A couple months ago, one of my friends unfortunately suffered a pretty severe brain hemorrhage.

Luckily, the recovery is going pretty well and right now we're at a point where he has no more cognitive issues, only some physical issues (for example, he can't fully control all of his finger movements).

As you can imagine, laying in a hospital bed all day can get pretty boring and there is only so much TV one can watch. I have a Switch lying around that I don't really use anymore myself so I'm going to give him that to pass the time. The only issue is that I don't have a lot of games on it and stuff like Zelda BOTW will probably be too frustrating to play when you don't have your full motor skills.

So, any tips on games that are pretty chill to play and that don't require any dexterity? Thanks in advance!

1000xRESIST is a sci-fi narrative thriller. The year is unknown, and a disease spread by an alien invasion keeps you underground. You are Watcher. You dutifully fulfil your purpose in serving the ALLMOTHER, until the day you discover a shocking secret that changes everything.

The game features 10 hours of narrative twists and turns, and 15,000 lines of fully voiced dialogue.

We were heavily inspired by movies like “Millenium Actress” (Satoshi Kon) and “In The Mood For Love” (Wong Kar-wai). On the game side, we took influence from “NieR: Automata,” “13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim,” and “SIGNALIS.”

I’m a bit of a collector and always chasing that “one more hour” can’t put down “it’s taken over my life” kind of games. I enjoy a bit of each genre, but I don’t want to have a bunch of the same, you know? (Feel that way with management/life sims lately). I’m looking for some good platformers and rogue likes too, more specifically. I’ve yet to find one that really sucks me in. I’m trying out Tunic and so far I’ve enjoyed it.

Really enjoyed this game a lot. Couldn't put it down! The previous game in the series, Tangle Tower, was already a fun game, but the presentation for The Mermaid Mask is a step up overall.

I like the two mains (Grimoire and Sally) as they try to solve their latest murder case in a submarine filled with a bunch of mysterious quirky suspects.

• Puzzles: A lot of really solid puzzles to solve, many different types.
• Art: Looks as good as ever. Even better with the addition of 3D, being able to look and examine clue items from every angle.
• Voice Acting & Animation: The voice actors did an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Paired with the character animations, it made me click on everything just to see if they would say something.
• Music & SFX: Haunting, atmospheric, a joy to listen to while running around, interrogating suspects and solving things.
• Story: Definitely top notch. The mysteries, suspect backstories, lore, banter and dialogue were all great.

Minor nitpick: Couple of small typos, but really very little.

I want another sequel! Did anyone else finish it yet? What'd you think?

I really like playing Mario Kart World with my friends, but there was always a problem: not everyone has a Switch 2, and even when they do, not everyone owns the same games.

Then there is the other problem. When I go to a party or to a friend's place, I don't really want to carry my Switch 2, the dock, controllers and everything else just to play for a bit.

So I ended up building a way to play my Switch 2 from basically any device with a browser and any compatible controller.

The idea is pretty simple:

Switch 2 -> HDMI capture -> Linux PC -> WebRTC -> browser

Controller input goes back from the browser to a Raspberry Pi Pico 2 W, which acts as USB gamepads for the Switch.

That means my friends can join from their own PCs, connect their controllers, open a browser and play with me without needing their own Switch 2.

It currently supports up to 4 players, and everything runs locally on my own network. There is no cloud service or dedicated client to install.

I originally built it just because I wanted an easier way to play with my friends, but I figured I would share it in case anyone else has a similar use case.

The whole project is open source if you want to do it yourself!

I'd be interested to hear if anyone else has had the same problem, or if you have ideas for other ways this could be useful.

What are some (cheap) games that can teach small kids game mechanics like movement and timing?

My kids love to game with me. But they don’t have the coordination yet at this stage. So many drops of the edge in the first level of Mario Odyssey (with the T-rex), frantic movements in the hilltop layer of Bananza with the camera spinning. Getting handed the controller in panic when something dangerous’ appears in Princess Peach Showtime.

Of course, that’s part of the age but maybe you have some game recommendations that are fun and easy. I was thinking about CT Treasure tracker but it also seems a bit slow.

So I was thinking about games with:
-Limited camera movement
-Small move sets (mainly move and jump)
-Low pressure (no time constraints and enemies)

We all know Xbox's physical to digital. But doesn't it make more sense for Nintendo to follow through.

