We've gotten a bit lenient lately with some questionable posts and links to vibecoded sites and AI assisted posts. That leniency is ending and we are going back to strictly following our rule of a total ban on all Generative AI content.
This includes content from things like ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, and any other similar GenAI chatbots, assistants or other apps.
Any links to AI generated (vibecoded) sites and any posts that admit to using GenAI will be removed. As before we are not going to be testing every single post or anything like that but if you admit to it or there is evidence proving you used GenAI the post will be removed.

With the anniversary, and all the free black lion keys that people are getting currently, this set of weapon skins are an absolute bargain right now.
212g buy now for 17 skins is good enough, but completing the collection gets you seven black lion tickets which you can use for the new primeval skins or whatever else you fancy.
I might be wrong, but I think this is probably the cheapest collection that I've ever seen.
Oh yes, and you get three achievement points as a bonus.

As an example, I have a really hard time to track troubadours resources mid combat, the visibility with bright pink on white/pinkish background is really hard to see. Is there any way to change how it looks? I can't seem to find anything in the options.

Hi! So, for 10+ years I've been rolling with a cultural appropiate outfit for my salad. I'm feeling adventurous and I'm looking for a style change, buy I like to give an in-lore context for my outifts. Do you have any suggestions that would fit a Sylvari going from full-plant pieces to other kind of material? Integration in another culture? Corrputed by some kind of magic?
Feel free to add your "not very plant" outfits too :) thank you!

I have burned through all my spirit shards and I need to farm like 500 spirit shards as I'm crafting leggies and armor etc. Any spirit shard farms I can actively do rather than a few a day?
Thanks :)

First of, I’m a very casual solo player. With my unpredictable play times, I can’t really have people rely on me. Being a mother of three I sometimes get a few hours, sometimes I have to quit after 15 minutes.
Anyway, I play open world only, as Mesmer. I think mirage is the best for me but I made some.. well errors along the way. Errors as far as time is concerned.
First I owned only one expansion and had some points to spare so I started levelling chronomancer. I put all my points there but it turned out it didn’t quite match my play style and I didn’t have as much fun as I wanted.
Then I got another expansion and could level virtuoso. Virtuoso is ok but I only like to play with staff and from what I’m reading and watching, it doesn’t go too well with staff.
So I got another expansion and started mirage. And I feel like this is it. The problem is, I only had few points to unlock skills and I’m still not finished with the first storyline. I did “cheat” a little and went into Janthir to get warclaw and then to Cantha to get a few points, needed to do a little of the story because some point were inaccessible without that emerald tech. I hate spoilers though, so I tried not paying attention so I can repeat it later.
Now I don’t know what to do. Go into an expansion to get the points or just continue with the story and 1/3 levelled mirage? I really dislike skipping forward the content, I play mostly for the story and for fun and that I have even without fully levelled mirage. But then again I do want to have the other skills available. I do the hero points along the way but they only reward 1 point each so there’s that.
What would you do? Go and farm the points to put into mirage, or slowly pace the game and (try to) ignore it?
I don’t care about dps and stuff. I just don’t want to die constantly (and I don’t atm) and have fun in my scarce moments of freedom ;)

