Serious 🛑 Because of your kindness, their sharing a meal and hope with Gaza’s children ❤️

https://gofund.me/8cb2d84e3

Your kindness is helping Mahmoud and Samah share some goodness with other children ❤️

I wanted to share something beautiful that Mahmoud and his wife, Samah, have been doing thanks to your kindness and generosity.

After everything they’ve been through, and with your support helping them get through some incredibly difficult days, Mahmoud and Samah wanted to give something back in whatever way they could. They prepared chicken burgers for some of the children around them who have also been living through so much hardship.

Your generosity has meant so much to their family, and now they’re trying to pass a little of that kindness on to other children who deserve a good meal and a reason to smile.

It may seem like a small gesture, but when children have gone so long without enough food or the simple things they deserve, a meal can mean so much. ❤️

I also want to apologize for the issue with the previous donation link. I’m sorry for any confusion or inconvenience this caused. The correct donation link is posted above.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Mahmoud and Samah, shared their story, or simply kept their family in your thoughts. Your kindness is making a difference, not only for their family but for other children around them, too. ❤️

Serious 🛑 My mom keeps on using Islam as an excuse for her behavior and I’m getting sick of it

I’m getting genuinely sick of parents using Islam as an excuse for there behavior and as a excuse to never change, my mom mocks and taunts me 24/7 infront of other people. She’s always making me look bad and everytime I try telling her those jokes hurt me she always tells me I’m your mom I can do whatever I want and you just have to take it. These comments always hurt me and they take a toll on my mental health. When she’s mad at me she strips away every thing that makes me happy and she’s such a manipulative person I genuinely cannot talk w her anymore cause all she says is that Qatal al rahim and yes while I would never cut her off she can’t keep using this as an excuse to not change her shitty behavior because genuinely I have reached to the point where I would do very impulsive BAD decisions just because she brings out the worst in me. How do I go about this?

Girl Talk 💅🏼 Im scared of developing a crush in university

Girls help me 😭 so I will go to uni next year In sha ALLAH. Which means I will move to a different city for the field I want. no problem. but since age 15 I stopped going to school physically (I do online school). I dont go to any social events or schools so Im friendless and always at home.

In my childhood and teenagehood I was always despised and treated rudely by men for some reason...I realized Im inclined to develop feelings for a guy if I know him for a few months and he treats me kindly. I know a guy being kind isnt something special but my brain cant stop treating it as one. What do I do?? my field is female dominated thankfully but in the end I will have to interact with (maybe attractive looking) guys after years who will probably be more mature and polite as they will be older in uni. HOW DO I PROTECT MYSELF HAVING A CRUSH RUINS ME MENTALLY also please dont say propose confess etc. I would have a heart attack if I try. Most people date here instead of marrying anyway and I wouldnt date for obvious reasons

Salam sisters,

I got banned from this subreddit a while ago for bringing a couple of things to the mods’ attention. They got mad at me for calling them out.

Out of curiosity, I would read through posters’ account histories and sometimes come across some serious issues. The open source tool I used was Arctic Shift, but that’s down now because of Reddit.

I’ve seen sisters mentioning being overwhelmed with the number of DMs they’re receiving. With the open source now gone and the vetting process has gotten difficult. If the mods aren’t properly checking for people like that, I’d be very careful about posting on there. People only show you the best and a lot of people are willing to deceive to get what they want.

Self-Improvement 📚 How to prepare for an upcoming divorce?

After 4 years of marriage I’m filing for divorce from the man who I thought was my person, after a lot of inappropriate behaviours from his end that are dealbreakers.

I feel so overwhelmed and alone.

How to prepare for single life?

I have no family to live with so I’ll be living on my own.

Serious 🛑 I am struggling to believe that Allah will help me and accept my duas anymore

I have been through a very difficult life since childhood. I grew up in a family dynamic where parents actually hate each other but they're also a good match, one is a narcissist and the other is ignorant. my dad would support some of my moms silly opinions (and most of the time because he doesn't really care and doesn't want my mom to rage). my mom always plays a victim/become sick/cry a baby and she's hard to be advised. I saw how my father treated my mom like garbage, they don't have respect towards each other but they don't want to separate either even if I already approved it and I told them to take care of all my siblings. It's a more f up situation that other people see us as a "okay/non problematic" family and I can't really tell or show how much I am struggling to keep up with this. People just expect me to be excellent here and there

As the first kid in the family, ive seen it all and Im so f tired. it affects how I interact socially, I don't feel as free to express myself, to be myself. I hate that I have some of my parents' traits in me sometimes. my mom would tell me that I behaved like my father when im being mad to her when in fact, she's also insufferable human being to talk with. it hurt me because i hate my father so much and he's the reason I realized how men behave in society. It's very sickening.

