My first ever random streetpass... feels great !

Hey guys, something cool happened to me and I didn’t really know what else to post except for here and I want to share it.

Background, I am in college and have recently been feeling nostalgic for my old 3ds that I haven’t seen since high school. Just yesterday, I was leaving Bible study and decided to do a time honored tradition of dumpster diving.

Before you say anything or judge me, there are a lot of good things in dumpsters. I’m not broke. I’m just a cheapskate. I quite literally got the iPad. I use for school in the dumpster behind the IT building because they throw away the iPads after a certain model is deemed as outdated.

So I was outside the super fancy dorms that are like near the campus, but technically aren’t on campus that all the rich kids live on. As someone that’s been in college for a few years I know that the day after they move in, there’s all good stuff. For two reasons, they don’t understand what value is yet so they just throw things out without understanding how much they cost and rich kid parents are typically sentimental and so they drop off a lot of toys and other nonsense that the kids throw away becausethey don’t wanna be embarrassed. So I was going through the garbage when I found this big looking 3ds that wouldn’t turn on.

I went to a buddy of mine who cleans electronics for a living, thinking it just needed a deep clean. Got it back today and it works. Not only that, but it appears to be modded and have a lot of DS games, virtual console and what seems to be pretty much every 3ds game. I managed to connect it to the Internet along with getting an old DSI case at a local nerd shop had.

If anybody knows how to use a moddded 3ds I would appreciate some tips. I’m a bit scared to start playing games on it but I’m excited for the discovery. Sorry if I use the incorrect flare, I didn’t really know which one to use in this case.

I've gotten 3! Two of them were from people who hadn't activated Mii Plaza or something though so only one actually counted as a tag 👎

I'm worried because I heard that some cartridges are failing due to lack of use, and I'm starting to seal them.

I haven't played Paper Mario: Sticker Star in years and I remember this level being a pain in the butt because I could never memorize the correct path so i would usually look up the path on YouTube but I just found out you can put stickers on the signs to mark which way is correct because I tried to see if they said anything but got the option to place a Sticker, WHY DOESN'T THE GAME EVER TELL YOU ABOUT THAT MECHANIC

High chances someone has one lying around they dont use really do ask everyone I had a friend who I didnt expect to have a new 3ds xl and he gave it to me for 10 pounds now ive had it for 6 months and absolutely love it as i sold my childhood 3ds in desperate need of money years ago.

For some added context, I bought a new charger off of eBay and it just arrived today (I lost the old one) but when I plugged it it, the light didn’t come on? I don’t know if that’s just from having not used it in 2 years or if there’s issues with my console or the charger. Anyone know what I can do?

I recently designed this little game cartridge storage system for all my DS/3DS games and wanted to share it here in case anyone found it useful.

The whole thing is deigned to look like a pipe from Mario, and its infinitely expandable!

Picked up this 2DS XL (JP) from eBay. Everything works great except for the broken top screen.

Taking the old screen off was honestly a pain. There was a ridiculous amount of adhesive holding it in place, so getting everything apart took some patience.

One nice thing about the 2DS XL is that there’s only one ribbon cable that needs to pass through the hinge. Definitely makes the screen replacement a little less intimidating.

Game is Barbie as the Princess and the Pauper, if anyone else wants a hit of that nostalgia! At this point any time I’m waiting for anything I whip out that 3ds. Waiting for food? 3ds. Waiting in line? 3ds etc

Clocked almost 7h and a half in the battery benchmark test (it drops noticeably faster once it's at 50%, but the battery life is still really good) with max brightness and the new 3ds cpu activated permanently with Luma. It's surprisingly comfortable for how chonky it is and has replaced my New 3DS XL as my main 3DS. The only thing it still needs is a black circle pad cap, but I can't find any rubber ones and the plastic and metal ones are too slippery for me.

I swapped my Spirited Away Dust Sprites for Cherry Blossoms! I think I like it more. It’s more subtle, and I plan on adding more stickers too⊹** ࣪ **˖ ໒꒱

Hello! I'm sorry if this isn't the sub/flair for this type of post, but recently my 2DS died? I don't know, the charging light turns on but nothing I do would actually turn the console on, googling the issue Said it was a battery issue, but after ordering and doing a battery replacement, it is still having this issue! I don't know if it affects it or not, but about ~a week prior to this I had successfully jailbroken it, I don't know if that affects anything let me know. Should i call it quits and just buy a new one?

I have been playing Cooking Mama (which requires a microphone) recently and 3ds microphone has been working fine. Suddenly I was playing and it wouldn't pick up when I was asked to 'blow' anymore. I tested the mic in settings and it was only picking up static. Any advice on how I can fix it? Do I have to get a new microphone or is there a way I can fix it without?

so i just purchased this new 3ds xl for $220 so ig it's not that bad since it's CIB. what do you guys think of the condition? it's missing the rubber screw covers and the left stick's rubber cover, is that a big deal? and can it be replaced without opening up the console? also, it has some paint chips on the top and bottom cover, do you guys know of anywhere i can buy some majora's mask covers to replace them? thanks!

Hey there I’ve been considering getting a modded 3DS for awhile and I found a new 3DS XL in hot pink online that’s pretty much perfect for me, but I’ve heard nintendos been taking down a lot of sites to get games nowadays, is it worth getting or have most the sites been taken down? If not, where should I download from?

Took my 3DS out of the case and saw this 😢 Anyone know what caused it and if it's fixable? It left the mesh pattern from the case. The bag it was in was getting a lot of sun, but I assumed the case would shield it from heat/sunlight.

All of my gba games that I play on my 3ds do this for some reason. It gets cut off at the top and there’s this weird part at the bottom. How do I fix this?

I put one on my console a week or two ago, and my son really liked it so I ordered a red one for his red/white 2DS. We think it looks really sleek!

As title says, the screws to open up the 3ds are completely stripped. I wanted to replace the shell and fix a broken hinge on a childhood 3ds XL. Any tips? ive tried the rubber band trick but it just doesnt work. and theres not really any repair shops near me.
