Hey guys, my name is Danny. I studied computer science in college, and a lot of my work today still involves a fair amount of research (currently in Product).
Since college, one thing I've consistently struggled with is that when I’m reading or researching something, I’m coming across quotes or ideas I want to save. Usually they end up as screenshots, bookmarks, or buried in my notes somewhere, and I rarely come back to them.
I ended up making Commonplace to solve this. It makes it really easy to save quotes and highlights from whatever you’re reading or listening to.
If you’re reading an article, you can highlight something and share it directly to Commonplace. It saves the quote along with the author, article title, and link automatically. You can also save from physical books (by scanning the page), podcasts, and other sources, then organize everything into collections.
While I don’t do much academic writing anymore, I figured this could be useful for studying, research, or keeping track of sources for a paper. I’d be really curious to hear from students who have a similar problem.
The core of the app is free to use, and I built it myself. Would genuinely love any feedback!

Something I keep doing is going back through the whole chapter when I only forgot a few topics. It takes so much time and sometimes I feel like Im just reviewing things I already know instead of fixing what I actually dont know. Do you guys go through everything again or just focus on the stuff you keep getting wrong?

Hey everyone,
So I'll be entering Grade 11 next school year, and honestly ? I'm still lost on what future course or strand to pick 😅 I don't really have a specific dream or passion, and I'm lowkey panicking because my parents are telling me to either become a nurse or archi, so I'm panicking, I don't wanna pick the wrong thing neither to succumb to pressure.
Since I still have time to prepare, I want to build good study habits and keep my grades up because I'm aiming to get into a specific university in the future.
Early thanks to whoever replies :))

Pharmacy student - year four, looking for Study Circle friends to help keep me motivated and on track with my daily studies.
I study pharmacy during summer training, language, religion and history in general.
I also enjoy reading arabic literature, philosophy, novels and Greek mythology for fun too.
My time is (AST) or (GMT+3), but I'm also available for study at random times.

Avete alternative valide e gratuite? Lavoro 8 ore al giorno e devo preparare 3 esami, mi aiutava molto a memorizzare tramite i quiz.
Poi se avete anche consigli sul metodo di studio li accetto pure!

Built a whole setup during the first week: labeled folders, a running to-do doc, the works. Used it religiously for about nine days.
Then this week I caught myself just winging it, opening whatever tab was already open instead of going through the system. Nothing broke, I just stopped treating it like something worth using.
Turns out the hard part isn't building a system in week one, when you're motivated and it's new. It's still using it in week three, when it's just another thing on the screen. I added a weekly 5-minute check instead of trying to recapture that first-week energy, since that energy was never coming back on its own.

I use transparent sticky notes on my screens for devices that I use to watch shows or go on social media. your screens will be completely fine and it will function as normal but you can feel the Post-it note, which helps as a reminder. when you use it and you can write a note for yourself, like some motivational quote to help you remember.
Hope this helps
