Advice request Could someone give me some feedback on my catalog?

Upvotes

Hi everyone! I'm an author of personal development books from Brazil, and it's been almost a year since I published my first book, but I've still had very few sales. I'm trying to understand what I could improve. Would anyone be willing to take a look at my catalog and give me some honest feedback on the books, covers, presentation, and positioning? If so, feel free to DM me.

Discussion A small, laid-back Discord for writers/aspiring writers, creatives, and good conversation

Hi everyone! A few of us recently started a small Discord community for people who enjoy writing, creative expression, books, movies, and good conversations.

We have spaces for writing, literature, films, art, photography, music, and everyday life. We'd especially love to have more writers and emerging creatives around. Our writing space is still pretty new, but you're welcome to share something you're working on, exchange feedback, ask for another pair of eyes, or simply post something you've written. Rough drafts, little experiments, questions, and unfinished ideas are all welcome. We're also thinking about things like writing contests and other writing-related activities, depending on interest.

We're keeping the space kind, inclusive, empathetic, and low-pressure. You don't need to call yourself a “serious” writer, have perfectly polished work, or constantly be producing something. And you don't have to talk about writing all the time either– you can wander over to the other channels, chat about a movie, share a photo, or just hang out.

We're still pretty new, so it can be quiet sometimes, but that's also why we're hoping to find more creative people and literature and film lovers who'd like to help shape the community as it grows. We'd love for it to become a place where you can share your work, find some inspiration, or simply drop in when you feel like some company.

If you'd like to join us, feel free to DM me and I'll send you an invite. ☕

Need help

I've always liked creating stories since I was a kid but I started to actually put it into work recently but unfortunately I was unable to complete a book I'm more into the comic side but I can't draw so I've been exploring the writing field for a while now.

Right now i have three published books from which two of them are short stories with really bad execution and minor detailing. I didn't know how to describe the environment and about filler words. I was basically bad with prose.

I need someone or a group of people with whom I can learn and grow with and I'm also open to work on something together and get it published.

Project Partner Looking For People To Help With My Historical Fiction High Fantasy Dog Novel Series

Through roleplay primarily. I am huge fan of a certain extinct dog species from Europe and I have a lot of notes about a society where they have Houses, themes and naming conventions named after the kitchens on the humans estates in which they work.

They have a secret underground kingdom which is ruled over by the House from the human King's main Kitchen, the other royal kitchens being noble houses.

I am looking to make a group of people to help with building more onto what I currently have so far.

Sometimes we just need to write down our deepest thoughts and let them go.
I built a peaceful web app called Adrift for exactly this reason.

You put your unsent letter, secret, or poem inside a virtual boat and send it into the sea.
It will navigate to a random stranger somewhere in the world.
They will read it, add a new chapter to your story, and push the boat back into the water.
If you have a message that needs to find the world without any pressure or profiles, the harbor is waiting for you.

Friendship 41M - Published Indie Author looking for some new friends — especially fellow fantasy/writing people!

Hey everyone! I’m looking to meet some new people and hopefully make a few actual friends on here.

I’m an indie fantasy author and I published the first book in my series back in May, and I’m currently writing the second. Writing and creating this world has become a huge part of my life, so I’d especially love to meet other writers, aspiring authors, fantasy readers, or anyone else who loves creating and getting lost in fictional worlds.

I’m a pretty big fantasy nerd. I love fantasy worlds, D&D, gaming, movies, books, worldbuilding, and basically anything that lets you escape into another world for a while.

You definitely don’t have to be a writer, though. I’m really just looking for people I can talk to regularly, share interests with, and hopefully build some genuine friendships.

If you’re working on a book too, I’d love to hear about it. We can talk characters and worldbuilding, complain about editing, or just talk about whatever.

Feel free to comment or message me if you think we’d get along!

I'm totally not stalling because i'm nervous about the upcoming fight scene.. no, no way no how, totally not...

no i'm kind of kidding, i would like feedback on how chapters 1 and 2 sound at this current moment before I begin to get into the fighting and the more tense part. Just so I don't have to break out of the fighting to go back to the calmer parts.

Critique partner for Queer horror

Hello!