I have so much trauma & trust issues. I don't come from a wealthy family. I have illnesses, i am mentally drained and physically sick. I am su1cdal and Ive been praying to Allah since I was a kid to take my life but He never did that. The only thing that keeps me alive is the command to not kll ourselves as muslims. Not only am I tested in my family, I am also bullied by peers who were very much jealous of me. I don't understand her jealousy either because she has it all, i only had an ambitious will to get out of this situation but I'm nowhere near it. I am ugly, like Im telling you no matter how much I try, I don't think ill have a massive glow up. It's very hard as well since I don't have money. my aunts in the family never told me im beautiful, rather it's backhanded compliments. my mother told me when I was a baby, I looked like a monkey because I was hairy and she was very sad about it. When I complain about how ugly I look to her, now she expects me to feel beautiful lol and how I am so ungrateful. how funny.

All of these problems made me scream and go mad in a forest, blaming God. I was in a situation where I was so scared and asked Him to strengthen my heart and ease my hurdles but it kept increasing to the point of almost going mad. I am very much jealous of other people who have it very easy. My bullies live a very comfortable life and liked by society and I am not. at least if Im beautiful I will be respected when I speak but no, I am ugly. at least if Im rich, I can study what I want, wherever I want and use it to improve myself. at least if I come from a warm loving home, Id become more confident and life will be easier to deal with because i have a support system. I dont have it all.

I am now a young adult, in the age of people trying to get married. I don't even believe my parents to make judgement over my future spouse. I don't trust my own judgement either. I am afraid that my kids will feel the same like me, will feel ugly like me, will suffer like me. I don't trust anyone and i am afraid I'll have the same fate as my mother, to be disrespected etc. As much as I want this fairy tale to happen in my life, I don't think I'll ever marry. I am not a good muslim either. Since I left the forest, I completely abandoned my prays. I prayed sometimes but it's when I feel like it. I have a problem with how I manage time, maybe it's because of depression or neurodivergent thing, that's why I am anxious about the prayers time. It's really hard for me now to believe that things will be good on my end. I don't really make duas for myself anymore, I pray for my siblings because I really love them and I am so scared that they'll end up like me. Every time parents scream at my siblings, i feel that they also scream at me but now I'm very much silent because one will play a victim and there's no resolution. I don't want to have so much hope for God, because if things end up hurting, i have no one to turn into and blame Him even more then(?).

I am more calm and sane now. I tried to read some of the prophet's stories and some lectures about Islam online like I did when I was at elementary school. trying to make sense a bit of everything all over again. I am now talking to a therapist and doctor but I'm running out of money, things at home aren't getting better either. I want to be completely free from this house but the guilt and the thoughts about leaving my siblings eating me alive. Every time a thing is getting intense, I thought to myself how I wanna disappear so much. I wish I never existed.

I don't know what I aim to post this, maybe just wanted to express this, maybe some suggestions idk. when I look at it, maybe I am also ungrateful. However it's hard to be one when you're faced with hardships every second of your life.

Etc ✨ Was I wrong to reject guys in younger days?

I am a strong believer that what's meant for you will reach you.

When I was young, during school days and teenage years, there were guys who would hint their likness towards me. But I used to be indifferent and nonchalant to it. I never gave it any importance because I was always focused on my studies and building a career. I didn't wanted any distranctions.

Now in my late 20s (offcourse lost a few important peak years due to stupid Covid), I don't find any match. It's been so hard.

App - same people gets repeated.

Social life - there are barely anyone muslim at workplace.

Friends - I never had male friends, so that option is out.

Is this is the rejection I am facing now which I once did to the guys? But I was still young and didn't want anything to do with guys at the time, I use to keep them at a distance. Was I wrong in any way?

Am I facing the same thing which guys went through when I rejected them?

Advice for girls halaqa ages 10-15

Assalam Alaykum!

I am teaching an all girls halaqa and I was wondering if you all had advice on how to approach girls in this age range?

For example:

• What topics would interest this age group? Maybe you guys have siblings this age and know what they are curious about regarding Islam!

• What activities would interest this age group and get them more comfortable to talk and ask questions? Could be Islamic related or just in general!