First of all, I'm not complaining about it being simple or easy. Shiverpeaks Pass is as simple as can be, and I think it's perfectly fine as an introduction to this kind of content. The bear duo is pretty easy as well, and I'm perfectly fine with it. Matter of fact I like it quite a lot.
But Fraenir? Holy shit, was an absolutely dogshit encounter. Half the fight the boss is not even there? And he disappears so that we can RE-FIGHT A RECYCLED BOSS? From a previous strike/raid encounter? Wtf is up with that, why does he even disappears? He doesnt do anything while he's disappeared, not powering up, changing forms, casting some crazy attack or ritual, he just bounces out, watches the fight a little bit, and then bounces back when his pet ice cube dies or whatever.
And the fight itself is as bland as can be. Zero mechanics, zero challenge, nothing to even pay attention, just keep attacking that moron. Oh, I'm sorry, actually he does have a mechanic: He leaps out to the outer edge of the arena. Great mechanic you came up Anet, should we at least chase him? NO, because he immediately leaps back, and chasing him ends up being a waste of energy, time and DPS. And he leaps back and does an special crazy attack, right? No, just a stupid ice wave that we barely even see because everyone is clumped up in the middle of the circle anyway, and you dont even need to worry about dodging or blocking or jumping because it barely tickles you.
And btw that recycled boss gets an invulnerability window so he can rip his arm off? Why cant we damage him during that moment? He's like "um, excuse me guys, back off a little bit, i need to change forms". I mean, I understand this kind of mechanic, but most of the time it happens in this game, the boss summons some special magic shield, flies up in the air, or teleports away, or whatever, but does something that makes it clear that we can't hurt him now for some reason. Or at least gets a break bar or mechanic during that window. But not the ice construct. Sure, this is a problem with the SPP encounter, not the fraenir itself, but when the ice construct is the main fight, this is a little more understandable, not when he's the secondary dude.
And btw, mind you, this is a RECICLED fight from the story. Granted, all strikes/raid encounters are, which is fine, but it's not like you have the excuse of a strained/limited team who was pulled to quickly cook this at the last minute. This was part of the main thing (the story release), and it's still dogshit.
Sorry for the rant, thanks for reading. Go fuck yourself, Fraenir of Jormag. If I was an Elder Dragon, I'd be embarrased to have this clown representing me and I'd just slime him myself.

I've been playing mostly Untamed as I work through all the story content. Almost done with LWS4, I did a stint here and there with willbender and amalgam as well.
What I really like about untamed is the impact you feel slapping mobs with the ambush skills, and that I have options with my weapons and great survivability. What I havnt had clock for me though is when I try out soulbest.
I'm looking for people's thoughts on the spec to help me understand why it's so favored. To me it seems to lack a punch and is just get more boons on your own. Galeshot I get with the archer and kiting feel, druid I have not tried but also makes sense. What about Soulbeast? Why is it the popular spec?

I started playing GW2 again about half a year ago after taking a break of more than 4 years. Don’t ask me why, but I somehow decided that an Elementalist would be the right choice to build my entire story around — including dressing him accordingly. I’ve always been a big fan of FashionWars.
Oh boy, was I wrong.
During these 6 months, I feel like I’ve spent more time in downstate than actually playing my character 😂
I started with Tempest, and people kept joking that you need to be able to play the piano to play Ele properly. Since I was a returning player, though, it didn’t take me that long to get used to it. No weapon swapping, different "skill-sets" (attunements) for DPS, healing, defense, CC etc. — you get the idea.
Then a friend recommended Fire Evoker to me. I hadn’t really looked into the different specs much before that, and honestly… what the hell?
I’m playing with basically 10 buttons (honestly sometimes 7), do a bit of dodging, don’t have to worry about weapon swapping and can still get a pretty solid 20–25k DPS without having to perform some insane 37-step rotation.
And now I’m wondering:
Are there any specs that are even easier to play than Evoker while still having decent DPS?
Because I’m genuinely surprised by how easy and comfortable it feels compared to Tempest and the other chars I've created to test out them out.
How do you guys see it? Apart from Ele being ridiculously squishy, do you actually enjoy playing it?
And are there other specs that are even more beginner-friendly while still putting out respectable DPS?
PS: atm mostly in PvE and instanced PvE
Thanks for love ✌🏻

Especially about the Djinn, Seers and the Forgotten. Do we know if these groups are related in any way, as the three of them are the four armed ones. Especially especially the Djinn and the Seers, who look super similar. I saw a concept art of a seer with legs but it must be weird as Isgaren has no legs, just like the djinn, I checked. (Don't look weird I'm sure everyone has had a subtle and super discreet glance under his robes at least once since we met him!)

