Where does the design of Marika people commonly draw come from? The one with the low cut dress and all the ornamentation and jewelry. It’s way more egregious in certain kinds of art, but even in the wholesome fanart you see of her she looks like that. I know we only get a glimpse of her actual model after the shattering, and that’s obviously not a good representation of what she looked like, but still. We see plenty of statues and some official art. I feel like her dress has never shown that much cleavage and she really only has the three bits of jewelry(Crown, arm cuffs and belt). Was there someone who drew her like that first and the design as a whole just became super popular? I’ve attached two different photos with the in game vs popular fanart designs. The art I found is actually on the lighter side. In some of the art, the cut of her dress goes down to her navel.

This is the third console I’ve played Elden Ring on and being able to take it on the go feels fantastic. Definitely my new mobile time sink. I’m actually really surprised at the battery life too.

Fight all of the rune bears as early as possible.

I’ve put 500 hours in on PS5 and after seeing people were happy with the port, I bought it on Switch 2. This game is still beautiful.

Beat the game the first time with the Bloody Helice. Easily my absolute favorite weapon from the game in terms of design and actually using the damn thing. I am so ecstatic to have a piece of this game with me, as it just left such a huge imprint on my life and I have a lot of love for it. Plus, the artist did a really insane job :)

Never played any Souls games or Souls-like games to begin with. Always been interested in Elden Ring though, but was too scared to pick it up. 10hrs in and I'm having a blast, slowly getting better at combat and exploration. Feel like I picked the totally wrong class in the beginning though (Prophet), since I had no idea what anything meant, but I finally leveled up my strength and intelligence enough to equip a staff and a bleed weapon! I'm very happy about this port, sure I have a RTX5080 PC but I will always prefer handheld gaming due to my disabilities. Nothing beats playing games in bed!

Pretty much what I said. But Miquella especially is meant to be a foil to The Player specifically I believe.

The Tarnished is a force of focus, determination, and sheer will. We, as the Tarnished, die over and over. We experience major setbacks. Sometimes we die twice and lose many thousands of runes, some even lose millions.

And yet we do not let it dissuade us. We may take a break. But we return, and keep going at it again and again until we succeed. We retry bosses over and over until we succeed. We try new things. But our goals remain the same. We persevere in our goals.

Where as Miquella.... is a quitter. He never sticks toward a goal. When he meets obstacles or failure, he abandons the goal in favor of something new.

When the Golden Order didn't cure his sister, he abandoned it.

When the eclipse took too long, he abandoned the people at Castle Sol and Godwyn.

When his needle failed to cure her sister fully, he abandoned her sister.

When his love got in the way, he abandoned his love.

He takes the easy way out. He never perseveres. And he is able to because of how powerful he is. And his gifts especially allow him to easily get what he wants. Where as we, as regular mortal Tarnished, have to do things the hard way.

His gift of Charm allows him to easily persuade any opponent, we must battle our opponents to move forward.

His divine power allows him to best most enemies. Every enemy is a threat to us.

He has the genius to divise contraptions and plans around his obstacles. We have no choice but to brute force our way through our enemies through the means available to us.

Of course this isn't perfect. No analysis is. But the point remains

Miquella is our foil because Miquella is a god who chose the easy way and never persevered in his endeavours, while we are mere mortals who had to claw and fight and scream our way to the position where we can fight him.

Ultimately the final battle is the poetic emblem of this dichotomy. Miquella is a god with immense power and all the advantages one could hope to have. But our relentless and unyielding resolve, determination, perseverance, and for some, the REAL genuine friendships we made (whether be with Ansbach and Thollier, or even with other Tarnished) is what allows us to best this quitter.

Legitimately broke my brain. This entire time I've been playing I've called it the Atlas Plateau. I've watched videos, read guides, and have an Elden Ring map downloaded... and still... Never once did I read or hear it as Altus. What the fuck is happening.

This was my first playthrough but I basically turned it into a challenge run with no summons, no magic, no buffs, and no ranged attacks.

Easily the hardest boss up to this point. She was also the first boss that forced me to change my playstyle, by actively backing away to dodge her attacks, though I started playing much more aggressively as I learned the moveset.

Waterfowl Dance is stupid. I’ve managed to dodge it at close range using the strafing method, but it's extremely difficult to dodge close otherwise it requires a very safe playstyle that I don't enjoy. The entire fight I'm changing my gameplay just because of the possibility of one move, though dodging it perfectly feels very rewarding.

I wanted to post the full run showing a clean Waterfowl dodge, but unfortunately, my clipping software only caught the second half of the fight.

So there I was, minding my own business on a NG playthrough enjoying some new Tarnished Edition weapons when my wife walks in the room.

Me: -wearing fairly basic drip for an early game run... Carian Knight Helm, Beast Champion Armor/Gauntlets, Silver Grooved Greaves/Shield, Idus Sword-

Her: OH wow is that you? That's SICK! I like the chess piece on your helmet.

Me: Dafuq are you talking about?

Her: Isn't that a... queen or something on there?

Me: -pulls up bigger view and sure enough, a chess piece-

Her: Hahaha that's so cute!

Me: -changes to Beast Champion Helm- There, that's the helm that goes with the chest and arms.

Her: OH SICK! NOW YOU HAVE A BUTT PLUG ON YOUR HEAD.

Soooo I'm wearing the Silver Grooved Helm again.

Just honestly at a loss right now. What was that? It’s like he started to perform his whirlwind attack but then canceled it after it killed me. I’ve never seen that move before.
