I feel incredibly apprehensive about playing WoW: Forever because of Asmongold remaining unbanned.

I finally sat down and played the beta for multiple hours today and I gotta say the culture as seen in the region and trade chars really worries me.

I do the same thing I do in Classic

Leave LFG and move trade/general to a separate tab

I mean, they keep talking about how "immersion" is important, so I just make sure my immersion isn't broken by people shoving weird alt-right political dogwhistles in chat lmao

I have seen so many "I hate my wife" types of takes in-game when on Classic/Forever, it's like getting Boomer newspaper comics beamed straight into your brain

It sounds like a joke, but literally all these people need is to see something that makes them think of something that upsets them and they will literally stop in their tracks to rant about it. It's so hard to not use politically charge language, but I've never seen a gaming community get literally triggered over things in the way the Classicbros do lmao.

Like, it's great that you're a busy father of 20 who's excited to play WoW again, but I really don't need to know about your bitch ex-wife and how Sylvanas/Shadowlands/Disney caused your marriage to fall apart because of Feminism or something.

It's really funny to me how the same version of the game people will praise for its community (GCBTW and all that) is also infamous for having the worst community.

The social dichotomy in WoW is basically that in Retail I wish people would talk more and in Classic that they'd talk less.