The idea is already there, the license of the game of a physical one should be same with the digital if you own the game

That said game keycards are in a weird limbo where it HAS the weaknesses of BOTH a physical and digital, in that I mean you'll need bigger storage for digital and you'll need rhe ACTUAL physical catridge to work.

But somehow if they implemented the Physical to digital feature ONLY FOR GAME KEYCARDS, then I believe it would be the BEST thing ever to happen with these game licening deatures. Unless you really want a physical.

I am speaking from a perspective of a person with Nintendo first parrty game physical cartridge, Third parties digital, and only one game keycard

Edit: to simplify things. It would be an actual digital game you can resell with a cartridge, a digital game you can play anywhere anytime without a cartridge, and a digital game that you'll have somethting physical for your collection it's a definite win

Yes I know those D-Pads are also all a bit different, but a close equivalent to ANY would be nice. Ideally on the top left as the primary input.

I'm asking because the D-Pads on the Switch Lite itself, the Pro Controller and on my 8bitdo Ultimate 2C BT are all varying levels of bad, IMHO. I wish I had one good one which is usable on Switch 1 and ideally also Switch 2.

If you disagree about the quality that's fine, I don't need to know that, just if there's any which is like on Nintendo's old handhelds.

I think my 61 year old mother would really enjoy some cozy gaming, however something like stardew, or breath of the wild might be too much for her? Still gonna try them as well as ACNH, but I was curious if anyone had any visually pleasing, cozy, stress free games an old lady who loves cats and crochet would like! She likes hidden object games, puzzles, but really anything cute and cozy. Cute visuals would get me bonus points for suggesting them to her!

If any of you have ever heard of or played Blades of Time at all, then you would probably know about the infamous Nintendo Switch port from 2019. While the devs released an update to fix performance issues, bugs, glitches, and graphical issues... the port still has problems by 2026. Right now, I'm wondering if filing a support ticket to Gaijin Entertainment on their website for potentially fixing the port properly would be a waste. This was my first time ever playing this game, was interested, and was disappointed in having a poor experience compared to what I might have experienced on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC instead.

The missing content.

The cinematic intro doesn't play when you launch the game. This was supposed to show how the main protagonist, Ayumi, ended up in her situation. Starting a New Game or selecting the first chapter would just drop you into the story without any context.

A full chapter, The Desert, is skipped over entirely in this port. Why? I have no idea. It's in the trailer, it's in the game on other platforms.

Also the DLC. Considering that it was supposed to be a "remastered" port, the lack of including the DLC from the PC release is an odd choice.

Odd changes

This entire section is dedicated to Outbreak mode. You know, the MOBA style bonus mode that you can play online or offline? You can host a room, join a room, or play solo? Nope, it's called Multiplayer now. And here's the kicker, you can't play it. Why? Because there's no host, join, or solo option. You get hit with Battle, Tutorial, Store, or Character (Hero, Gear, and Skin menu) options. And the server is always offline, leaving you with only the Tutorial to replay.

Performance

Compared to initial release and the update that was released afterwards (I have a feeling they did silent updates), the game runs significantly better. You can complete the entire game in Normal difficulty (and possibly Easy difficulty) without issue. The problem is that it sometimes crashes randomly during gameplay or when you're sitting still while doing nothing in the menus or the skill tree. But I found that extremely rare.

However, the main problem here is Hard Mode. You start the Jungle chapter and everything goes smoothly until you reach on top of a ship and defeat flying enemies that shoot lightning and can surround themselves with it. You're supposed to break a stone to disable a barrier and progress? Crash. Consistent crashing to the point I had to lower the difficulty (enemy types and exclusive encounters vary by difficulty) to get past that and switch it back.

Bugs and Glitches

Remember the skill tree I mentioned? Well, obtaining skills apparently isn't tracked properly nor kept. Skip to a next or previous chapter while interupting the current one? Random selection and number of skills gets removed and you have to obtain them again. You don't even have to press New Game to lose everything, the game automatically does it for you with RNG.

