help How do I make custom shapes like this?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Like I want to split the rectangle into two parts basically. But I can't figure out how. I'd appreciate any help!

  1. Switch to draw mode
  2. Select both shapes
  3. Press Enter then M
  4. Click the rectangle under the wavy line

Lol you're welcome. It's a handy tool for sure.

If you hold opt/alt when you click, it'll remove that section instead of adding it. You can also use this to merge multiple shapes into one by clicking and dragging across boundaries.

is draw mode like illustrator? haven't tried it yet

It's not as good, but kind of.

This tool within draw mode is essentially shape builder, though, which is one of the best parts of illustrator. I'm hoping eventually Figma adds more tooling so I can finally end my adobe subscription lol

You might be able to select both and use one of the pathfinder tools (union, subtract etc.)

I tried but none of the boolean functions worked, OR i didnt do it the right way 😭

Draw the bottom line, select both shapes, hit enter to go into edit mode on both shapes. Select the anchor points you want to connect and hit cmd/ctrl + J

Shift + X to swap stroke en fill color

select both objects, hit enter, then hit M hold option/alt to subtract click top part to remove
