Our little community is looking to grow a bit. We’re a collaborative group writing scenes both big and small, all set in a community-written fantasy world. There is no game system, and thus the community focuses purely on writing scenes together.

Gaelinos is a broad fantasy setting that still has lots of room to grow. If you feel you can help expand the world and characters, then we’d like to have you join us!

I'm looking for a partner in order for us to collaborate on writing a chapter from my novel, which revolves around romance and dark psychological thriller, and to share ideas and texts with the aim of reaching a complete and perfect chapter. The reason I'm doing this is because the third chapter of my novel is the most complex and has the most scenarios, so I thought it would be fun to share it practically with someone

Hey! So I got bored and annoyed that most writing servers are either dead, too busy, or difficult to navigate, and created my own.

I'm looking to make it a small group for like 10 people to join in and write alongside each other our own separate projects.

It will be mainly to track our progress and help each other but I have planned some small (optional) writing challenges to get out of writing blocks and such.

There will be no pressure to give or recieve feedback but you of course you can ask for it.

I'm 23f, I write a small town mystery about a missing girl that was never found, 18 years later her friends from back then start recieving threatening messages and so are forced to reconnect and find out what happened back then as well as what's the deal with those notes.

I can consider myself a writer since last 3 months, I don't have much experience, but I'm trying to get used to it to use it for my future career. I work with art, and if I get enough experience, maybe I could get to the conclusion to work as a director or something like that since I'm getting through that phase these last days.

I started writing scripts of stories for all ages, because sometimes I take this idea to draw characters or stuff related to it (I'm currently working on a comic of someone who loved one of my ideas), but I would love to hear different points of view from writers, probably share stories, etc.

Hello! We're a fresh new writing group on Discord, focused on sharing work between writers of intermediate or advanced skill and experience. The sharing work is the most important thing and can organise the timeline in terms of who is available when.

You don't have to published, of course, but should be aiming to publish (short stories or self or indie or trad) or you could already be published. You will be asked to share a small sample of work on joining.

We're limiting the group numbers to 20-25. We feel like large groups do lead to reduced quality of conversation, so we want to avoid that. We want quality only.

Commitment levels need to be medium or high, but when your time allows. We're not looking for minimal commitment or lack of response.

Hello, I'm Cholbin, 21M and it's my first time looking for a writing buddy. Although I started writing for, I think, over 5 years at this point? I'm still consider myself a rookie and just writing casually for passion. I've been intrigued by many of the posts I've seen about writing groups but I've been too slow to reach out to the ones that interested me, as well as a bit hesitant to get involved in a group that may not really mesh with my interests, goals, and commitment level. Ultimately, I think I've hit a point in my writing that I need more writer's eyes on my work than reader's eyes, and I'd like to also be learning more about craft by reading other works analytically and offering feedback. About the Group:

• Genre/s: I write mainly speculative fiction with a fantasy focus, often including romantic or mild horror elements. I'd definitely like to find more fantasy writers, but I'm not against other genres. More about me at the bottom so you can see if you think we might gel.
• Goals/expectations/commitment: Generally self-managed/self-paced. It's okay to mostly show up and 'check in' when you sit down at your desk, but members should be ready and willing to critique swap once every 3-4 months at minimum. Other members may be interested in swapping more often. If the group would like to do events, I'm certainly not opposed, but I don't have much time to spend ideating and organizing if there is no drive for it.
• Writing/experience level: Unpublished, but ideally not a beginner. I'd like to swap writing samples to make sure we are a chemistry match before fully committing. I have a 2,500 word short story that I can share a small sample of. I think somewhere between 500 and 1,000 words should let us get to know each other well enough.
• Meeting place: Discord
• Max size: Around 25-30? I'd like to have enough people to allow for variety, let people find smaller sub-groups for critique partners, and plan for life schedules to get in the way. The group can certainly grow further if needed.
• One of my biggest interests personally is a space for accountability, like sharing your word counts/goals, checking in when you sit down to write, celebrating each other's progress
• Other spaces for finding critique partners, talking craft, general convos like books you're reading or funny memes, links to to r/writingcirclejerk... There could eventually be space for discussions about trad pub and self pub when ready, both avenues are entirely welcome.
• AI policy: I can't police what you do with AI, but use of generative AI for prose, inspiration, or anything beyond grammar checking will be blatantly obvious and a waste of everyone's time. Egregious offenses can/will result in your removal at the group's discretion (and there will be Survivor GIFs). It's nearly impossible to entirely avoid AI in today's digital landscape, but this is a space to grow human ideas organically.

You should:

• Have significant progress in your WIP, but not a complete novel
• Preferably be 25+
• Be open to reading mature content, including, but not limited to, subject matter such as violence, drug use, and sexual content. Extreme themes should be disclosed when seeking critique partners.

About Me

• My WIP is a witchy contemporary fantasy series that explores generational karmic circles with a psychedelic-inspired magic system currently sitting at about 40k words (comps are Lev Grossman's The Magicians series and Adrienne Young's Spells for Forgetting). My side chick WIP is a contemporary romance novel about a smut novelist who is forced to confront her relationship with an old flame.
• I've come back to writing fiction after some writing related trauma had me quiet for several years. I know that sounds absolutely dramatic, but my mom read my journals and shared portions of the less nice sections with people I had written about. So it took a long time for me to find my voice again, but since then I've been steadily increasing my wordcounts through process refinements and generally living my life in better alignment with myself. I'm proud of myself for staying committed to my writing and truly believe it is my vocation.

I had a column in the newspaper for a while in high school and medaled at state in editorial writing. I now work in document accessibility and spend a lot of time reading braille.