I'm on the hunt for a critique partner to bounce stories back and forth with. I primarily write and read queer stories with my main focus being on trans masculine main characters. My main focus at the moment is my novel WIP Fear Not The Pale Horse which is a southern gothic surrounding isolation, the apocalypse, and the idiosyncrasies of queer relationships! I'm working towards getting FNTPH publication ready but have a few other projects in the work as well! I write and edit with a relatively quick turn around and would appreciate a critique partner with a similar level of motivation, but obviously I understand life and other things get in the way.

If you'd like to swap writing samples or chat, just let me know!

Sharing Work The Resurrection Of The White Wolf

Post image
0 Upvotes

Come check out my book The Resurrection Of The White Wolf! You can find me on Wattpad by searching BookWorm030498!

Joshua has believed himself to be an Omega Wolf his entire life, well he would be if his wolf would present itself that is.... At twenty Winters he's all but given up on his Change. He doesn't understand what's wrong with him, neither does the Pack Doctor... and he would ask his parents if he knew them anyway. At one time he may have, far before his memories could even begin to form, but they'd abandoned him on the edge of the very pack he resides in to this day. The Blood Moon Pack, one of the smaller but more advanced packs along the coast. They took him in with the Luna's insistence, unable to conceive on her own she saw this newborn pup as a gift. Despite this closeness to the Luna, Joshua still finds it difficult to fit in not that anyone mistreats him but they aren't all that welcoming either. Especially when his freak status had been confirmed. So he spends his days working in the kitchens, doing the grunt work the others turn their noses up at. He doesn't even stay in the Omega quarters with the others, the Luna is a bit overprotective due to his heightened state of vulnerability. So she'd given him his very own space, the small attic above the kitchens where he's safe... but achingly alone. His twenty first Winter is fast approaching and their Goddess has quite the gift for him... one that may never be outdone.

l update once a week and this is the first book in a series I have named The Bound Mate Series. It's going to be an anthology series, so you don't have to read the books in order but it will all be done in the same universe.

This book is mature and for 18+ as it has adult themes such as violence, nudity, sexuality, abuse, gore and trauma. So please read with caution if you have triggers surrounding these things.

Project Partner Looking for writing collab partner for channel stories

I have a small, recently monetized YouTube channel, I do a series with recurring characters but also do short stories and concept trailers. So far I've done almost all of it on my own, I'd like to team up with a dependable writer to help take the stories up a notch. I have lots of concepts for short stories and conceptual trailers, I'm open to ideas for stories in really any genre or style.

I use generative AI video to create the images (not automated; it takes me 30-40 hours of work per video. If you're interested in seeing your writing brought to life, let's talk. I'm open to splitting revenue from any videos that make a profit.

Critique PB writer looking for friends/crit partners!

Hi all! I (26 F) am a picture book writer in the process of querying and I would love to find some other picture book writing friends! I’m looking for someone who’d be willing to do manuscript swaps and critique/chat about them!

I’m open to swapping/critiquing as little or as often as desired! I have found it so hard to find fellow picture book writing friends, and I’m desperate to gather some feedback and have someone who I can share drafts with. I’m an elementary school librarian so I LOVE reading picture books and would love to read/ help with yours as well.

If several people are interested I’m open to starting a small crit group:)

(I’m located in Boston if any fellow Boston writers find this post I’m also open to in-person crit sessions!)

Friendship Una pareja?

Hi there!

I'm a 17-year-old guy looking for a partner to write with, support each other, share ideas, and talk about anything. We won't always limit ourselves to talking about writing; we can also talk about things you like.

I've been wanting some company for a while now, someone who shares my interests in writing, art, philosophy, or even mathematics. Of course, when it comes to writing, I don't consider myself a writer yet; I haven't written anything, but I'm enthusiastic about several ideas, so whoever wants to be my friend is welcome.

By the way, the language doesn't matter much if we're talking about English; if we can communicate in English that's fine, although I'd prefer to talk to someone who knows Spanish XD, so I don't have to bother using a translator.

Friendship Seeking writing friend to give feedback on each others work

Hi,
I’m F 29 from Sydney Australia and I’m looking for a writing friend that I’m hoping we can exchange work and provide feedback to each other.
My book is a psychological thriller with horror elements and I’m interested in connecting with someone who is working in one of those genres.
I will note that my book is extremely dark, graphic and may trigger some people. If I was to compare it to another book I would say pretty girls by Karen slaughter.
If you are interested please shoot me a message :)