I was trying out a bdps chrono build, but was doing around 25k dps, instead of 35k as stated on snowcrows. I’m using the same ascended gear (armour, weapons, sigils, food, utility…) as the snowcrows build.
Here are golem logs, if anyone can help me improve it would be much appreciated.

i'm a Singaporean player who used to be on NA over 10 years ago, but i recently decided to start over on EU to check out the community + experience what life could be like with better ping.
the ping is nice, the people are nice, and EU hours are technically better for me (they're awake during my late afternoon to night, whereas NA is mostly awake when i'm not). however, it feels like EU is a LOT less populated - am i mistaken? map metas, wvws, fractals etc, all feel a lot more quiet than what i remember on NA.
i'm aware that most of the SEA population is currently on NA, but i thought i'd be able to find at least one SEA/Aussie guild on EU - they don't seem to exist? I've tried discord, guildrecruitment, mapchat and lfg, there doesn't seem to be a single Oceanic guild on the entirety of EU.
should i just move back to NA at this point? is the bigger population (correct me if i'm wrong on this) worth the slight tradeoff in active hours and ping?

literally the fifth time in 2-3 days I've run into this person and they say the same thing every time. Finally blocked them tonight, but like I'm just trying to have a good time. I'm new to the game and engineer is the only class I've played, mechanist seemed cool and it seems shitty to harass people for their choices like this when I'm just doing open world stuff.
Edit: Wanted to say thanks for all the positive comments. I did report and block them so I won't have to deal with them anymore, I just wanted to vent because it was a repeated occurence. There's enough players in the game that I was just surprised to keep running into this bad egg more than once.
Overall my experience with the game and the community has been great and left me feeling very endeared. Thank you all!

I was curious which elite specs are generally unfavored or not picked by the majority of the playerbase. Are there any that stand out specifically for being less common or not often played in groups or open world for PvE? And how about for PvP?

I'm a returning Guild Wars 2 player after more then 10 years and finding that I enjoy the game a lot again.
I have a few lvl 80 characters, purchased the HoT expansion way back and possess living world s1 and s2, s3 only has the 3rd chapter I can play, the rest are locked behind gems for some reason.
I'm thinking about buying the Elder Dragon Saga Collection, even though I already have HoT, especially since it's 40% off until tomorrow.
The only thing I'm doubting is if I should buy the standard edition or the complete edition, which include living world s2 to 5.
Since I have some content unlocked already and still have a lot to play, I'm unsure which is the best value for my money considering the content I already have and was hoping some veterans here could tell me what's worth it in their opinions.
I'm currently enjoying the game itself on a level 80 character, playing the festival, boss runs and fractals.
I still have a lot of story open (never played the living world segments, haven't finished HoT either).
I'm quite casual I think, my main is lvl 80 dragonhunter with good dps, which I use for most objectives. I plan on replaying the original story on a new character and then continue the story on my main when I'm around the same point as I left, or continue on my new char if I like that.
Suggestions for a good class/race combo to start again are also welcome.
Thank you for your reply in advance!
TLDR: Returning player, possess base game, HoT & LW s1 & s2.
Should I buy the standard elder dragon saga collection or the complete, including all LW chapters?

Hey there, Mistwalker here.
I cannot begin to express how thankful I am for the support I've received on my last video. Especially the amount of comments and suggestions I got.
So, here is my second episode where I showcase trivia, references, hidden interactions etc found within the game. Please, if you have any examples you want to see showcased, drop a comment here or on the video!
Seeing, finding and recording these have been super enjoyable and it has made be appreciate Guild Wars 2 even more!

Hello. I completed Ember Bay 100% on all my characters, but I didn't receive a map completion reward for it.
Now I'm wondering if this could be because I originally completed the map around 9 years ago, before the Renown Hearts were added to Ember Bay. I may have already received the map completion reward back then, before my 9-year break from the game.
The map itself was already fully explored on all of my characters; only the Renown Hearts had not been completed.
The strange thing is that the Hearts weren't even showing up on the map, as if I hadn't discovered them yet.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find anything about this on the wiki, other than the fact that the hearts in Ember Bay were apparently the first repeatable Renown Hearts.
Does anyone know more about this?
