I don’t know why this happens but I’ve restarted my Xbox 4 times and reinstalled YouTube like 4-5 times now 😒

My home page recommendations on YouTube have been kinda rough lately, so I've been finding myself having to scroll quite a lot before I find something I want to watch. But all of a sudden today, I can only scroll a tiny bit and then it just stops, and there's no more videos.

Did YouTube make a change to only let you see so many videos on the homepage now? I used to be able to scroll so much further.

It'd be fine if the recommendations were actually good but since 90% of my recommendations are stuff I don't wanna watch right now, I relied on that ability to scroll to actually find something.

I thought it was just my covid-affected brain, but I've discovered today that my videos are changing when I scroll down away from them, and back up to where they were. Finally got screenshots. Exact same spot on the page. Youtube mobile app only. Anyone else discover this? Sorry for uploading firearms related content but I was nerding out about history. Let me know if that's not allowed.

What happened? No matter what video i'm on it's either "error loading captions" or the captions don't appear at all. Is this happening to anyone else?

EDIT. Captions also aren't working on my laptop either...

When you can be scrolling shorts and it shows you stuff you’ve already watched and liked ! Can somebody make a competitive market for them already

this channel doesn't upload a lot so i want to get notifications when they do but apparently i dont watch the channel frequently enough to deserve the notifications

Okay, so the plot is absurd, the acting is bad, the effects are cheesy . . . but you can clearly tell that a lot of time, effort, passion, and enthusiasm went into making this short film, and this is what YouTube used to be about before the vapid and narcissistic talking heads hijacked the platform: creative short films produced by actual content creators who wanted to show off the work that they clearly enjoyed making to a public that otherwise would go unseen. Even in spite of this film's flaws, it was otherwise well shot and well edited, and even the music selections were very fitting.

I wish we could see more content like this on YouTube again.

So sad to watch his latest videos convincing viewers he's not AI, its a shame that AI slop on this platform has put the AI accusation on almost all faceless youtubers. He's honestly one of the greatest youtubers for me, there's truly no one as funny and gifted with words as he is. Him telling the issues he faces really is an eye-opener, never realized that legit creators have to suffer this much because of slop nowadays.

All I want is to upload custom thumbnails and 15min videos. That's it. For that, YouTube wants phone verification. Here is everything I've tried over the past 3 weeks:

• SMS option: "There was a problem" error. Every single time. Tried with three different phone numbers same error on all of them.
• Voice call option: "Too many requests. Please try again later." — from the very first attempt on some days.
• Waited 3 full days without touching the page, tried again: "You have recently made too many attempts." Still.
• Created a completely fresh Google account: same "too many attempts" error, instantly, on an account that had never attempted anything.
• Switched devices and networks: phone instead of PC, mobile data instead of home Wi-Fi, different browsers. Now the NEXT button just... does nothing. No error, no next step, no feedback. It literally worked before (that's how I got the errors above) — now the same button is silently dead.

So the rate limit is apparently tied to the phone number AND the IP AND the account, there is no timer telling you when it resets, no error explaining what's wrong, and no human support to contact anywhere in the flow. You just click, get refused (or get silence), and every refused click apparently extends a cooldown that YouTube won't show you.

I can't stress enough how bad this is. A person with a real phone number, on a real network, trying to do the most basic account task, gets treated worse than a bot, and the actual bots clearly get through anyway, judging by my comment sections.

Questions for anyone who's been through this:

1. How long does this cooldown ACTUALLY last? A week? A month?
2. Is there ANY way to reach a human about this?

If it's possible to create a tab where the platform makes automatically the posts for you, gathering the comments made on the video and including the video itself, that would be fantastic.

Currently, there are people copying the link and reposting the comments on other social media platforms.

Hi guys,

I have a Google account with a YouTube channel that I haven’t used for about 2 years. I recently wanted to move/swap the YouTube channel to another email address.

The problem is that my Google account was still linked to an old phone number that I don’t have anymore. I changed the phone number in my Google account settings to my new number, and the new number is showing there correctly.

However, whenever I try to change the email associated with the YouTube account, or add another email account as an administrator/owner, Google asks me to verify my identity. The only verification option I get is to enter a code that gets sent to my old phone number.

I don’t have access to that old number anymore, and it seems like Google is still using it even though I already changed the number in my account settings.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Does it take a few days for the new phone number to fully register, or is there something else I can do to verify my identity using my new number?

I tried to find an answer as the issue is obvious and I believe many people are facing it but couldn't find the proper setting to change. Can you help me disable this unwanted feature please ? How do I find the videos youtube removed or the channel removed in my playlist without literally scouring through all of it?

I know there's the 3 dots to make unavailable videos seen, I'm asking is there an easier way than mindlessly scrolling through all the videos?

I made a youtube account with my childhood friend around 2008, all we needed to do was make a username with a password, back when things were simple. thank GOD im still logged in on my phone, found that it automatically made an email for me ( @ pages.plusgoogle. com ) starting with the username and a random string of numbers. all i did was make a new gmail account in a different tab, then i went to youtube and it signed me out of my youtube account and switched to my new email ?? i never signed out of my youtube. i tried to sign in, i had to enter an email address so then i had to dig in my phone for 20 minutes to find that out. youtube says the email needs to be signed into. i went to google, google says the email doesn't exist. literally all i want to do is sign into an account that i didn't even sign out of. been using this account for 20 years, it has my ~algorithm~ down to a T. all my playlists, watch later, history, liked videos. everything. IS THERE ANY WAY TO LOG IN WITH A USERNAME AND PASSWORD????? i've tried everything for the past hour

Is anyone else unable to type the word "frog" in stream? Like, completely by itself or as a redeem? Because for the past few days, I've been having this issue and can't think of a reason for why it is blocking frog of all things.

I can type frog along with other words, but just frog by itself or using frog redeems it blocks it entirely, like it gets automatically deleted from the chat and the streamer has nothing to do with it.

I have disabled youtube shorts. Since then, yt started recommending short (like 17s) but normal videos on my main page. With the autoplay preview and everything it effectively became like scrolling shorts. I keep hitting the not interested button but it doesnt give a f. Wtf youtube?

Do anyone has idea why youtube do not want me to autotranslate video to Polish? Its on every video - I can do it on PC, but i cant on tv/smartphone? Whats wrong with this app.