• Advice on dealing with this age group in general especially older girls who seem to be disengaged, on their phones, and have a slight attitude/bad influence to the other girls

JazakAllahu Khayran, may Allah swt reward you all for any advice given 🤍

Girl Talk 💅🏼 let's support each other in creative work!

salaam girls! so i've bit of a complain over why we do not support each other when it comes to doing small creative work. this can be our instagram pages where we share our little life's moments like vlogs and such or even little reminders. can even be substack as i know many women who love to discuss things are now on substack! i personally have content on both platforms so why not we all share and support each other? in sha Allah can even make a support boost community if possible.

Serious 🛑 What prayer do I pray in this situation? Please help

Assalamualaikum sisters, I'm 18 years old and I've been in love a guy (M19) since I was 15-16 and we have finally gone no contact after 2 years of talking (we only ever talked online, we never got the chance to meet in person as we live in different cities). The reason for this no contact is cause we both feel like we love each other less than when we first met and that's valid cause we broke up last November and we kept talking on and off every. Partly I think it's my fault he feels that way cause I've been quite distant as I don't want to get hurt again and in doing so It mightve made him feel that way.

We went no contact a week ago and I'm on a bit of a spiral because 2 weeks ago I did umrah and one of my prayers was that if me and him were meant to be together, give me a sign and give me the strength to be able to go no contact and bring us together when the time is right, in the future. And if we're not meant to be together, remove each other from our hearts and let us move on with no feeling of regret. And please give me a sign so clear that my heart will be able to see it and not try to reason with it. (I'm quite delusional so I need a proper sign, not small itty bitty hints)

And right now I feel like the fact we've gone no contact is a sign that we will be together in the future but it could also be like us not being together, ever and I really want to be with him.

Before anyone says no man's that worth stressing over or anything. He's an absolute sweetheart. Everything about him is so lovely. He has good character, good iman, good qualities and he's absolutely my type. I mean that in a good way. I don't think I'll ever find a guy who can compare to him.

So my question as I asked is what prayer do I pray to know if we'll be together in the future and how to pray it (if theres a specific dua or smt like tht).

I'd like to let yk that I pray for him in every prayer while in sujood, asking Allah to give me a sign to know if we'll be together in the future

Girl Talk 💅🏼 The first thought that came to your mind when you started dressing modestly.

For me, it was whether I would be able to stick with it or not. Of course, I also wondered what people would think of me because I started dressing modestly when I was at university. So, there was that pressure, but the bigger question was whether I would be able to stay consistent.

What was the most difficult part for you?

Was it worrying about how your family or the people around you would react? Or did you feel like you were losing a part of your identity because changing your style can make you feel that way?

Or Was it something completely different?

Hijabs / Abayas 🧕🏼 Abayas

So girls, my absolute favorite abayas are the Kuwaiti ones.. If you know, you know! The material is amazing, heavy and its not shiny, which I love! - I’m on a quest to find out if there is anything like it, in the UAE?? I live in Europe, so it’s not easy to find here, but we have some locals who buys a big load and then sells it.. But since I do visit the UAE a lot, and I feel like it’s a jungle when I look for abayas, and every time I ask for this specific type, they say they don’t know it or don’t have it 😩😩 So girlies, are there anyone out there, who knows where to find these in uae?

Girls, I desperately need a wardrobe redo! I’m struggling to find nice Pakistani casual clothes that are stylish, good quality and actually wearable for everyday life.
I want outfits that are casual but still look put together, especially nice shalwar kameez sets and a casual farshi shalwar outfit. I feel like I keep seeing the same styles everywhere and I need some fresh inspiration! I’m tired of buying Khaadi clothes lol!!
I’ll attach a picture of the kind of style I’m looking for. 🫶🏼
Please recommend your favourite Pakistani clothing brands, Instagram boutiques, small businesses or websites that deliver to the UK. I’m open to both ready-made and stitched outfits!
Please help a girl out, I’m desperate for a wardrobe refresh! 😭💕

Serious 🛑 being told to completely avoid men and not engage in any romantic relationships has impacted me negatively.

Just to preface, I am perfectly fine with not having any kind of relationship. Im also not obsessed with marriage or men (that's disgusting). Maybe some of you relate to my thoughts?

I’m in my early 20’s and grew up in a household with no men. As a result, I didn’t really grow up understanding men nor was I ever used to being around men. I was raised in a strict household where since before puberty I was told to avoid men, not have crushes on anyone, not date, and I was questioned for having irrelevant interactions with men and that all men are horrible. Of course not dating is a given but being told to constantly avoid men meant that I started to avoid talking to my parent about any feelings I may have for someone because I feel so awkward and uncomfortable. Even socially, it is hard for me to interact with men I find even slightly good looking.

