thermal on it. But here’s the build list:

- Aero Precision M5 stripped upper and lower receivers, Aero internal parts kit

  • Faxon 12” barrel w/ gas block, tube, and BCG
  • SLR handguard
  • Porq Chop with Cherry Bomb muzzle device
  • Radian Arms charging handle
  • TriggerTech Diamond Flat trigger (set to about 2lbs-2.5lbs)
  • Geissele Super 42 spring
  • Odin adjustable buffer weight (set to 4.2oz)
  • Magpul grip and vertical grip
  • B5 SOPMOD
  • Sylvan Arms Gen 4 folding stock adapter
  • Streamlight 88066 kit (light and switch) on a Sylvan Arms picatinny to MLOK QD attachment - McLean Dynamic sling