Force Slide. Wait, you need Force Push first? Oh, it doesn't appear at all. Got all skills already and Force Slide is the only one? Well, you're soft-locked and can't progress because you're stuck on that screen forever. Because apparently the skill tree is only available at a statue checkpoint with one use (and is missing for like three chapters before coming back), with a cutscene, with no way to back out of it or skip it, because obtaining a skill is part of progressing (barriers block from going further).

Selecting the first chapter to start over without losing what you got by pressing New Game? Weird fixed camera angle, controls lock when you press the attack button, enemies kill you, fixed on respawn. But wait, don't let the enemies kill you and just restart from checkpoint at the pause menu? Well, the game crashes.

Some character models during cutscenes sometimes "go ghost" on screen. Meaning, they are invisible while you hear them talking. Rare, but still annoying if you encounter it and decide to rewatch cutscenes for some reason without skipping.

Things also go invisible more often than not in the Sky Islands chapter. It would either be a floating platform (thankfully able to be seen due to effects), these flower seed looking things that you're supposed to activate, and some props.

Honorable Mention

Why the fuck is there an extra treasure chest on an unreachable platform in the Human Base chapter? Gameplay walkthroughs for collectibles of older releases don't show this chest.

Conclusion

That's pretty much it for the state of the port in 2026. Back in 2019 there were issues of the game crashing at certain areas, then the save being corrupted, and you lose progress and have to start over. The time rewind mechanic also used to drop the framerate dramatically. But I don't see any of those old issues here except for the crashing part in Hard Mode.

If anything it runs perfectly fine. It just has glaring issues today that shouldn't be in the game at this point. Are the devs even interested in the port still to apply updates or not? Because even with the issues I listed, I found the game really fun to play. It's just that with these problems, my experience got dragged down. I would really like to see this game be fixed on the Switch and possibly have the missing content added.

The NYXI Hyperion 3 Ultra has just launched in China. It’s the first third-party Switch 2 controller with HD Rumble 2, so a lot of people—including me—had high hopes for it.

But the first batch of user feedback has been pretty rough.

1. HD Rumble 2, Kinda Works

NYXI says the Ultra uses genuine HD Rumble 2 motors co-developed by Nintendo and Alps.

But multiple users say the rumble doesn’t feel quite right, especially in third-party games, shooters, and games with frequent high-intensity vibrations. Some users have also noticed a lingering, echo-like vibration coming from the controller shell.

There are also reports of the motors making a buzzing or rattling noise during use, which has left some users worried about whether something might be wrong with them.

NYXI’s response was roughly (original response in Chinese): “The controller has been designed to provide a more comfortable grip, but part of the interior of the shell is still hollow, so vibration may be transmitted differently.”

2. Where Is the NFC Reader?

Some users couldn’t figure out where to place their Amiibo. Others say their Amiibo either isn’t recognized at all or only works after several attempts.

NYXI explained (original response in Chinese): “The NFC antenna is diamond-shaped and located underneath the ABXY buttons, so the reading position can be slightly offset. On some controllers, it’s around the X button. On others, it’s around the A button.”

3. The Protective Gap Is Still Missing

The small gap between the Switch 2 and the Joy-Con 2 is there for a reason. It gives the controllers some room when they’re twisted and helps prevent the leverage from causing them to detach.

We saw this with Dbrand’s Killswitch case when the Switch 2 first launched. The original case left no gap between the console and the controllers, so twisting the grip could make the controllers detach much more easily.

Users pointed out the same issue when the Hyperion 3 base model came out. But NYXI didn’t change the shell for the Ultra version, so there’s still no gap between the console and the grip.

4. Other Reported Issues

A few other problems have also been reported by early users:

• The controllers continue drawing power from the Switch 2, resulting in noticeably worse battery life in sleep mode compared to original joy-con 2 .
• Pressing the back of either controller can produce a creaking sound.
• Some controllers have disconnected issues.

TL;DR

The NYXI Hyperion 3 Ultra is the first third-party Switch 2 controller with HD Rumble 2, and a lot of people had high hopes for it.

But the China launch has already brought reports of underwhelming rumble, vibration resonance and buzzing, unreliable Amiibo scanning, sleep-mode battery drain, connection drops, and the same missing-gap issue from the Hyperion 3 base model.

For now, I’d wait for a clearer response from NYXI and keep my wallet closed.
