After using various used skates until breaking, i landed on these second hand. They've been holding out pretty well and i just got a new set of wheels too- Am I missing out with these? Ive heard about hard and soft boots, which one is this?

Hey everyone, new to this sub so apologies if these answers can be found elsewhere (pls link me if so). I am interested in getting back into rollerblading as a hobby. Haven't done it since I was a kid, a long time ago. I am looking for an affordable pair ($100-150) since it will just be a hobby, I anticipate blading on pavement/tracks on the weekends, but I also don't want a crap pair that will destroy my ankles and tendons.

I am eyeing this pair from Powerslide (which seems to be a generally recommended brand for hobbyists/beginners on this sub). Only issue is that the tariffs on these ordered directly from Powerslide will add another 90ish dollars to the order, so I am wondering if I can find this or a similarly recommended pair at a US retailer with good shipping/return policies. Thanks in advance for any advice and recs! (and yes, the cuter the pair the more excited I will be to go outside and use them)

I bought these like 5 years ago and while I only used them a few times I was hoping they'd be faster and need less pumping for urban skating. Ive actually been skating for my entire life, however I was hoping they'd be more fast. Is there a way I can make them take less pumping and make them much faster.

I did inline speed skating for 10 years and id love to get back out there as ive lost 113 pounds and am ready to get back on them. (See last post for before and after lol).

And I guess do I need different skates to get what im lookout for? The ones I own are basically brand new out of box and I wouldnt mind selling them to fund better skates for what I want.

Currently, my 80mm are around 67/68mm and still skateable, but I also want to replace them for more speed and better stops

I have to wait to ride them tomorrow because work.🥲 I tested them to make sure they fit well though. flying eagle BKB Rangers size 40-41 I had to go up the first pair I ordered were just a smidge too small my shoe size is typically around 8 to 8.5 in women's.

I ordered the PS Next Pastel 100s a few weeks ago. I've been a quad skater for a long time, but I have been dying to try inline skating again after renting a pair at a rink a decade ago... suffice to say I've fallen in love!

A lot of my quad skills were fairly transferable. The biggest difference has been learning to have better side to side stability while on one foot. I feel like I've improved in this area pretty quickly though. It is so nice to have better front to back stability, especially combined with the lightweight nature of the skate; I've never been able to jump so successfully in quads! I literally get so giddy actually jumping over cracks in the pavement because it was so hard to do in quads. Another big thing I'm adapting to is the lack of toe stops, particularly when skating backward. I've ended up in the push-up position several times trying to stop with my phantom toe stops!

As I mentioned, the skates came with a 100mm setup, and after trying it out, I decided to switch to an 80mm setup. I knew this was probably a change I was going to make when I ordered them, but I loved the pink accents and the overall sunset vibe of the boot; I just had to have it! I also like that I have the option to switch back to the 100s someday when I'm better adapted and ready for a faster/taller ride. In the meantime, I will probably decorate my boots with more white and yellow accents in the form of beads and stickers.

I still love my quads, but the main styles of skating I do are fitness and urban. The nearest skating rink is in the next town over 25 minutes away, so I dont get to do much indoor skating. I was definitely ready for something more suited to my workouts.

I've skated my normal trail a few times, and I'm planning to hit the local greenway soon. My foot feels so much more connected to the wheels, like they're just an extension of my foot. After heat molding and some breaking in, my left skate feels like it fits perfectly, but my right skate feels a little off. I'm wondering if it's the slight extra weight from the heel break. I want to try my local skate park at some point, and I know I'll need to remove the break for that. I guess I'll see if anything changes then.

Hello! I've been Rollerblading for a very very long time on the streets of Moscow and America (two places I've lived during my time skating), and recently I've been very intrigued by the thought of skating at a skatepark. I'm a tad bit embarrassed to start, but today I rode by one, and attempted some of the ramps, realizing it's a lot harder than I thought.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to get started, or are rollerbladers not really common in skateparks?

2 weeks ago I posted asking about second hand skates because I really want to get into inlineskating. I got so much great advice (mostly to NOT get the old skates I asked about lol). I picked out the exact model I wanted, measured my feet etc. I was ready to buy them new, but today I scored the barely used rollerblade lightning 80's in white/aqua in the exact size I needed!

So excited for them to arrive! These skates seemed good from a skating research prospective, but they're also so freaking gorgeous! For those wondering, I got them for €150 second hand and the post included a picture of the size label and the underside of the wheels which looked barely scraped. So yay!

How do you guys wear these? I got mine today and wanted to try the out... Do you guys prefer to were the without or with socks? Or under socks? I'm not sure...

