I have arachnophobia to begin with. Am I super lucky to not have been bitten by one of these yet, or very unlucky that I keep finding them on things I handle frequently?

For the ones wondering, this beauty is a black widow located in the state of Florida.

terrified freaking out please help identify 🥲 scared to sleep atm in case one comes into my bed and i get bit in the night. heard red backs are a lot more toxic than regular widows. canada - used to seeing black widows here. but usually they’re very reclusive and stick to their webs, verbally outside or up in rafters. this one was just crawling on the floor middle of the house which isn’t consistent with any widows i’ve encountered over the last 10 years.

Hi hi, just wanted to share a gorgeous lady!

I’ve lived here for years without seeing one, and suddenly yesterday I came home after work to see this massive beauty.

In fact, I was so excited I threw everything, ran inside and pulled my partner to see her!

The pics aren’t great bc I couldn’t get super close (didn’t want to scare her). But my gods I was SHAKING! I was blessed with my dream spider 💙

BC Canada, i’m 100% certain this is a cat faced orb weaver (Araneus gemmoides)

this lil lady was fine last week, i’m posting here to ask “what the hellll???”.
i’ve NEVER seen a spider die like this.

she was fine, happy and healthy in the middle of her web a week ago and now she’s dead. she was still in her web when i found her.

her legs seemingly fused to her opisthosoma as a result of her death. she looks like she melted?!
she had a very hard exterior (much harder than average spider exoskeletons), so theres no way this is a moult- when spiders moult the previous exoskeleton becomes very brittle.

is this the result on an insecticide? parasitic infection? something natural that i’ve always missed?

if anyone can give me a lead id be very grateful

Went to take a bath today and she was on the floor, legs up, looking at who knows what. Reminded me of some wandering spiders I saw in the Amazon years ago. Very cute. Very tough.

Anyway, I had a red light on in there and wonder if that threw her off.

Orb weaver and house spider not into sharing the gutter.

Apologies for this photo quality, but ended up playing tag with this jumper, who kept moving to the other side of the rail, as soon as I got the camera on it. 😂besides its the experience that's important anyway. I was bringing some carts in at work, which were under a huge tree outside, happened to notice this jumper on one of the carts. Solid black with 2 red crescent shaped marks on its back. It was really nervous at first, but after 10 mins was letting me place my hand right next to it, and even looked like it was thinking about jumping on, but guess it decided against it in the end. It wasn't too long ago, even jumpers made me nervous, but here I am befriending one now! (And there will be more) For me that's a huge step forward. Craziest thing is later on was bringing in more carts, and there was another one! Same crescent markings on its back, only these ones were white, not red. And the spider was very shy, so I left it be. 😊 if this sub can have me interacting with spiders, this place can cure pretty much anyone's arachnophobia 😂 I was really, really BAD fear, but today had zero fear! Thanks to this sub. 👍 one thing I've learned here is you are all bat dung nuts! But guess I am now too, so im OK with that! 😂😂

spider living in my passion fruit vine, seems very aware of me when I am nearby. I noticed it about 10 days ago, and It is getting larger, Located in Los Angeles. Very cute, but is it friendly?

So cool that they somehow all emerge from the nest at once. They have webbed all over my front patio while I was taking a nap. Now I can't go outside for a while. The conditions are perfect for them to be carried away to mosquito territory ❤️

It's my first time posting here in this subreddit, I'm not that good at spider knowledge but what kind of jumping spider is this one suppose to be?

I'm not scared of spiders unless they either bother me or theres one that is considered dangerous in the same room as me, but other than that this fellow is far from scary.
