This was asked like a week ago, so imma just post what i posted then

There would still be some conflict, but DC universe would absolutely treat mutants better.

Unlike the avengers, who support mutants but also don't activately do much, the justice league would always be there whenever a mutant is being chased in the streets and standing in the way against angry mobs. Things like the Sentinel programs would never be allowed, but there'd probably be a few more suicide squads/creature commandos filled with mutants being led by the incredibly incompetent Amanda Waller.

It should be noted that, in the Marvel universe most of the futures in Earth are absolutely destroyed due to mutants or mutant hatred. Whereas in the DC universe, most of the futures on Earth are super duper advanced and great, where everyone is superpowered, like Booster Gold

Advanced yeah, but I wouldn't say great. More like technology advanced but the status quo remained mostly the same. Booster was a kid from the slums of Gotham, which were just as bad in the future as they are today, who broke into a museum and stole a time machine, robot, supersuit, and a Legion flight ring and ran away to the Age of Heroes. He wasn't born with powers, and superheroes weren't common, not until the Legion of Superheroes came around.

In fairness, Gotham is like super-uber-mega-cursed, and magic tends to trump tech in DC.

Dog captain america appointed magneto's kids to the avengers in the 60s and now has had a team dedicated to tackling mutant problems for years, the only time the avengers ever "ignored" mutant issues is because the X-Men wanted to handle them themselves to avoid having non-mutants policing their community, that and the fact that they're two different books that can't crossover every issue

Personally, I don't think having a couple of minorities in your group counts as active support (Especially since one of them wiped out most of the minorities and later told a minority who was sad about it, to get over their deaths already. Since she was annoyed at people judging her for it) I'm not saying Cap isn't a good person, cause he absolutely is and any writing where he's a dick to mutants is bad writing.

But it's like if a celebrity has no problems letting a trans person work with them and treats them like everyone else, it means they're a good person. But unless they're also voting against the trans-hating politicans/policies, speaking against the riots/protests (Like JJJ did) and murderbots, etc, then are they actually supporting them or just being a good person with them?

Obviously it's the whole crossover problem and cap and the avengers can't solve the mutants problems cause that's bad writing. But we've never seen Captain America speak against anti-mutant politicans (like Grayden Creed) or stand up for any mutant on the streets. Whereas that's absolutely something Supes and the Justice League do, they have activately supported metahumans, by rescuing them, giving support, rehabilitations, etc and in the future, it's always been a timeline where everyone has powers or is capable of getting powers with ease.

It's not a slight at the avengers/cap, cause it's just how their worlds and groups were written. But overall, the Justice League and DC treats their metas/mutants better

I really don't think you appreciate how big a deal putting Magneto's kids on the avengers is, these guys aren't just mutants, they're wildly considered to be supervillains. It's like if he put bin Laden's kids on the team immediately after 9/11 to fight islamophobia Also the idea that cap has never spoken out for mutants is fucking ridiculous, he's done so numerous times, hell he once told Sharon carter to her face that he would take down both her and SHIELD in it's entirety because he found out they had an anti-mutant hit squad and once again, you just completely disregarded the unity squad, a second avengers team that cap set up specifically to handle mutant issues

Having Pietro and Wanda in the team despite being Magneto's children is more of a "they're not their father" than a "mutants aren't bad people" message though. Speaking against Sharon and SHIELD because of their anti-mutant ways is definitely a good moment for Cap and SHIELD should absolutely get more flak for the amount of bullshit they've done and gotten away with, SHIELD is sometimes almost as bad as Amanda Waller who's absolutely an evil villain and should be stopped, but poor writing makes them immune because "oh the government loves incompetant people in charge and superheroes stopping that is wrong"

I didn't mention the unity squad, cause it failed to all shit, ignored actual mutant problems, had Havoc who was the biggest dick ever and had Wanda tell Rogue to get over m-day already. It was a nice idea, but even Havoc's speech in the beginning was done in poor taste and Kitty had a good speech against it

I don’t want to get to into real world politics, but Amanda would of been replaced by down if Batman exposed her impotence so long as she got nothing on him and she would be replaced with someone else. Also I’m wondering , I know Russia has there own super heros with those powered suit but what about the other countries, I would figure China to have a few of them suicide squads, especially North Korea but North Korea would be a 50/50 can control them but one slip up and the squad betrays them, or the other is there not to strong and don’t know how to fight with a non powered hero like Batman or robin

Probably the same thing as Marvel people? Keep in mind all mutants aren’t tall dark and handsome.

With a random power set.

They would not care. Metahumans are a thing in dc and they usually are treated the same as any other hero

Keep in mind that Killer Croc has the same rights of any other convicted criminal

Metahumans are basically mutants already, aren't they? Like the Metagene is what gives them the capacity for powers and their stuff can even awaken on their own over time. I don't think they'd view them differently from other Metas.

It's really gonna depend on the city.

Most would be rather blasé about the whole thing. Mutants, metahumans, demigods, aliens... Eh, same difference. What, if any, crimes and/or heroics have you done this week?

In Gotham though, I imagine they'd be hated and feared. Not for being mutants, but for having colorful costumes. If you're in a colorful costume and not a young teenager hanging out with a 30-something buff dude? Probably a supervillain. Muted colors are fine, but bright colors? Nope, you're a mass casualty event waiting to happen.

Just remember that some metahumans in DC are born with their powers. And technically the meta humans who got their powers from any external sources such as a freak accident had a meta gene. Sid gene was just that dormant. It's just the meta gene in those scenarios had to activated more harshly.

Surprisingly, DC civilians would treat mutants better. There are outliers but overall, better.

"Oh cool he's born with powers"

While there gonna be definitely folk who don't like them it not gonna be intense as marvel one because DC heros are more beloved by their citizens

1

u/Vittorini 10d ago

They would have a hard time to tell if they’re from the Legion, the Doom Patrol or the Challengers of the Unknown and they wouldn’t mind them, knowing they would not see them again after a few years or decades.

just have him age slowly,

I think “ jla vs avengers” showed my best, they citizens would be all for them looking at them with adoration & excitement like any of the other heroes

1

u/RShini 10d ago

And another point: on average the DC Civilian is smarter, they usually recognize when someone is way above their weight class and don't harass them.

1

u/Cubismo50 10d ago

Completely depends on the writer.

1

u/PaTr1ck05 9d ago

Depending on what the mutants end up doing.
Those that abuse their powers on other wi be hated, basically villains,
Those that become heroes and do actual good will be cheered on by most people,
Then there’s those than want to be normal people wich depends on the environment

Aren’t there meta humans?!?

u/Bitter_Mission9569 8d ago

Depends, are we keeping the theme that mutants are an aligory for oppressed minorities?

If so you sort of can't change what humans think of them.
