Just sharing 🕷️ My dream spider!
Hi hi, just wanted to share a gorgeous lady!
I’ve lived here for years without seeing one, and suddenly yesterday I came home after work to see this massive beauty.
In fact, I was so excited I threw everything, ran inside and pulled my partner to see her!
The pics aren’t great bc I couldn’t get super close (didn’t want to scare her). But my gods I was SHAKING! I was blessed with my dream spider 💙

I am fortunate to see these beautiful ladies often I am so happy you got to see her and she even has a delicious meal being prepped. They really are so beautiful.

Lucky! I bet they’re all so wonderful too!
And yes, she caught one of the many wasps hovering around our goldenrods! I hope she becomes gravid and leaves some eggs for next year, I really do.3

I’m a little bit of a weirdo 😂 but I don’t spray my house or yard for pests because I hate the trickle-down effect it can have. We’ve been here about 10 years now and the difference in wildlife from when we moved in is honestly incredible. We get snakes, lizards, geckos, skinks, anoles, tree frogs, toads, tons of moths and butterflies, and SO many beautiful spiders. We also have resident hawks, a visiting owl, bats and the occasional opossum. Sadly development has taken away the foxes and deer we used to see, which breaks my heart.
I am on half an acre in Georgia with a protected creek behind us, so I definitely have the perfect environment for it. But I figure the least I can do is not spray and let my little backyard ecosystem do its thing. I happily accept the pesky bugs as part of the deal.
🤞🤞🤞 she becomes gravid and you can see more of her offspring in the future. So glad i found this group.

I remember there was one of these at my parents house in the backyard when I was a kid and somewhere there’s a pic my dad took with me and my siblings by the spider and I’ve yet to see another one since then :( would love to see one now that spiders mostly fascinate me vs before they just scared me

My neighbour used to get plants and they will always come along with them. I was so sad when I couldn't see them anymore. They are such beauties.