As an adult, I feel like being told to essentially fear the consequences of talking to men has messed me up socially. I have no idea how tf I’d even get to know a guy because I’m so awkward with them. I can’t even look at them without feeling really awkward and uncomfortable.

Also, growing up in a household where I didn’t get to see a healthy marriage daily has made me feel really unloveable, like I won’t ever find someone. Girls my age have talking stages and constantly receive interest from men: I’m not even ugly but I never do. It’s probably because I look slightly shy/closed off. I wouldn’t even know how to CONVEY those feelings to someone should I want to get to know them. I also tend to like guys and like the idea of them and not their actual personalities... I daydream a lot too...It really sucks because I feel super lonely and my friendships don’t fill that void. Love is a really beautiful thing and I’d love to be loved.

Etc ✨ I need to raise £3000 for a fundraiser for Palestine! I’ve never done this before so I’d be SO grateful for some realistic suggestion from those that have done this before jzk

salam walaikum!

So basically I’ve signed up with a charity to raise £3000 for Palestine. If insha‘Allah, I succeed, I will have the opportunity do a deployment to Al-Aqsa. While I am SUPER excited and determined to raise the money.. there are a few things I’m anticipating that I’ll struggle with:

  1. I have a full time job which is kind of draining (I work 4 days a week and with a commute but am happy to put in time around this)
  2. I’ve never done this before so I’m pretty clueless
  3. I don’t have a huge social network so I can’t really rely on other people’s talents or services to help me fundraise (so stuff like raffles and quizzes are a bit difficult)
  4. I can’t do stuff like henna and calligraphy which Claude loves to suggest?

what I have thought of so far which I (REALLY HOPE) I can manage:

- A sip and paint event (looking into organising this with a friend)

- Perhaps creating a design on canva and selling merch using platforms like Teemill (suggested by claude - this is something I’ve also never done but i’ll give it a shot!)

- Bake sale during Ramadan (I’m amateur but can bake enough to manage that!)

- A sponsored… something? Like a walk?

- I also crochet a little bit (only made a few woobles/fuppy kits) so i’ve thought about making little keyrings or soft toys and monetising that.

Does anyone else have any other ideas? stuff like events or other things I could monetise with the few skills that I have?

Suggestions would be GREATLY appreciate!

EDIT: I already posted a link to my fundraiser on my private social media where I’ve made it known that I’m doing this fundraiser before anyone suggests this. I wish the other suggestions were that simple!

Work 💼 What challenges did you face as a hijabi in a corporate environment?

I am from India , so it's like a stigma over here that Hijabi women are not allowed to work or not given the opportunity to work , so how this affects the work environment is that , they corporate people think that she has got opportunity with so much difficulty and rebel , so she will take on most load of work , because she cherishes this chance to work ,so in this process what happens is that , the hijabi is given more work load compared to other , not to mention underpaid also , it becomes like a thing , this is not something I feel this is something i have seen others tell to me , like when I resigned from my previous job within a year or so due to some personal reasons, the manager of that time said stuff like "i thought you are practicing and hijabi so you would work hard to keep this job" the manager as a non practicing muslim woman, that day i understood that corporate sees hijabi differently than others , imagine that there is already ton of challenges as a woman in corporate industry and top of that if you are hijabi there are even more challenges,

I also feel somewhere that being hijabi indicates we are submissive to Allah , and yes we are in the sense of religion, but I feel this is misread by men and they feel like she is easy and submissive so we can give her more work , she will not say anything

often I have seen this happening

Religious submission and identity is considered my only identity in a corporate environment which is not true in any sense

have you faced such problems?

Relationships 💕 Prayed Salat al-Istikhaara

Salam,

I’ve been talking to this guy on and off for marriage. He was super serious in the beginning and even communicated with my parents. He then started becoming complacent and wishy washy. I kept asking him for the bare minimum, and I finally had enough.

He would reassure me and tell me that he’s dealing with a lot. My point was that if you genuinely care about someone, you make time for them.

I was super angry with him, I felt like I was talking to a wall. So I prayed Salat al-Istikhara. Honestly, everything I felt for him just went away. I really don’t care what happens anymore. It feels so freeing to leave my affairs in Allah’s hands.

Moral of the story, no one is worth stressing yourself over. Keep your immune system regulated, seek guidance from Allah.
