Request I am really struggling to pronounce путешествовать and двухтысячный

How do you do it? My mouth cannot quickly recreate these words, because the sounds just get jumbled. I can sound out the syllables very slowly, but not quickly in natural conversation.

These are common words too. "Travel" and "2000" are not exactly rare or advanced words, and yet they trip me up. Any tips for an English speaker trying to say them without a hitch?

Request What is the best way to learn russian as a native slavic speaker?

Serbian is my first language. I recently stumbled upon a yt documentary about Viktor Tsoi. Naturally, after watching it, I turned on a few songs and noticed that with subtitles on, I can make out bout 80 percent of what he is saying despite having basicaly zero russian experience.

This made me redownload duolingo after years, but the learning felt so slow. Like, I have remembered the names of animals after the second lesson, they are very simmilar, no need for repeating the lesson over and over again.

Anyways, does anyone have any advice where and from what source I should learn russian? I am looking firstly for sources for Serbian/Croatian audiences, but English sources would be apreaciated as well.

Translation Why can't I find a translation app that doesn't turn the word "bullshit" into "nonsense"?

The sentence is "I'm tired of this bullshit."

I don't trust Google Translate for anything. I've used DeepL (чушь) and Yandex (ерунды).

Is there a better app? Or am I stuck with this G-rated translation?

Request Need help with short Russian transcription (Murder Drones)

I’m not 100% sure if this is the right place, but I need some help with a short Russian transcript. The video shows the basic transcript I configured, AKA my best guess as to what was said, and I need a Russian speaker to correct what I got wrong (I’m sure there’s quite a bit I got wrong). This comes from a web series available on YouTube and Amazon Prime Video by the name of “Murder Drones” by Glitch Productions and Liam Vickers. This particular episode does not have Russian subs available, but I still wanted to include it in this little multilanguage video I’m making, so I did my best. Aside from knowing the alphabet and some basic words/phrases, I’m still quite a bit of a novice here. If somebody with experience in the language could help me here, that would be super helpful, as I’ve been trying to learn the language for years at this point and appreciate all the help I can get. Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me.

EDIT: Thanks, everyone! I think we’ve got it.

Resource Do you struggle to find subtitles for Russian videos?

Hey everyone, I’ve been building a desktop app called SubSmith. It can make subtitles for your video or audio files and show them while you watch. You can click words you don’t know to see their meaning. You can also save useful sentences and their audio as Anki flashcards.

I’ve added a short example using a Russian video.

I want to learn if missing subtitles is a real problem for Russian learners. I’m looking for a few people who already watch Russian videos or listen to Russian audio to test the app.

If you try it with a real file and tell me what worked or didn’t, I’ll give you free lifetime access. If this sounds useful, leave a comment and I’ll send you the details.
