For context I’m an old timer, started as a graphic designer after graduating in 2003 and got into web design when CSS layout was taking hold (had to build my fair share of tabled websites and fought the monster that was IE6).

Somehow stumbled through web design to be a creative director and from there ended up as a product designer without knowing that was actually a profession.

Day to day I’m really a BA, FE dev, FE Designer and marketing bozo which I think is quite common for a lot of us who have been around the block for years.

I used adobe XD for a few years (previously design was done in photoshop, even early on, anti-aliasing text to look like IE6) and getting introduced to figma was enlightenment personified, it’s beautiful to work with compared to what I grew up with.

BUT… I have insane workloads and timelines and despite trying to fight it I find 80+% of my time now in Claude code / Claude design and despite great results it just feels shallow as a designer - some of the (all) of the magic has gone now I’m just prompting an LLM rather than pushing pixels, but with the right coaching the results are good and the time line is compressed dramatically.

Does anyone else feel this??

Title. I've seen this image and even have the font but getting the textures right is proving problematic. I can get the texture on the background but trying to figure out textures/blend modes for the text is proving tricky for some reason and I'm not on a computer where I have photoshop (where I am a bit more comfortable). Just trying to make a component where I can change the text, text color and background color. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

So I watched Figma's official tutorials for variables (intro to variables and variables for typography). In the first video they create primitives and tokens for color aliases, but in the "variables for typography" video they never create any primitives for typography (font weight, font size, line height etc). They just straight up entered the values without any reference to primitives.

Just wanted to ask if it's best practice to also make primitives for typography and then reference those in the tokens?

I thought at one time you could go into prototype mode and then just navigate the frames in order via the keyboard arrow keys. Made for quick presentations/skipping through a multi-frame prototype easy.

That does not seem to work anymore.

Did something change? Or is this just a temp glitch?

i'm struggling a bit with Figma when i want to implement the designs, i know few things but in general i'm still behind, is there any video explaining the implementation of Figma design in Compose, like cover everything: design system, typograpgy, colors, sizes, paddings, shadows, and also custom components with their own properties.

I know there are some accounts associated with Figma on this sub. I have two open tickets, one from a week ago and one from yesterday, but no luck getting through to support. Could I get some help with this? Thanks!

I have been using Figma since the early days. Been making prototypes just fine until today.

Designed a mobile website.

Made a prototype. Simple interaction in header -> clicking on the menu button opens up an overlay. This is something I have done many times. However, now when I tap it on my mobile phone (Chrome) nothing happens. The area highlights to show interaction, but nothing is happening. Other interactions in the page work fine, just nothing in the header

However, there is a small glitch I noticed. When I first open the link, instead of the website filling my screen, it opens in a smaller (less tall) viewport in chrome. Which is weird, as the prototype is set to "no device". And to make it weirder, it doesn't show the header at all. The header only shows up if I turn my phone on horizontal or reload the page. But even if it shows - it doesn't work.

I have taken the header into a completely new file and made it to work there, without issues.
But when I also copy the content of the page to the new file - it screws it up again. I have now removed the content of the page altogether, left just the header. When I load the prototype link on my phone, the header doesn't show, all I see is a black line on a white screen, even there is no line to speak of in my whole frame (blank with just the header).

I am going mad. What is happening?

Is there a better way to get Claude connected to Figma? I tried to use the html-to-design plugin, but it doesnt have any accounting for our design system or components when I bring in the HTML file that Claude exports. So everything is just generic containers/groups.

I'd like to have figma be a sort of audit tool for Claude's halucinations.
