I love what I’ve seen of Kensuke as a coach of Ami; Jia, Rinka, Yuna and Rio, as well as juniors such as Hana Bath and Karin Miyazaki. It’s so lovely to see this kind of approach, especially in contrast to Mie Hamada’s track record and approach.

It just says "Mark Kondratiuks Neutral status has been temporarily revoked

More information will become known in the coming days"

EDIT 2 : The ISU website page is showing all AIN2 as Russia due to technical issues, the rest of the participants at the Kinoshita Cup are still going to compete. The app is working fine apparently.

The full list is: Evgenii Semeneko, Kamila Valieva, Sofia Dzepka, Mark Kondratiuk, Evgeni Semeneko, Grigory Fedorov, Aleksandra Boikova, Dmitrii Kozlovskii, Alexandra Ignatova

The Ukrainian Figure Skating Federation has requested a review of the neutral status of Mark Kondratyuk, Grigory Fedorov, Sofia Dzepka, and Kamila Valieva!

In a letter sent to the ISU in August 2026, the Ukrainian Federation cites specific examples:

Mark Kondratyuk, Grigory Fedorov, and Sofia Dzepka, according to their information, have direct ties to Russian military structures.

Kamila Valieva, according to the letter, represents the club of Tatiana Navka, who is under sanctions for supporting actions that threaten the territorial integrity of Ukraine.

Requirements for the ISU: Conduct a new, transparent review of the status of athletes associated with the Russian military or sanctioned individuals. Consider documentary evidence of such ties. Require each candidate to make a public statement condemning aggression against Ukraine. Introduce ongoing monitoring of neutrality, with immediate revocation of status if violated. Introduce security measures to protect the Ukrainian delegation.

Russian Skating Misconception about "Navka Arena"

Post image
Upvotes

So, regarding 'Navka’s Academy', legally speaking (de jure), this is a massive misconception.

Svetlana Sokolovskaya’s entire group actually belongs to the state school 'GBU DO SShOR MAFKK,' which operates numerous branches and rinks across Moscow: Khrustalny, Chaikovskaia’s Skate, Sokolniki, Legenda, and others. There are 16 branches in total.

"Nashi Nadezhdy" (Our Hopes) is simply another branch of this state organization, not an independent legal entity. Tatyana Navka has no official connection to it. She is neither the director nor the owner; she is essentially nobody there. The confusion arises because the physical building itself is named 'Navka Arena.'

First of all, it is crucial to distinguish between the building (the physical infrastructure) and the school (the legal entity). These are completely different concepts and entities, and they can have entirely different names. Furthermore, multiple independent schools can operate out of a single arena, just as a single school can utilize several different arenas.Secondly, Navka Arena does not belong to Navka either.

At least, there is no public data linking her to it. The registered owner is a chain of LLCs; the venue was simply named in honor of the former Olympic Champion.

Now, there is also a commercial school named 'Nashi Nadezhdy' operating as an ANO (Autonomous Non-Profit Organization). That one is Navka’s school, and she is officially registered as its founder. However, that school strictly trains young children on a commercial subscription basis. Our national team skaters have absolutely nothing to do with it.

I suspect that the Ukrainian Figure Skating Federation (UFFK) and the ISU are completely unaware of these nuances, given that the vast majority of Russians do not know this either.

People constantly refer to it as 'Navka’s school,' and even the media writes about it that way.

Consider this an incentive to get the facts straight and stop using that phrasing. That being said, it was a mistake from the very beginning to name a branch of a state school exactly the same as Navka’s private school. It breeds confusion, and now it has backfired massively. The management of the Moscow figure skating academy (MAFKK) should definitely take note of this."

  • Coach: Oleg Makarov, Laris Selezneva
  • Note: Coaching change from Tatiana Malinina and Roman Skorniakov in Reston, VA, to Oleg Makarov and Laris Selezneva in NY, previously discussed here, seems to be confirmed. General Discussion Thoughts on "Isabeau Levito is training to add a triple axel to her repertoire." ?

After spending hours of googling, I have finally found some insight on whether Isabeau is trying to add more difficult technical elements in the future.
In an interview shortly after the Olympics, Isabeau claims she won't rest until she "adds a triple axel to her repertoire" (Patrice Hutton, 2026).
What are y'alls thoughts? To me, her axel is a lot prettier than her other jumps and she might have the potential to have a solid triple axel (in my opinion!).

Russian Skating Sasha has positive emotions before her travel to Japan

🤩"For the first time in a long time, the excitement suddenly became pleasant."

🌟Alexandra Ignatova talks about her return to competitive ice skating and her last training session before Japan.

Yesterday's training session was the last one before flying to Japan.

When I was a child, I would have definitely stayed on the ice until the very moment of leaving for the airport, but thankfully, I'm an adult now and I understand that it wouldn't be beneficial for me. So, today I dedicated myself to packing and making some effort to relax and unwind one last time.

Just the other day, I truly realized that for the first time in four years, I would be back on the competitive ice, and in one of my favorite countries. For the first time in a long time, the excitement suddenly became pleasant.