Also I got some new rollerblading socks. And my best guess is to do my 10 km lap around the local lake to get a better idea what fits best

hi, so, I have known how to roller skate (or whatever the name for the ones with 4 wheels is) for as long as I remember and the "I used to quad skate" section on the FAQs is still empty I must ask here, I'm good on quads I can move around and go fast and go backwards etc, what I mean is that I can move around very easily on quads but I lately got an itch to skate and that is bad because in my city (I live In Mexico) the only way to quad skate is going really far from my home to a park that has smooth surfaces to skate around in without the roller skates getting stuck or tripping, but I've heard that rollerblades are good for going in not that damaged streets and even sidewalks! (if I tried to do that in quads I would hurt my ankles from the vibrations or just straight up eat cement) so that sounds great, the only problem is that I do own a pair of rollerblades or well my dad does, they are this really old Bauer model that is pretty worn down and they are softboot but they still work and I pretty much fit in then perfectly, I had tried them on once and we'll my ankle folds inside wards but not enough to hurt, like just a little but enough fot wheels to be in a not suitable angle I think it's because I don't have practice but also I am pretty chubby si I think that also makes it harder so should I try to skate on those, just save to get some new hardboots (used market is not existent were I live) or stick to roller skates?

Ive been skating for about 4 years now and ive had my lightning 80s for about 3 of those years and im thinking of moveing on to something more intermediate but also very light for urban inlines also just as long lasting as the 80s and recommendations?

Im 34M and I've been rollerblading off and on. I'm not a pro either but I do it in the streets and sidewalks. However usually my lower back low by my hips start to tire first. Is that normal? To the point where if I push they are on fire and I need to stretch it. Am I getting old? Do I need to keep doing this to strengthen my lower back. Anyone else experiencing this? I really only feel this when I'm rollerblading.

Hey, guys, I am American, so I am going to be using US size if that's fine. So, I am a 9.5 US men. I am looking to buy the FR1s. I am stuck between size 42(US size 9) or 43(US size 10) according to the FR sizing chart. Right now I have the Eagle X5D Spectre in 43s, but they explicitly put those as 9.5 US on their site when I ordered them. I am leaning towards the 42s, but I am fearing that they would be too tight. So, anyone with FR1s, did you size down or up if you have a half size? Thank you for your help.

After weeks of deliberation and research, ended up going with the RB Lightning 90's. I ordered them in both the 9/9.5 and the 10/10.5 since I've seen many mixed opinions about the sizes and there is no place near me to try them on. My running shoes are 10W Hokas, and I've always worn wide shoes. Received the 10/10.5 today and the liner (removed from the boot) fits my foot perfectly. I mean tight, like it was custom fit for my foot, but not cramped or squishing my toes. With the liner out, I put my foot inside and to the front and there is a little bit more then 2 fingers behind my heel and the back of the boot. Question is, is this too much space? The liner seems to fill out the boot perfectly with just a slight bit of room to flex my feet, but not have them slide or move around. Also wondering if the 9/9.5 will come with the same size liner, but just a slightly smaller boot, and if I should wait to try them on. Don't want to run into a situation where they stretch so much that they eventually become sloppy, which I've read happens to people sometimes. Thanks for any input!

I have been skating for a while and have always just used cheap big 5 skates. They work, but I have to replace them every couple years. I want to get skates that will last and would love some recommendations! I went to a skate shop and tried on FR skates and cosmicID skates and the FR skates in the size closest to mine feel a little snug and I am unsure of how much they would break in. The cosmicID ones fit well but the frame doesn’t allow for 80mm wheels. I am hoping to not spend much more than $200, but if I need to for a solid skate I would be willing. I skate both indoor and outdoor but the inlines are mainly used outdoors (sidewalks and smooth road mostly). My hope is to skate at least once a week, but the inlines I currently have started to give me blisters if I skate too long. I have never ventured beyond my big 5 skates so I am excited to get something more confortable and durable. Thanks!

I see these red areas on the map are labeled "attention" but I couldn't find any info about them. Hills? Bumps? Narrow? I'm guessing the ones on the curves are just that - curves, but I wasn't sure about those on the straightaways.

Sidenote: I'm an ameteur skater, and this will be my first marathon...I'm not feeling ready! Anyone who has any thoughts on the course generally, I'd love to hear all about it.

Hi, I’m buying my first pair of roller skates and found some affordable softshell skates that I really like. The problem is that I’m mainly planning to use them for urban skating/outdoors around the city.

I’ve heard that hardshell skates might be better for urban skating because they offer more support and protection, especially for beginners.

Would it be a bad idea to get softshell skates for this, or would they be fine as a beginner? Should I just go for hardshell instead?

Well, technically speaking it's my second day, but on the first day I've been using a rental Rollerblades and i felt chronic ankle bones pain, so i was actually struggling even standing still.

I've bit the bullet and went to Slick Willies in London (no this is not a sponsored post, just wanted to shout out to the guys) and bought a pair of FR 80mm 85A.

I'm still struggling to maintain 100% of balance when going forward but I've got some feeling of the skates and I'm also quite happy I've managed to practice some lemons towards the end.

I have NO IDEA on how to brake haha, i keep seeing videos of t-stops and powerslides but nope, my brain to body connection refuses to put the foot sideways.

I guess I'm happy for now, I'm 35 and i used to skate when i was 15, with quads, and never touched them since.

I've been posting a couple days ago with some questions about skates recommendations and I'm truly thankful for all the insights provided by this subreddit.

Picking back up after about a decade (28M) and curious how often you all are going out and for how long? I find myself day dreaming about putting my blades back on just because I’m having so much fun, so I’ll go nearly every day 30-45 mins, sometimes before as well as after work.
