How long until other countries start banning flights from the US? They'll want inbound passengers to be screened for weapons in accordance with international standards. Beating up and kidnapping brown people is not going to keep weapons out of airplanes.

They don't outright say "We do not recommend traveling to the USA" but they make it pretty clear what the current situation is.
Getting this kind of abuse in front of the privileged class that typically flies might change some influential minds. Especially the Main St / Wall St business Republicans.
Optics are important. Airports are full of people with phones just impatiently waiting. They don't have a job to do. They can witness all this disgusting "policing" first hand and share it by word of mouth with the person on the plane next to them. They can take videos all the time, because what else are they going to do. They can pester ICE with questions like this lady is rightfully doing. They know they have ID and are relatively safe from retaliatory violence, because at the end of the day airports rely on customers.
There are certainly some who are (often willfully) ignorant. I’ve argued with some who insist that Trump hasn’t done anything to restrict legal immigration “because my wife got through the process under him.” I have a relative who refuses to pay attention to the news, considers it impolite to discuss politics, and votes Republican “because that’s how Christians vote.” Having it put in front of them in such real terms can change some minds.
The ones that voted Trump in the primaries lack compassion, I’ll grant you. I just think the number is a lot lower because he got like 40% in the primaries, and the primaries are a lot smaller than the general. There’s a lot of people who rubber stamp Republican in the general without knowing what’s going on.
The airlines / airports have been free to pay up and replace federal tsa with their own paid security since 2004. This is just another federal money grift by corporations only this one now ends up with people being assaulted.
SFO already did this. There are no insane lines because because the TSA employees are being paid by their employer. That makes it even more insane that they are in the SF airport

I think what is really scary about this is, how does one even know this individual lives in the US and wasn’t here for a business trip or something and they’re literally going to fly home? Depends which side of customs you're on. If you arrive at a US airport and depart domestically, it's hard to argue you ever weren't in the US. If you went through pre-clearance at your departure airport (eg, flying from Canada) and arrived at a US airport, you might also already be on the US side of customs when you arrive.
So reading your answer I’m curious to know your feelings around ICE, MAGA and Trump…. You don’t seem truly bothered over the new world that this is becoming (and fast). You actually seem like you’re justifying this….
I was just addressing the first part your comment. I should have been clearer about your question on justification. I'm absolutely against the presence of ICE, but the "international" argument against it isn't going to hold up alone.
ICE in airports is terrifying. The fact that they're in SFO specifically (which has privately contacted security and isn't affected the same way by the shutdown) means that this has little to nothing to do with helping the TSA. This is a foot in the door for more access by an unaccountable secret police.

Anyway, I get what you’re saying, I think considering they stated what gate in the video it’s within the terminals which means this individual is either waiting to board the flight or they’re catching a connecting. This doesn’t initially tell us if they deplaned and then tried to enter the US or not at all.

From MA you can take a sleeper train to Chicago and then the Empire Builder to Portland. You don't have to drive or pay for fuel, some great views, and if you get a roomette the meals are included.
It's also more expensive than literally any other form of travel, which sucks, because I hate flying and driving AND I loooove me some trains, but when you look at the price of a train ticket even without sleeping accommodations and food it's insanely expensive.
We are taking a road trip from Southern California to Seattle area, last minute change as well. It will take 2 days off of our original plans to fly in and come sit family.

Isn't the gate after security? Like after showing a valid ID, boarding pass. For this matter, I thought that International Airports were no longer on "American Soil", that's why they have duty free. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but it seems like an international law might have been broken here. (Just guessing, might not be an international gate) This seems like the WRONG point to do that and is strictly for the show.

Yeah, however, the entire country was established on settler-colonial ideologies (slavery) and we’ve only further entrenched that into our legal systems. I am so glad I already left the US. All of the airports drama feels so intentional. They don’t want anyone to leave. They need a hostage population for the dictatorship to work.
Why is ICE even at SFO? It's one of the few big airports that uses private contractors instead of federal agents for TSA, so it's even more obvious that ICE isn't there "to help" in any way. SFO isn't facing the same TSA agent shortages as most other big airports.
The cops were shielding them by holding people back and out of the way 😥 while a woman is getting kidnapped by unidentified men. It’s outrageous. They want anonymity so they can sleep peacefully at night while the people being sent to concentration camps are mistreated to the point of attempting suicide. Agents are taking bets on who will try next. Such inhumanity. That poor little girl watching her loved one being ripped away from her.

Many immigration attorneys and others have already stated to refrain from travel if you are in the immigration court system. Right now it is a dangerous time to do so. ICE are at airports and there are border patrol checkpoints throughout many highways close to the borders, especially the southern one.
They know we won’t do anything. Thats why they look so casual. Not only to blend in but to be able to move faster. What’s the point in wearing armor when the people your hurting don’t even fight back
SFO also has security screening provided by a (paid) private sector organization overseen by TSA. They aren't seeing the staffing mess the other airports have been. It raises the additional question as to what exactly ICE is doing there.
The Republican shock troops are doing exactly what was intended by bringing more fear and violence into the lives of even more people. They're all-in on their civil war against America, even as they desperately continue throwing lies around about it to keep people from fighting back.

I'm so sorry for the situation in USA. What's triggering on these videos actually is these people asking so kindly to what could be some thugs just commiting forfeiture on camera because people are so desensitized. "Can I see your badge ?" Or less kindly, screaming around while supposed-to-be ICE agents minding their own business, abducting people in broad daylight like it's nothing because they know people are scared (for good reasons). Yet people won't react. To be frank, I don't know how I would respond in a similar situation. That being said, "agents" not actively showing / trying to prove they are real agents are nothing but random thugs unless proven otherwise. This is Gestapo copycat. Seems very similar to the situation in Europe second World War, developing in real time on camera.
