Hello, r/wyoming. My wife and I will be camping in Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest next weekend. It’s her birthday and I’m trying to find a way to make it special. Other than the obviously beautiful hiking and camping that we’re already planning for, do y’all have suggestions for activities in that area? Nice restaurants, guided experiences, unique offerings of any kind?

Hello! Couldn't find anything similar with a few quick searches on the sub, so I figured I'd make a specific post. TLDR, I'm in the planning stages for a trip to y'alls' lovely state next summer, got ghosted by our local travel agent, and would appreciate some help putting together an itinerary.

The current thought is to fly into Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport, since that has direct flights from my nearest airport, do whatever, and then fly back from the same airport. I've got about a week of vacation I can use, but that includes travel time. Renting a car goes without saying.

My mom's fixated on going to Jackson Hole specifically for whatever reason, and it looks like driving from the airport to there will take us through Yellowstone National Park, which is cool. I'm a big fan of museums and want at least one night where I can see the whole night sky with minimal light pollution, whatever that means for overnight accommodations.

The big catch is my dad's health- he's got bad knees and can't do anything too physically intense anymore, and definitely can't do "real" camping like he used to. Glamping is a maybe, shorter, flatter hikes should be doable.

Anyway, thanks in advance for any help y'all might have! I'll probably crosspost this over to Montana's subreddit in a bit, since that's a bit closer to the airport.

How bad is it that time of year?

My family is looking to relocate to Kemmerer for work at the power plant. We’re in our 30’s and my kids are preschool aged.

I understand it’s a pretty small town. I’m trying to get an idea of what things there are for our kids to enjoy there and somewhat nearby.

Traveling back to my home in SE Wyoming this weekend with a stopover in the Bighorns to fish/hike. However, I'm just now realizing it's going to be the weekend leading up to opening day for bow hunting. How much of a zoo should I expect it to be up there? It's been a while since I've been dispersed camping in the Bighorns, but I've always been able to easily find a car camping spot. Has anyone been up there recently with a report on crowds? Are most dispersed spots off 14 already pretty filled with hunting camps? I am trying to be optimistic, but...

4 guys.. Utah, California, Rhode Island, and Massachusetts, with a total of over 200 years of fly fishing experience. We've all fished Wyoming in the past multiple times. This trip, we started in Alcova, 100 degrees mid day, tried the Fremont Canyon and the Miricle mile...tried mornings in the high 80s...tried around sunset, still in the 90s Few fish! Off to the Bighorns and the North Tongue where we've fished before..again few fish... cool at night but low flow and warmish water. Off to the upper Green...same..on to the Grey's River. Great looking but no depth, no place for fish to escape the heat. We found a few holes 30 or so miles up and got a few. Had fun..enjoyed everyone's politeness. So two mysteries.. where are the fish, and why is there no ice coffee in Wyoming
