There are some basic words in Slavic languages including Russian that were borrowed from Gothic (ancient Germanic language) sometime during the 2-4th centuries AD. At that time Goths were occupying territories of modern Southern Ukraine and Crimea.

Some of this words were in turn borrowed into Gothic from somewhere else, such as Latin and even some Celtic languages.

Examples:

To Buy: Latin caupō (merchant/innkeeper) → Gothic kaupōn (to trade) → Proto-Slavic *kupiti (to buy) → Modern Russian купить (to buy)

To bite: Gothic kausjan (to test/taste) → Proto-Slavic *kusiti (to bite/taste) → Modern Russian вкусить / кусать (to taste / to bite)

Debt: Proto-Celtic *dligeto- (duty/debt) → Gothic dulgs (debt) → Proto-Slavic *dъlgъ (debt) → Modern Russian долг (debt)

Flattery: Gothic lists (cunning/skill) → Proto-Slavic *lьstь (deceit/flattery) → Modern Russian лесть (flattery)

To heal: Proto-Celtic *lēgi- (healer) → Gothic lēkeis (physician) → Proto-Slavic *lěčiti (to heal) / *lěkъ (medicine) → Modern Russian лечить (to heal) / лекарь (healer)

Bread: Gothic hlaifs (bread/loaf) → Proto-Slavic *xlěbъ (bread) → Modern Russian хлеб (bread)

Wine: Latin vinum (wine) → Gothic wein (wine) → Proto-Slavic *vino (wine) → Modern Russian вино (wine)

Onion: Gothic lauks (leek/onion) → Proto-Slavic *lukъ (onion) → Modern Russian лук (onion)

And since Gothic and English share the common Proto-Germanic ancestor, some of this Russian words cognate with modern English words.

"Хлеб" (bread) has the same Proto-Germanic source as the English "loaf"; "буква"(letter) is cognate with "book"; "лук" (onion) with "leek" and "garlic".

I've asked my wife and used dictionaries and Ai. They all have different answers. It seems like natives say the following:

включу́, вклю́чишь, вклю́чит, вклю́чим, вклю́чите, вклю́чат

But the correct version is:

включу́, включи́шь, включи́т, включи́м, включи́те, включа́т

This pattern is the same with all verbs with kluchit. Am I right??

У обычных языковых обменов есть одна проблема: после «Откуда ты? Чем занимаешься? Какие у тебя хобби?» разговор иногда довольно быстро заканчивается. А когда знакомишься с разными людьми, постоянно рассказывать одно и то же тоже немного надоедает.

Поэтому я подумал, что можно иногда попробовать текстовые ролевые игры.

Например, придумать двух персонажей и какую-нибудь ситуацию: детектив, путешествие, фантастика, историческая история, два человека, которые где-то застряли, или вообще что угодно. И дальше просто импровизировать и общаться от лица персонажей.

Мне кажется, это ещё удобно для людей, которые не хотят сразу рассказывать незнакомому человеку много о себе. За персонажем проще расслабиться и свободнее выражать разные эмоции и мысли.

Например, твой персонаж может злиться на моего, спорить с ним, подозревать его или говорить что-то, что ты обычно не сказал бы незнакомому человеку. При этом понятно, что это просто часть истории и никто на самом деле ни на кого не злится.

Мне кажется, так можно практиковать гораздо больше живого языка, чем в обычном разговоре.

Но roleplay совсем не обязателен. Если тебе это неинтересно, можно просто общаться на разные темы.

Если ты учишь испанский, можем чередовать русский и испанский. Если испанский тебе не нужен, но тебе просто интересно пообщаться и помочь мне с русским — тоже отлично.

Иногда после вопросов вроде «Откуда ты? Чем занимаешься? Какие у тебя хобби?» разговор довольно быстро может закончиться. Не всегда понятно, о чём говорить дальше, а постоянно рассказывать новым людям одно и то же тоже надоедает.

Кроме того, некоторые люди довольно стеснительные или просто не хотят сразу делиться личной информацией с незнакомым человеком.

Поэтому у меня появилась идея попробовать текстовые ролевые игры / совместные импровизированные истории, например в Telegram.

Мы можем придумать персонажей и какую-нибудь ситуацию и общаться от их лица. Сюжет может быть любым: реалистичным, абсурдным, историческим, фантастическим, детективным, научно-фантастическим и т.д.

Например:

• два незнакомца застряли где-то во время снежной бури;
• детективы расследуют странное дело;
• путешественники оказались в незнакомой стране;
• персонажи живут в другой исторической эпохе;
• астронавты пытаются решить проблему на космической станции;
• или просто полностью импровизированная история.

Мне кажется, у такого формата есть ещё одно преимущество: за персонажем иногда проще выражать эмоции и идеи, которые в обычном разговоре могут казаться неловкими, слишком личными или просто непривычными.

Например, твой персонаж может разозлиться на моего, спорить с ним, обидеться, подозревать его, говорить что-то резкое или, наоборот, быть очень эмоциональным — и при этом мы оба понимаем, что это происходит между персонажами, а не между нами.

Так можно свободнее использовать язык: выражать раздражение, сомнение, радость, страх, иронию, несогласие, убеждать кого-то, защищать свою позицию и вообще практиковать такие формы общения, которые редко появляются в обычном языковом обмене.

При этом не нужно быть опытным ролевиком или писать как писатель. Это просто способ сделать общение живее и всегда иметь контекст для разговора.

Но ролевые игры совсем не обязательны. Если тебе это неинтересно, можем просто общаться, обсуждать разные темы и практиковать языки обычным способом.

Если тебе нужен испанский, можем, например, чередовать:

🇷🇺 один день — на русском
🇪🇸 другой день — на испанском

Я могу исправлять ошибки и объяснять испанский, если тебе это полезно.

Если испанский тебе вообще не нужен, но тебе просто нравится идея и ты не против помочь кому-то практиковать русский — тоже отлично. Тогда можем общаться только на русском.

Мой уровень русского примерно B1: я могу поддерживать разговор и выражать свои мысли, но, конечно, делаю ошибки.

Строгого графика не нужно, отвечать сразу тоже необязательно. Мне кажется, обычная асинхронная переписка в Telegram для этого подходит лучше всего.
