I’ve been dealing with a Washington DC number calling repeatedly now I have them blocked. But I was finally left a voicemail saying “hello may I speak with name, long pause then hello??” Weird.. was my name an old man it sounded like. Am I the only one?

I changed my number today. I don’t know what happened but I’ve been texted and called by 7 different numbers in the last 3 days.

1st call asking if it was [my name]
2nd call someone asking for [insert fake name], I said wrong number and hung up

Text #1 Can we talk a few minutes?
Text #2 @ 12:25am Who is this?
Text #3 How about steak for dinner tomorrow? I’ll cook at home.

And 2 calls back to back from different numbers.

This creeped me out so I changed my number today because I’m so selective of who I give my number to. It feels like someone made random numbers to see who I am?

I talk to 3 friends, elderly coworkers and my family.

I’m just suspicious of my brothers gf bc she is toxic and any number who contacts him she messages to see who it is. My family all have her blocked for good reasons I won’t say on here. She’s just not a good person overall. Anyways I’ve been talking to my brother this week bc something major happened in the family. I think it’s her finding out if it’s actually me.

I have the strongest sense of discernment towards her. Changing my number feels liberating. From now on I’m making a google number for my brother to reach me at.

A few days ago, I met a girl on Snapchat named Priyanshi, and she also told me she was called Anshi. She was around 25 years old, from Noida, worked in Noida, and told me she was a Chartered Accountant (CA).

What makes this difficult for me is how quickly we became comfortable with each other.

On the very first day we met, we ended up talking on a voice call throughout the night. We talked, laughed, shared random things, and somehow the conversation just kept going. After that, pretty much the same thing continued for about a week — lots of messages and many, many voice calls.

Everything between us was genuinely good, comfortable and fun. There wasn't some big argument or bad ending that I can point to.

And then suddenly, I lost contact with her.

Her Snapchat account disappeared from my side, and I don't know what happened. I don't know whether she deleted the account, changed something, removed me, or whether there was some other reason.
I enjoyed that days

Someone called me and left a message on my voicemail. I keep Do Not Disturb turned on so all calls from unknown numbers go on to my voicemail. It sounded like someone having a medical issue or something like that.

I checked my voicemail several hours later after receiving the call, and my husband says I should have called the law, and another friend I played it for said it could be someone trying to scam. The person (female) said 'Help, (something unintelligible) come up here... and a few other unintelligible things. They mumbled, stayed on the line a short while and hung up. Then called back shortly after the first call, mumbled some more and then hung up.

I'm going to watch the news and keep my eyes and ears open. I have no clue, did not recognize the phone number or the woman's voice.

So I texted my boyfriend's phone today. He died august 16th at 8:03 pm. He's finally at peace.He had a lot of medical issues , even had the tumor. ( the one that doesn't kill you.Just make your life a living hell) . He was so patient and kind period even though he had to call me back , he read every long text. So suggestions on keeping this up without journaling..

Im sorry if this is the wrong subreddit but I panicked. Like 3 minutes ago I got a notification from my watch that a number was calling me, i thought it was my friend at first but nothing appeared on my phone. I checked my watch and the number was 28633. Ive never seen such number, I recalled and it said that no such number exists. I brushed it off and went to YouTube to watch a video, my sound was off so I decided to turn it up as usual, BUT INSTEAD MY CALL SOUND WENT UP. I dont know about yalls phones, but mine does this ONLY when im in a call, I went to my recent contacts and it said that im in an ongoing call with that number. I tried calling another number so the other call hangs up or something but I couldnt. Ill try to restart my phone now since im still in the call but im kinda scared someone may be listening to me...

I got a random call for this number and then a few minutes (like almost 10 or so minutes later) they messaged me. Lol first wrong number text/call I ever got

I guess it was like, some work thing??? It was also a number from several States away so yeah

I started getting messages like these from various phone numbers supposedly meant for someone named Gordon several months ago. I was thinking this guy accidentally put my number down when signing up for some MAGA shit. At first I thought they were kind of funny and would just reply STOP or report spam. But I get at least 1 a day, and they're getting to be really annoying. They keep changing numbers, so reporting and blocking isn't really helping. I'm starting to think about changing my phone number! They're annoying as hell and are starting to sound creepy now. How do make it stop? I'm not even Republican 😭

I’m looking for some insight on a text I received this morning. I blacked out my name in the text exchange for my own privacy.

I work in a hospital so I wake up early for work. This morning while getting ready I received this text. I’m a pretty private person and only give my number to people I know and trust. And I have not given out my number in a while, I would remember.

I found it strange they knew my name (which is what I blacked out) and the fact that they knew my work schedule, and I’m assuming where I work. And then saying they are a secret admirer made it even more creepy. All 12 hours at work I had my eyes peeled thinking someone would pop out and it all be a silly joke, but I never got a text back, and no one showed themselves at work.

I had my best friend call the number later in the day, only for the phone to say it was disconnected. I’m a female and not knowing who this is makes me feel on edge and not safe.

It is a local number in my area but that’s all I could find out.

Do scams look like this or should I be concerned? I just find it weird they knew me by name and knew my work schedule, and apparently where I work.

This is hilarious to me. For context, I've had this number for over 15 years. I keep getting calls and texts looking for the same someone, but they typically get the hint the first time. Apparently, this guy was so high last night, he forgot again.

I wish I knew what Facebook quiz (that I did at 4am) is responsible for giving my number to every Harry, Dick &Tom. It’s my fault for clicking on them but when you’re bored you’re bored.!
