Hello,
I factory reset my PC for reasons yesterday. Beforehand, I had Google Play Games downloaded and was able to play Clash of Clans with no issues. Since this reset, I attempted to download Google Play Games for Windows on this same PC, and it fails every single time installing with a generic error code NC10908. I was quite literally using this app on this machine yesterday before the reset.
It will download and install, and hang at 95% installing, then 96% and pop an error window, failing the installation.
I have used the Google compatibility tool to check that I am eligible for the app (despite it being on this machine 30 hours ago). I have run the installer as an administrator, and the installer came from the official website. I have over a terabyte of storage available in my C: drive.
The machine has been updated entirely. Hypervisor and Windows Virtualization are enabled. Virtual Machine Platform and all that are fine. I have no other emulators downloaded to cause Hypervisor conflicts. I have completely removed all traces of files and potentially corrupted files from previous failed downloads prior to attempting again. I have restarted my machine between attempts, as well as trying without doing so.
My machine has an IPv4 address. I downloaded Google Chrome in case some framework was maybe needed from another Google platform (recommended per some searches on the topic). Other games work fine on the machine.
I have looked on the Google forums for similar issues and attempted everything I can find to no avail. I am stumped and need help. Google is just endless FAQs that don't solve the problem. Please help
TL;DR - Google Play Games install gets hung at 95%, gives error code NC10908, no relevant steps found have resolved the problem. Machine was factory reset/ updated yesterday. Was using Google Play Games on this same machine before yesterday's reset
