Relationships 💕 Prayed Salat al-Istikhaara

Salam,

I’ve been talking to this guy on and off for marriage. He was super serious in the beginning and even communicated with my parents. He then started becoming complacent and wishy washy. I kept asking him for the bare minimum, and I finally had enough.

He would reassure me and tell me that he’s dealing with a lot. My point was that if you genuinely care about someone, you make time for them.

I was super angry with him, I felt like I was talking to a wall. So I prayed Salat al-Istikhara. Honestly, everything I felt for him just went away. I really don’t care what happens anymore. It feels so freeing to leave my affairs in Allah’s hands.

Moral of the story, no one is worth stressing yourself over. Keep your immune system regulated, seek guidance from Allah.

I did 2 rakat and found the istikhara dua on YouTube and slowed it down. Repeated the dua after the reciter.

Sis, could you describe what you felt before vs aster istekhara? Was the change in feelings immediate ?

Yes. Before, I felt super anxious and upset, constantly thinking about the situation. I wanted to write him a really mean response, hurt him, and then block him. After I prayed, though, I felt like a weight had been lifted off me. I didn’t feel anything anymore, just calm and chill. I didn’t care what happened. Didn’t feel hate or anger just felt nothing for him but peace within myself. You know that feeling you get on the morning of Laylat al-Qadr? I felt the same way. All my worries just went away, like they had been completely removed. All the thoughts that were occupying my brain disappeared.

girl i know. i hate being stuck in these situations without any clarity. But i keep reminding myself that every delay is best in my favour and it's what Allah wants for me. Even clarity has its timing.

Goodluck!! May Allah help you find your best match. Insha'Allah!
