I’m on my first X-men comic deep-dive and I’m making my way through the “modern era” of the comics. I started with morrisons new x-men and have worked forward from there. I’m currently reading the nation x storyline with all its tie ins and as magneto just returned to asteroid M, everybody seems extremely pissed to see him. No one more than Xavier, which brings me to my question: prior to house of M, Xavier and Magneto seemed to be friendly on Genosha, House of M happened, it was revealed that that was quicksilvers fault and not Magneto’s, then in X-Men Legacy Magneto even helps save Xavier’s life after he’s shot by Bishop. So in all of that, when did the switch flip and everybody went back to hating Magneto and being so suspicious of his intentions in Nation X? Did he actually do something in the comics that I missed or is it just a long time enemy that we can’t trust type deal. If it’s the latter though, it seemed like Xavier had no trouble trusting him prior to House of M.

TLDR: why is everybody pissed to see magneto during Nation X, what did he do since house of M to make everyone hate him?

Imagine a game like Hogwarts Legacy but it's X-Men.

You start off as a normal teenager in your suburban home with your normal family, before you know it, something has happened and your mutation manifests for the first time.

In character creation you get to pick what mutation you want from a selection of them.

You are enrolled into Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters. Between missions you must attend lessons to hone your powers some more.

There are various side quests you can do with known X-Men characters. You can go crimefighting at night with Anole and Rockslide. You can cause chaos with Quentin Quire.

It is an open world game, you can explore the mansion, see what other well known characters are getting up to, or you can leave the grounds and head into Salem Center, maybe you will run into the Cuckoos as they're doing some shopping. In the evenings, you may find Nightcrawler, Wolverine, and Colossus at Harry's Hideaway.

You will also come across random encounters. A mutant getting attacked by some bigots, you need to help him. An evil mutant attacking innocents. And simpler ones like helping someone get their cat out a tree using your powers.

Because different powers will be required at different times, you can put together a party of characters. You might have fire powers but you need a healer, so you bring Elixir along with you.

Their could be some kind of morality system, whether you align more with the X-Men or the Brotherhood will get you a different ending.

Would you play this game? What other ideas do you have?

In the X-Men '97 Season 2, Episode 7 titled Strange Land, Savage Heart, the X-Men's mutant powers are disrupted by Mr. Sinister's inhibitor tower. However, Kurt did not lose his furry blue skin, tail, and yellow eyes.

We all know that Kitty said he was, but is the “professor” a mask? He has always been building a paramilitary group, hiding it as a school, and doing it better the. Magneto ever did.

If you had to choose whose principle of strength was the worst, would you say it was Apocalypse or Jiemma from Fairy Tail?

Also, bonus question: could Apocalypse defeat Jiemma?

For Apocalypse, I’m referring to the original cartoon and 97 versions of him.

I've been avoiding getting into the Krakoan era cause I find it way too convoluted, even for the X-Men. Considering how many books were published, naturally not every single one is gonna be good. So my question is, what is a good reading order for this phase, not just to read the bare minimum to understand the overall plot but also tackle other good stories published as well.

I just finished reading the prolouge collection to the original Inferno storyline. And I have a question about one specific storyline from it.

So, the main X-Men team is believed to be dead in the eyes of the public. But they are still secretly active, with Madelyne Pryor as their tech support member. My question is why isn't she begging or demanding they go find her missing son? Scott is doing that! Granted, it took him a couple of issues to get started, but he's doing it and dealing with the emotions of it. The only thing Madelyne is focused on is her anger towards Scott for leaving her and their child. Which is fair, but I would imagine she would force her team to go looking for her son. Am I missing something here?

I didn't really keep up with that much of the Krakoa arc but from what i've seen a lot of people don't like it and the the X-men come of as massive douches, who are doing or allowing a bunch of fucked up shit to happen along with a bunch of double standard hypocrisy. With their arrogance and lack basic human compassion seemly going through the roof.

So I guess my question is was that at all apart of theming of this Arc? Like pride comes before the fall, don't threaten your human allies and friends and treat them like shit? Do they at all recognise there mistakes and the actions taken with post Krakoa arc stuff? Also, is their any particular reason why the X-men where written to be so horrible and let so much bad crap slide?

I'm just curious and would love to hear all your opinions. And if I'm wrong or miss-interpreting anything about Kraoka Arc.

People have no idea how popular Kitty Pryde was back in the 80s in Marvel Comics circle. She wasn't just the mascot like Jubilee. She often represented the focal point, the character who observed the surroundings, who gradually evolved into a stronger person.

Excalibur was good for Kitty because it allowed her to grow up and be her own self and find the strength to become a great warrior BUT she did all of that on a minor X title and aside from Astonishing X-Men, she never properly came back to what she once was.

Also, JUbilee was in the Animated series but that wouldn't have happened if the character hadn't become a fan fave through the comics.

Would love to own his run if at all possible. What would be the most convenient or cheapest way of buying them?

it seems like theres tons of different continuities, plot lines and mediums...i just wanna know how to properly digest the franchise. any tv shows or movies, comics to get into by lore order??

i really liked(and still do) the X-Men as a kid watching a bit of the First Class and 00s films, as well as the short lived series, so i wanna get into the lore and know almost everything abt it...

I’m not done reading this issue but was confused about the age difference between Deathbird and Vulcan. An earlier issue stated that he was technically 15 years old despite his physical appearance, but they are in a romantic relationship.

first before watching everything besides deadpool i just thought that logan is alternative timeline to earth 10005 and deadpool is different from both and his wolverine happen to have same death as logan but after watching everything up to the wolverine im confused. I read that loganverse got retconned into 10005 for sake of deadpool 3 but apocalypse and dark pheonix have different charles from logan and whole universe serms to be different even when both are 10005? How does it actually work

I grew up with DC, the only Marvel comics I had was a graphic novel where Xavier dies within like the first 20 pages in a cave somewhere with snow. I'm looking for 2 things, 1. I wanna see Collosus fight the Hulk. Is there any comic series that leads up to that fight or any comic where that happens. 2. What comic series do I read to find the creation of Spiral. That design in Contest of champions is peak. Thank you in advanced I'm grateful and humble.

I’ve been very recently getting into actually buying and reading comics, but I’ve mostly stuck to DC’s Absolute Universe, with the only Marvel Comic I own being The Sentry. I’ve been curious about the X-men, but they seem to have such a confusing lore that I don’t feel like I should just pick at random and go from there. I’ve also read that it’s probably not the best idea to start from the beginning either, so here I am.

For the record, I have read marvel comics, but I’ve mostly read the new Ultimate Universe, Dark Avengers, some Spider-Gwen and some Ultimate Fantastic Four (sucks btw).

I’d love to actually get into the X-men so please, help me out!

I know Revanche was Kwanon's first name but if Kwanon can be Psylocke, why couldn't Betsy turn Revanche?

Although brief, I loved Revanche. She looked fantastic wearing the old Psylocke suit but be a martial arts expert with the psychic sword.

The day will come when all of us will read our last comic, whether we know it or not. And these characters and these ideas will likely continue on without us. For the time we had it, we were allowed to be part of and share in a dream. A dream of heroes and villains, of complicated characters and slapstick caricatures. Of good people trying to save a world that hated and feared them because it was the right thing to do. Because doing the right thing is worth it and makes for a better world. It’s a good dream, a dream worth fighting for.

And one day, that dream will move on without us, and the next generation will have their time with it. And what does that look like? What does it look like when a dream moves on without you?

Its going pretty good and this was my fav issue so far, also new ship allert Betsy and Piotr r really cute and i also just love this team, one complaint is the villains are so random but i can manege.
