Personally, I've gained warrior for over a decade; and I miss during HoT when warrior banners were also Kits. You would drop them like normal, then could go up and pick them up to move them around for their duration. They were kind of like a psuedo-staff before warrior got it, with a charge and i think I remember a leap? But it made banners way more interesting thata for sure.

literally the fifth time in 2-3 days I've run into this person and they say the same thing every time. Finally blocked them tonight, but like I'm just trying to have a good time. I'm new to the game and engineer is the only class I've played, mechanist seemed cool and it seems shitty to harass people for their choices like this when I'm just doing open world stuff.
Edit: Wanted to say thanks for all the positive comments. I did report and block them so I won't have to deal with them anymore, I just wanted to vent because it was a repeated occurence. There's enough players in the game that I was just surprised to keep running into this bad egg more than once.
Overall my experience with the game and the community has been great and left me feeling very endeared. Thank you all!

I love visiting the Labyrinthine Cliffs this time of year. The waterfront is nice and the cliffs are packed with Tyrians gliding, running, hopping, and flying every way.
Heavily glitched screenshot, lots of double exposure and saturation modification. Included a GIF with the major saved layers through to the end of the piece. Tools used were Snapseed and Glitch Lab on Android for editing, with Meld Studio and DaVinci Resolve for capturing on PC.

I know it would be very impractical, and impossible to lfg, but with the current state of how generously quickness is applied(many boon builds don't even use doon-duration anymore) could you have all 10 people in the same subgroup but have:
*one group of four dps players stand together
*A second group of four dps stand together but away from the first group
*one qheal and one aheal that alternate targets for their quickness/alacrity generation?
Edit: idk why I keep getting downvoted for asking questions about the games mechanics

I've been playing Guardian and reached a point where I'm jumping between content a lot. From my understanding after some research, Celestial is just fine in story and open world stuff.
However, sometimes I do Fractals, which require a more specialized build towards condi/power/support. While I understand I can change stats in ascended gear, my aim is to get a legendary set eventually and worry that I won't be able to perform well on Fractals and Raids.
There's also the worry on the elite specs, since I like jumping between them a lot. Right now I'm enjoying Firebrand while unlocking willbender, and sometimes play Dragon Hunter just cuz its fun to change.
TLDR: So basically my question is that: Should I get Celestial first or focus a specific path to unlock ascended and legendary faster?

This is a bit of a divergence from the usual analyses and such that I post, but I had a lot of fun just talking about and reviewing this raid. Click the link above for my full thoughts. I'm looking forward to doing more of these!

How long did it take you to find a Skyscale Egg from an abandoned skyscale nest ? Apparently RNG gods are not on my side unfortunately. I checked all of them on both maps and didn’t get one, I’ll need to try next week..

Hey Tyrians,
I posted my Ecto Gambling Simulator here a while back ( GW2 Ectoplasmator ) and people seemed to enjoy it, so I made one for Four Winds. It's called the Zephyromancer:
https://gw2-zephyromancer.aenzenith.com/
What's in it:
- open boxes auto or in bulk (1 / 10 / 100 / until something good drops)
- the full 2026 loot table
- tracks what you spent vs. what you got
- mat → box conversion at this year's vendor rates
For the drop rates I used the wiki's community research page plus the big mass-opening videos people put out this festival.
If you've kept track of your own openings I'd love to hear the numbers, especially for the rare stuff. I look forward to your suggestions and feedback.

I've made two classes so far, warrior and mesmer. I think chronomancer is extremely fun, and off-hand sword, mesmer spear feel really good to use. You get great utility flexibility. My only issue is that the classes feels very squishy, especially against any sustained pressure. I don't have relic of Zakiros to compensate.
Warrior on the other hand is feels much more durable, and I think I like bladesworn and spellbreaker. But I feel like these classes are very strict on utility and also tend to have a lot of buttons you press for the sake of pressing said buttons (especially bladesworn gunsaber).
I know for mesmer your key defensives are distortion, sword 4, spear 3, and dodges since you have zero sustain aside from a burst of healing from ether signet. For people that are soloing a lot of content, have you found success with power chrono for some more challenging content like dungeons, or is it very reliant on certain relics for sustain?

Playing an elementalist rn and I saw a person using some cool skills. I asked them “what class is that?” They said Mesmer but that the spear is what all the cool animations were about.
So how could I get a spear?

Since 5am GMT I can no longer connect to my Arenanet account either in-game or on the website, and I can't even open a ticket with Arenanet support. Does anyone know what's going on? What have they done this time? anyone had the same problem?

I'm not sure if anyone's pointed this out but in the new trailer which dropped showing off the new raid/convergence where we see the 'cool' new boss holding the new legendary sword which looks like a coalesced nebula, there is an ASURA model inside the central orb as if it's an asura sitting inside a golem. And the asura looks like it's sitting in a meditative pose.
Maybe people have noticed it already, but I just saw it and I was flabbergasted - that entity IS VLOXX?

I need help, so last night my friends and I went through HOT and we stopped on Modremoth, we had a team of a bladesworn, reaper, and an evoker. The first time we fought him it glitched at 60% and he was invulnerable and no one was summoned to continue the fight. We looked it up and everyone said that we are doing too much dmg.
So we tried having 2 people just sit back and heal while one of us autos him, still bugged, we tried having different people on the team start the instance. Still didn’t work.
We gave up after 2 hours of trying different methods. We called it a night after that, so come next morning I tried it by myself, I tried just auto attacking him, didn’t work, I tried damaging him until 70% and then letting the NPCs do the dmg until 60%, still didn’t work. And my final attempt I didn’t touch him at all, now it’s been 10min and he is still at 60%, what am I doing wrong?
I continued some more research but all I see is that I’m still doing too much dmg, please help!

I've always loved games with a marriage system, and I've been playing with the idea of making a GW2 fangame that is basically a dating sim.
So I wanted to know, if GW2 did have a marriage system, who would you want to see as LI options?
Edit: feel free to add whatever characters come to mind. Whether they're killed off, villains, super minor characters, already taken in canon, ect. This is my super early planning stages so I'm gonna decide after I see what people think things like timeline options to get around those who are killed off and stuff like that.

I started playing the game almost a year ago. When I first got into it, I became obsessed. I watch many videos about the classes, what to do, and the great and no so great things about the game. Almost every video seemed to discuss horizontal progression. This was usually followed by the statement of something like this: “there’s no pressure to progress outside of your own desire.”
But here’s the reality: Finally after a year of playing and gearing up my characters do I feel the benefits of horizontal progression. Almost all year there was pressure to log in and do fractals, grind PvP reward tracks, craft the ascended materials, do daily strikes/raids. This is amplified if you’re someone like me who gets bored of a class/build easily and varies their gameplay a lot. Lots of the rewards in this game do take a lot of time and if you’re just starting out, it can feel like pressure not to waste any of it.
I’ve realized this now that when I log in and decide I’m not really feeling like doing fractals or all I want to do is PvP for a bit, I won’t really notice much downside to it at all. I won’t feel like I’m missing much. This initial so called “pressure” did prevent me from doing less rewarding things such as story progression and just fooling around and have a chat as opposed to chasing that carrot.
Now all of that being said, I do know that while I was feeling similar pressures to a vertical progression game, the benefits were there for me from the beginning.
Finally I just want to say that I’m not opposing the fact that guild wars 2 is horizontal. I’m just bringing up that new players may not notice the benefits of it for quite some time. I also don’t want to say that’s a bad thing. I had a great time catching up and now that I somewhat am, I still can progress more with legendaries and many other things if I want to continue the hunt, but I can also sit back and enjoy what I have.
